Jenna Antonangelli is incredible! I have a lot of tattoos but I have to say that this is my favorite and most important "tattoo" of them all. I had very thin, asymmetrical eyebrows, and now I can go out without makeup with full confidence! If you've ever been curious about getting your eyebrows microbladed, Jenna is the only person I'd trust. The people here did not disappoint! Long but worth the read, so don’t TL;DR here!! First, you walk into the shop and it’s so welcoming. No in your face flash, no loud music blaring. It puts you at ease before you are about to get your body changed. The waiting area couch’s are comfortable, they have complimentary house slippers for you to wear too! The room you go in for either Rebeka or Ethan is super super clean, wicked welcoming, and not scary. They have real doors to their rooms for if you have that intimate piece to be done, so your boob or junk won’t be on display for everyone to see. They go over what you wanted, size it and place it, then you begin. Asking how you’re doing, if you need a break, completely genuine and not robotic. The after care instructions are also what sold me per se to come back. Very thorough! They take their time here with you in every aspect of your tattoo. You’re not just a customer of the day to them, you as a person matter. 5 Stars, no contest.

I had the good fortune to work with Ethan on a quad piece that I'd been envisioning for awhile, but was sort of struggling to communicate. Ethan was incredibly helpful with supplying ideas, talking through some of my own, and sharing his own input. My particular piece was very text heavy, which seemed to be a change of pace for Ethan who has done some beautiful imagery, but his attention to detail in the script and the somewhat rudimentary images I provided was, in a word, remarkable. It took a lot of reverse engineering of his usual style, which must be a real challenge, but Ethan provided me with a remarkable piece that I really love. Ethan's commitment to his work and the vision of the person he's working with make him an incredible standout in the field. Cannot recommend highly enough.

My experience was amazing. Everyone at the shop was down to earth and welcoming. My artist put a piece of custom work on my body i get to look at every day and feel wonderful about because this beautiful picture is on my my body. My artist asked me several times if i needed a break, offered to let me order food, offered to let me watch a movie. Went for a consultation with Ethan, and their studio is beautiful. Everyone there was so kind and made you feel comfortable. Ethan was so nice and asked so much to really get an idea of what you wanted in my tattoo. Cannot wait till August to start my tattoo. Will be going here for all future tattoos.

I recently had microblading done by Jenna. She was amazing and her work is beautiful. I have been dying to get this done for the last few years and thought I would have to travel all the way to NYC, but Jenna is right here in Portland and honestly her work is better then the artists I was looking at. Having cosmetic tattooing on your face is a big deal and you want to make sure you research and find someone whom you trust. Brass and Briar is located in the West End, and is an inviting, clean, and relaxing studio. Jenna’s room was bright and almost spa like. My husband is tattooed but I am not, so being warmly greeted as soon as I got there made me feel at ease and they did a great job making me feel comfortable. During the session Jenna was very knowledgeable and talked me through the whole process step by step. She was very calming, so if being nervous is holding you back she is definitely the person to see. She had her work cut out for her because I have the thinnest eyebrows and usually fill them in EVERY DAY! I have only gone through one of the two sessions required to really get the effect that I want, but they already look 100 times better. Her work is so fine and detailed that even not fully healed they look natural. If you have even been curious about microblading it is worth a consultation. I would recommend Jenna at Brass and Briar and am already singing her praises to everyone I know.

My second time at Brass & Briar with Rebeka, and I will never go to any other tattoo shop. She outlined my half sleeve (7 hours) and it is more magnificent than I could have imagined. Every aspect, the composition, the quality are remarkable. The whole experience is so much more than I've come to expect from the industry. Rebeka and Ethan care deeply about their craft, the shop, and each customer. From the ease of scheduling and sharing ideas, to the atmosphere, private tattooing space, etc.- whoever thought you could compare going to a tattoo shop to a visit to the spa. Well my review might be a bit biased due to the fact that my Son Jared did my tattoo! I must say though, the studio is more like an art gallery with many rooms. The facility is impeccably clean, the atmosphere is calm and inviting and the owners and all the staff are not only professional, but know their craft inside and out! I've known Ethan since he was a child, he is the hardest worker, great artist and attitude and Bekka (sp) is top notch, funny and knows her business. Jared seems like he's been doing this for years, although he's fairly new, he is truly dedicated to the art and I would highly recommend him as well. I can't wait to go back and have him continue with what we started.
