I've been coming here ever since my old tattoo shop closed down, and I love it! All of the piercers and tattoo artists are friendly and ready to help you. The music in the shop is versatile. If you have any concerns or questions about a tattoo or a piercing, they'd all be happy to give you recommendations and suggestions. These tattoo artists are awesome and their work is beautiful.... They all are pretty funny too lol. You'll enjoy yourself in Big City Body Art :)

Great experience getting my helix and second lobes pierced by Dave. He was very knowledgeable and thorough in his explanations of both the piercing process and aftercare. Somewhat pricey, but I did upgrade both piercings. That being said, the process was quick and smooth, and aside from the normal tender feeling, I have no pain or serious discomfort ... so you get what you pay for. Will be back for nose piercing once helix heals.

Stopped in on a whim basically for a nostril piercing. Dave was friendly, knowledgeable and answered all my questions. He was very skilled at piercing too, showed me all the tools and explained the process again, then bam! Nose pierced, no pain, no fuss. 18 days letter, no issues, healing well.

Super professional stuff. I was treated very well, and have had bad Customer experience at other places like red octopus in crofton md. I hate to put it out there but if there one thing I dislike most is to be treated worthless by those you pay for service. These folks are totally refreshing and even when my nose ring fell out which was my fault, they willing helped me reinsert it after 2 weeks. They did not even charge me. Am sure they could have charged but they didn't. #Truestory

I came to this place today to get a lobe piercing. They were all very friendly and very patient, especially with all the questions I had and how much I spoke. The facility was very clean and the displays/jewelry were all beautiful. They have a little kit they sell that I really like because the instructions are so straightforward and easy to follow, unlike other places where sometimes they hardly give you any aftercare instructions or advice. Love this place, I'll definitely come back for other peircings.

Got my rook piercing done here today. I am one of those guilty people who had a helix piercing done at piercing pagoda and I had a terrible healing process. I had to take the piercings out for work and they closed up. I can honestly say, getting a piercing done by a professional piercer is a very pleasant experience. My piercing is tender but there’s no swelling, no major pain, and no throbbing heat. Dave and Monroe were friendly and welcoming. Both addressed many of my concerns in regards to piercing through scar tissue, how Dave was going to pierce my rook etc. I highly recommend getting your piercing done here. Will be coming back for my helixes later on.

WE CAN NOT EXPLAIN HOW MUCH WE LOVE THIS PLACE. we had an AMAZING experience!! To understand just how much we love it we have to tell the full story: My friend and I had gone to another shop the previous day so that I could get my septum pierced and she could get a double helix. When we got there he tried to pierce me three times before telling me it wasn’t working then asked “do you have metal in your nose?” ( newsflash: I don’t have metal in my nose) My friend got her piercings but the piercer miss-sized her rings and caused her immense pain- they were obviously too tight. After our bad experience at another shop we decided to come to Big City and they: 1. Made us feel comfortable 2. Did not over charge 3. Fixed all of the mistakes that the previous piercer had made 4. And made me realize that I am ~sadly~ not iron man BUT I got a great pain free piercing!! Dave and Monroe were so kind and personable- we talked the whole time and couldn’t stop laughing. The atmosphere is great and the place is SO clean (and I’m a clean freak). You could tell that they took their profession seriously and were so knowledgeable about everything; they answered all of my questions and taught me everything I needed to know. Moral of the story: JUST GO TO BIG CITY. DONT DO WHAT I DID and go somewhere else. We love you guys! Thanks for everything!! -Catie and Holly ( UMD students )

If you're looking for quality work (not necessarily the cheapest price), these guys are amazing. My wife had an Asian inspired koi piece that she had done a few years ago that she just wasn't happy with, and one of their artist, Dio, redid the entire thing and it looks amazing. The fish looked like a yellow flounder with down's syndrome, and it's now a recognizable bright orange koi. He fixed a lotus flower and a bunch of other stuff too while he was at it. His original stuff is probably better. Their prices are good for the quality of the work, and the garage vibe of the place is really cool. We will definitely be repeat customers, and if I ever decide what I want to get done these are definitely the guys I will go to. Can't recommend them highly enough.

Hi All, I just wanted to review this amazing establishment. They are truly professionals. I called before I went they answered instantly. Ready to work right on time. No games ( I love that!!). An extremely clean atmosphere and very close knit staff. Respectful and kind to one another. Ok so Dave is a very educated and professional piercer. He's like a doctor for piercings. You should listen to his advice and don't think you know better than him ok. He explains everything from the cleaning, to the piercing. He's gentle and quick with it. I got the septum. Alsoooo I love this establishment because being a black, female, muslim we are sometimes afraid to go places. Do not be AFRAID...this place is welcoming. It's so cute they even accommodated my hijab lol. I have a feeling this place is all about respect and good attitudes. So when you come here be nice...I mean they are piercing your body for goodness sake lol. If you bring personal belongings put it on the table in the center of the room.. never on the silver table (it's a sterile area...remember it's literally like the doctors for piercings). Get the aftercare...don't be cheap...leave a tip cause this place is A1...don't be cheap. They're going to ask for personal info from your driver's license so don't be shocked and weird. It's for legal reasons/protection for both parties. All and all this place is wonderful and I'd probably never get another piercing from any other establishment. I reallyyyy love the staff. The other lady and gentlemen were so kind. It's so worth your time. GO GO!! <3- Huda

I’ve been looking for a place to get new earring replacements and a simple lobe pearcing for some time, saw the reviews and thought I’d give it a go. For someone who has several piercings and tattoos, I can guarantee I will be back for a tattoo (without even seeing the artist, pricing, etc.) Places and people like this are hard to come by. Environment was very clean, professional, fun, everything you could want and more in a tattoo/piercing shop. Dave and all other staff explained things clearly, took their time, and made sure I was comfortable before moving forward with anything. HIGHLY recommend!
