Idk about tattoos but piercings are a no. I watched the guy refuse to correct where the customer before me was getting her dermal despite her requests. For myself, he ridiculed my body and refused to listen to me and my mother when told the piercing was crooked. Proceeded to pierce my belly button, cockeyed, and then blamed me for his mistake. The piercing was also very deep and had to be removed do to the fact that he pierced it inncorrectly (causing a lot of pain) and tilted. His ignorance was a waste of my money. But the other guys seemed very nice and from the work they had up they looked like great and talented artists. Just avoid the piercer..(he didn't even tell me his name)

WORST PLACE EVER. If I could give this a negative review I would. I went there for a piercing. Apparently, the individual who did the piercing is now in prison. Didn't clean my ear, I had to tell him to do it. Put in a bar that was FAR too short into my ear - to the point it cut off circulation and blood flow and is now extremely infected. I went back to have the earring changed - for which oh by the way I had to PAY FOR!! I am pretty sure I paid for it last time I got it pierced. Oh and then two days later - because the balls weren't tight the earring fell out. WASTE OF MY TIME AND MONEY! I have dozens of piercings and tattoos, I will NEVER step a foot back into that place unless its to file a lawsuit for a case of MRSA.

Kelly did my tattoo and i myst say i have 13 tattoos and this one by far is my favorite she does AMAZING work nice crisp stright lines perfect shading and color filling. Was visiting from MA for the weekend with a few friends and decided it was time for a double helix. Caleb saw us right away, and made me feel so comfortable. Not once did I feel I didnt have a say in anything. Caleb lined the holes up perfectly, consistently and quickly. He made the whole situation painless. I was so excited and happy with the result. Very happy I saw these guys, the whole shop was busy and still happy to see people in the door :) 10/10 would reccomend for piercings (I didnt get a tat!)

i got my tongue pierced here and they used the wrong gauge and the wrong size so it can’t heal properly and when i asked if they could switch it they said yes and i got there and they put the same exact size in.

I got my first 2 tattoos here and they were done by Stephan and it looks like a jail tattoo. Worst 2 tattoos on my whole body, I Now have over a dozen that I got at death or glory in Westbrook. I would not recommend this tattoo shop for anyone who wants a good tattoo. Also they are rude and talk down to you ( as a owner would to their dog) poor service and BAD TATTOOS!!! DONT GO!

Got a tattoo in a tricky place that often doesn’t come out well. These guys were the only ones who were not condescending- assuming I hadn’t done my research and knew what I wanted. They still talked about the possible issues and made sure I knew what might happen (fading/blowing out, etc) but weren’t asses about it. Atmosphere was very welcoming, chill and fun. My guy was super patient and worked on getting the template perfect to make sure it was what I wanted. The tattoo itself is super simple, didn’t come out 110% perfect but I don’t think it would have come out differently if I went to anyone else, it’s just a tough spot and is perfect for me. I’m so in love with it and the experience in and of itself was one of the best I’ve had while getting a tattoo

Labor day 2013, on a whim decided to get tattoos with my brothers while we were in Portland. P&N was the only place available so we decided to check it out. Immediately we were welcomed with a clean environment and friendly staff!! Stephan was the only guy tattooing that day but was doing great work on a girl so we decided to stay and wait. 2 hrs later he drew up a design that no one will ever have because it is special to my brothers and myself. Had absolutely no problems with healing and almost 2 years later my bros and I will be returning for more ink!!

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!! YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!I came into the shop to simply have my nose stud changed to a hoop (which costs $15 apparently...) and the guy couldn't get it in. He kept trying to shove different jewelry in my face. Finally he said he had to re-pierce it. First of all, he used a clamp on my nostril, bruising and traumatizing the area very badly. Then he pierced it from the inside out. Which was not very pleasant at all. It bled like crazy and severely hurt for the next 48 hours. its been almost a week now and the swelling hasn't gone down. The piercer there was not helpful at all in this situation, he said it was normal. My cartilage is very bruised still. The guy was nice enough, but was not honest and was very uneducated. If you're thinking of getting a piercing just go to Almost famous. They have the same prices and are much more professional with way better reviews. When I told the piercer there what had happened she was beyond appalled. She was embarrassed for this guy. When my boyfriend called to notify the manager about both his and my bad piercings (so they could make the steps towards hiring a new one or educating their current one) the manager started verbally threatening him over the phone- the MANAGER! This is supposed to be the most professional person on the floor! He kept saying "oh you're such a tough guy over the phone, come here and talk to me face-to-face." and was completely in denial of the whole problem. That is no way to speak to a customer, especially one that is calmly voicing their concerns. It is such an unprofessional, unsafe, and unpleasant environment, I regret going here so much.

My sister and I went in for matching tattoos. We asked to get them done together, but they separated us. Her tattoo ended up looking completely different from mine. I showed it to another tattoo artist and they said the guy went way too deep into the skin, and now I'm paying to get it fixed. They definitely rushed the whole thing. Would NOT go back there.

I could not have been more pleased with my service today! I had my first tattoo done on my right foot. It's not huge, and not full of extreme detail-- nor was that my intent. I went in this afternoon with a vision for my first tattoo and they nailed it! Kelly was fantastic!!! The shop was clean and the staff were super friendly. Been a customer from the beginning, grew in to a live-long friendship. Finest people on the planet. Bring in whatever you want, and they will ask you, more than once, if your happy with the stencil drawing before they begin your tattoo. They are very understanding and are thorough professionals. The shop is state of the art, and has a wonderful 'waiting area' with a very large tv. If your looking for a great tattoo/piercing, then Pins and Needles is your choice. It's all 'walk-in' business, so get there and 'sign in' and let your experience begin.

I've been coming here for over a year now for tattoos and piercings. I live in Connecticut and I don't mine the 3 1/2 - 4 hour drive to come get work done. It's always a great time and great work. It's a fun atmosphere and good people having a good time no ones stuck up at all like you get in most shops. Mike, Billy and Kelly kill the tattoos. Caleb and Alex r the best piercers I've seen. High recommend coming here.

i’m so disappointed, i knew i should’ve just waited one more day for where i usually get my piercings, but i was being impatient. so unprofessional, the guy who pierced me didn’t even introduce himself and was really rough. a warning sign for me should’ve been him telling almost all septum’s look crooked. so i trusted him and went home to get a good look at it, one side is so much higher than the other that i’m just baffled. realistically i want a refund so i can use my money somewhere else but that most likely won’t happen

Got a small tattoo and all he had to do was trace lines and he screwed it up. The two "artist's" that were in the shop when I was there are not artists...all they know is how to do is print someone elses art and trace lines.

It wasn't a complicated tattoo but I really would've liked them to be straight and look more presentable considering they're there forever.

I got my septum pierced the other day here, and I'm so happy I did. This place is so clean and sanitary! It has a really cool vibe and cool people. I called and they were very welcoming, they said we could come in that day (this is really late too, like 6). Other places I called said they were booked and that the piercer wasn't there, but pins and needles was like yeah sure come on in! So we went, and there were come kinda sketchy hoola hoop dancers outside the place (but don't be weirded out!) because when I walked in it was a completely different feel, it was safe and relaxed and clean (with really nice black leather furniture). We got in there and they signed me to do it. My mom and my sister and dad were there and the guy was so patient and nice to all of us. As I got it done he used gloved and sanitized tools. He let me know what would hurt and what to expect, pierced it very fast and effiencently. THE BEST PART is that it is SO cheap! I called another place to see how much it was to pierce my septum and he said $70, but this place pierced me for $35! I thought it was a quality thing but I trusted my instincs to go and it was great. Go here and you'll have a great experience no matter if you're a 6'5" guy or a 5'2" younger girl! Go here!

I got my first tattoo done here for my 20th birthday— it came out great and I’m in love with it plus I only had to wait about an hour before. I went in again a couple weeks later with some close friends to get pierced since we’ve always talked about it and we were very excited. The same guy who was super nice when I got my tattoo was there, but this time he had a sour attitude and seemed like he didn’t care, which was off-putting since I had a good experience with him before. However, I’m in love with my piercing and he did a good job. People are entitled to have bad days but when you work in customer service at least try a little to hide it.

My artist was Kelly, she was really cool she made my first tattoo experience wonderful she was super gentle and made it hurt very little considering it was on my wrist. The art is beautiful the heart is literally perfect. I would go here again just to have Kelly tat me. My mom's artist was John, he was a little rough but the lines for the tattoo are very clean. The only thing is the matching heart is crooked and the red is a different color. Over all the experience was wonderful the place was very clean and spacious. The parking lot is rather small and tight but it has free parking! Which in Portland, is a plus! The photo below is our tattoos. Mine is on the right my mom's is the left.
