I've been coming here since March of 2015. I got my very first tattoo here and it's been the start of a very memorable journey honestly. Everyone here is amazing at what they do and each have their own specialties so you always have variety. I've gotten some really phenomenal tattoos from Destany, Nez, Lauren, and Ceasar, and I've sat in on tattoos done by Austen, Paula, and Marcus. I can say with certainty that they only put out the finest work and that they're a blast to be around. If you're unsure at all if this is the place for you or if you're maybe looking to get your first tattoo I'd honestly recommend at least coming by and checking out their portfolios as well as the environment. Over the past couple years this place has become family to me, and I feel like that's a pretty unique quality for a tattoo shop to have.

While the hours state 10am-10pm, I tried stopping by twice in the last two weeks on my way home from work around 8:45pm and they were closed both times, with no sign on the door for explanation. My daughter and I got matching thumbprint heart tattoos. My first one. DUB is awesome. He is patient , kind, answered all my crazy questions and made this experience memorable and pleasurable. If you are doing the research to find the best artists/shop in town, look no further! The staff at Pens and Needles are 1 in a million! I sat with Corey for a little over 10 hours, and could not be happier with my tattoo. He is not heavy handed at all, so those long sessions go super smooth. The shop is very clean, and all equipment is sterile. The shop manager is a really cool guy too. He is quick to get back to you through phone or email. I cannot say enough about these guys! Look them up on Facebook and Instagram!!

Amazing experience! Jlynn took the worst tattoo of my life and turned it into art. Dude has serious talent. Now I refuse to go to anyone else. Truly amazing place. If you need to cover up a big dark horrible awful tattoo, Thomas is the tattoo artist to go to. Unlike the other artists I visited before, he was not intimated by this "little project" at all. He is still working on my half sleeve and it already is looking great! I gave him an idea of the things I like and his design is almost like he read my mind or knew me very well as a person. He is very pleasant, knowledgeable, and professional and the rest of the staff is friendly too. Place is nice and clean.

I got a piercing there and it wasn't midline and it was tilted, but I called and the guy that did it offended a new piercing with no questions asked so that was nice. When I went in, I was helped my the "head piercer"? I'm not sure if I should address her as that, but anyways, she fixed it and was very pleasant. I didn't have to pay again and this one looks perfect. Also, the shop is very clean and the workers are nice.

I came in today and Reese was my artist. I wanted a pretty large shoulder/back piece that would also cover a tattoo that I was no longer fond of, Lol. I gave him a rough idea of what I wanted and asked him to draw something up. I didn't have any pictures to reference so he had to go off what I described. The tattoo he drew was 100 times better than I imagined in my mind! He did an amazing job on my tattoo! I still can't believe I have this amazing piece on me! He was also great to work with. Super nice guy! Everyone in the shop was nice and I think what I paid for my tattoo was very reasonable considering the high quality I got. Overall, I feel like my experience was ideal. It couldn't have gone any better. I'll be back for future work!!

Went hear to have a tattoo completed and when I arrived I had to set up an appointment to come in the following Saturday, which I was cool with. When the Friday before my appointment arrived, I received a message from the tattoo artist that I couldnt come in Saturday because they forgot they had someone scheduled before me. When I tried to reschedule the appointment on another day, the artist would tell me that it wasn't a good day to do it. I decided to go somewhere else.

Lauren Purkey is AMAZING!!! I had to wait a bit, but I expected a wait because I was a walk in. Lauren nailed my custom tattoo on the head...perfectly and without a flinch! She even arranged to complete a touch up on an existing tattoo that other tattooists have told me they couldn't do anything with. I hope Lauren stays put...I am one of those who is willing to drive for service, but I'd rather her be close by. Once I find a jewel like her, I like to stick with the same person. On the side, she also has some beautiful artworks! My daughter, also an artist, clicked with Lauren almost immediately! Pens and Needles has my business, and we will stay with Lauren wherever she goes as we are able. Fabulous experience and all around professional personnel. A+++++

If you go to this shop, talk to Curt Nesbit. He did some trash polka work on me that I get comments on every day here in Virginia. Comments like: "Wow. That's vivid color and an awesome tattoo. How did he work that in between all of that intricate work? Great tat man." I've had a lot of my art done at this shop and recommend it highly. Between Curt and Cory, you won't get a bullcrap recommendation either. They'll tell you straight and get you to the right artist for your tat. Oh. And they make the process fun too. Very engaging, very intelligent... great atmosphere. Beautiful shop too. Just like their tattoos.

Pens and Needles Tattoo Studio is by far the BEST tattoo studio in Northwest Louisiana. The studio is very clean and sanitary, which provides the necessary environment for whatever your tattoo and piercing needs may be. I have been seeing Corey for my half sleeve. He has been great with me. There is a certain sense of professionalism that lets you know what they are there for...to provide you with the best tattoo possible that accommodates your vision. At the same time, you feel comfortable and be yourself. Curtis, the shop manager, is very professional and makes sure all appointments are maintained and the customer is satisfied to the best of their ability. The work is fantastic! Each artist brings something amazing and unique to the table. Each one of them has a specific style that can accommodate to your tattoo needs. I highly, highly recommend this studio to anyone who takes their ink seriously, and wants REAL art on their body.

Pens and Needles is an amazing tattoo shop. The artists there are friendly and professional. The shop is clean and the atmosphere is fun. They have some great talent working there. I can personally recommend Reese Todd. I have 8 tattoos on my body, and he did 6 of them. I have quarter sleeves and both of them are custom Reese Todd jobs. I haven't used any of the other artists, but I have seen their work. These guys love to do custom work. You give them an idea of what you want and they can come up with the most amazing designs. I love this shop so much that I drive 2 hours to go there, when there are a couple of shops within 30 minutes of me. The drive is seriously worth it. If you are planning on getting a tattoo, I seriously recommend going to Pens and Needles. UPDATED REVIEW: I wrote a glowing review for this business 3 months ago. I now have to change how I feel. While I still feel that the artists there do solid work (the artist who I used is no longer there, but they still have amazing artists there), the person who operates the official facebook has really turned me off of the shop. I believe it is the shop manager, but could be wrong. Whoever it is, is completely unproffessional. They talk derogatorily to and about former employees through the facebook, where everyone can see. This is just shameful. The language used is extremely unprofessional as well. As soon as someone calls it out, the post disappears, so he obviously knows that it should not be done. The facebook page represents the shop as a whole and it makes the entire shop look unprofessional and rude. While I like he work the artsts do, I will not return there because of the the lack of professionalism just on facebook.

The one star is because their studio looks good. We went in and spoke to Marcus about getting a tattoo fixed. He said he could do it easily and to send him information through email. After sending him emails of the original tattoo and pics of ideas of what we would like of the new one, he said we could work on something, but then we never heard from him again. We have sent follow up emails to him about where he is or if he is still going to work on the tattoo and still no answer. Apparently if you don't do it right then and there they don't want your business. When you talk to them face to face they act like you're a priority but when you are out of sight, they can care less. I would not trust someone like that working on my tattoo.

My wife got her first tattoo at Pens and Needles. Dub was amazing and overall it was a fantastic experience. He was extremely patient, he answered all of her questions, made suggestions, and listened to what she wanted. From a reference picture she had, he was able to come up with something custom and original that was even better than she imagined. She never felt pressured, or rushed through the entire process. I went there to get my daith pierced I was told to come back in a couple hours after she finished a tattoo I came back when she asked and was sent away again because she was finished then I came back again and was told to come back another day and then another tattoo artist was talking crap about my "Mom car" (my mini van) I have a van yes and I am a Mom but I can also have tattoos and piercing!!! They were WAY OVER PRICED for the daith piercing! I got my daith and my conch done plus a very nice tip for the piercer at Skin Works over on East Texas his name was Adam and he was super nice!!! Pens and Needles wanted way too much plus they kept giving me the run around. I just wanted my daith pierced to get rid of my migraines in it really works by the way.

His style reflects the more emerging styles in the farther reaching metropolitan areas of the US. When i go back home he is the only artist in the area i would want inking me.
