Jj was absolutely terrible. First off, he is so heavy handed, my tat is scarred and raised. I paid 200 for an out line that was terrible. Second, I went in for my next appointment, the shading, and he had to redo the outline. I didn't even get my shading done. So I ended up paying another 200 for something I didn't even get. And lastly, he is rude, vulgar, and looks dirty. I was afraid of getting an infection. The only reason I gave it a higher rating is because when I went to get my septum pierced, the lady was calm, collective, sweet and professional. I would recommend get to g pierced here, but not tatted.

Great experience! I went in to get a tattoo of a heart on my bottom, and they were totally cool and not weird about it. It went fast, and they were talking and making me laugh the whole time. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. My tattoo healed completely with no problems and it looks perfect!

Terrible service I will never go back. When I arrived I was greeted by the receptionist asking me what I needed. I told her that I had an appointment with Diego... He looked at me and told me that it was impossible... so I showed him the messages that him and I sent to one another via Facebook messenger.. he then told me anything under his minimum doesn't get put in his books.. Long story short he referred me to another artist in the shop that was very loud and unprofessional... he increased my original consultation price from $60 to $100... after he was done with my tattoo, it was just a shaky outline of my design.. the line work was horrible... after asking him to shade it in all black he told me for another $40. I will never go back to this place or refer anyone..

This is not the place it used to be. Didn't seem very professional. Guy pierced my lip and dropped the stud and back. Had to repiece my lip. Ouch! Got blood on my jeans. I miss the old crew.

Just based on a friend’s experience I would never get a tattoo here. But I’ve had multiple (5+) piercings done here with not a single complaint. The guy that does piercings is fine but Lisa is AMAZING. Overall I’d trust and recommend them with any piercing needs.

TERRIBLE! I would never suggest this place to anybody that I like! They do not use clean needles at all for any of their work. I know of a person who went their recently for a piercing and what they got was walking out of there with less money and an infection that cost us thousands of dollars. It is a very unsanitary/unsafe place to go have any work done.

I was verry nurvus when i went in to get my dermals done knowing out wasn't going to be lisa bc i trust her only, but Jessie had said shes only done single dermals and not a pair and tbh she did a verry verry great job. Im verry satisfied and theres been little to NO swelling and i swell bad, but these, theres no swelling and its healing verry well.

Unsanitary, overpriced and I would never get tattooed or pierced here, based on the experience my girlfriend had. Have heard multiple stories of artists accepting deposits on tattoos then disappearing with the money. Wouldn't recommend going here, I go to skinquest and see Travis to get any and all work done.

Got pierced from them about a year ago. It was just okay. When walking in even now the vibe is just weird. If no one is up front and there is a tattoo artist at his station he wont they to help you. They just look at you like you've walked into the wrong place and continue to go back to doing nothing. Overall the place is just OKAY

If I could give a zero I would. Very unprofessional, had small children and babies in the lobby and in the back were you get tattooed and pierced. Was told 20min. Waited 40min, then the tattoo artist tells me he had someone else coming who made a deposit for a spot but still were not there. I had to.waot for them to get there then he see who has the smaller tattoo and see who would be done first. I ended up leaving, called back to explained I was upset about it and was told sorry you felt that way. I will calling to report the under age people behind the counter were they do the piercing and tattoos.

Horrid. Absolutely awful. I walked in and they were smoking meth in their place of business. I called ahead about getting my 15 year old sisters cartilage done and they said that was fine, so they knew I was coming with a young kid! I also had my 9 month old son with me as well. I cannot believe the incompetence.

I worked here for almost a year. It was the worst shop I've seen in all of time. When the owners wife was short on jewelry she would wipe it down with alcohol. The autoclave went down we were forced to clean jewelry in a rice steamer down stairs so no one saw. I had to fix at least 3 piercings a week from lisa. I have pictures to prove it too. The owner is unstable. He will threaten customers or at least used to for leaving bad reviews. Will hire anyone to work there. If I had the chance to leave no stars I would. If your looking for a tattoo Jr is the only one there I would trust.

First went here 3 years ago. The piercer was able to find the hole in my tongue from many years previous to that and re opened it. was very clean. Followed my artist to the shop a few months back, and all the artists there do wonderful work. It is a nice clean shop with a nice atmosphere. they treat the clients well and are good at keeping them calm. Kenny is my artist, been with him for over a year. He does amazing work. The prices are very reasonable and the work sticks well. Even after a year my ink is still bright as if it was just put on. They have a nice variety of artists that do a variety of styles. Highly recommend this shop.

If I could give zero stars I would. My bestfriend and I went to get matching tattoos on Sunday, June 2, 2018. The shop had only one tattoo artist Johnson Guzman which they had to call in. How do you call yourself a tattoo shop with multiple booths but only one tattoo artist that you had to call in??.... anyway got our tattoos loved them until after it peeled/healed. Mine was faded so much it looked like i had it for years. I have 9 other tattoos that are 7+ years old and look better than what we got as far as color. My bestfriend tattoo heart was misshaped and faded as well. Sunday, June 17, 2018 we go back for a touchup. The receptionist who said she had only been working there for 3days said that the tattoo artist that left as soon as we got there went to get food and he had his son with him. I understand it's father's day but what kind of person has their kid with them at a tattoo parlor. besides the point, anyway...the manager (i did not get his name) walks in and we were telling him that we needed a touchup and it needed to happen today because my bestfriend isn't from kansas city. The manager procceeded to act assholish with a smurk on his face saying that Johnson Guzman doesn't come in on sundays (not true because when we intially went it was on a sunday) and that the person who did your tattoo has to touch up and that "one of my guys aren't coming in for a touchup on father's day". I knew it was time to go after that. If i have a business and one of my emoloyees didnt do their job i would take matters in to my own hands. theirs no dignity or respect for patrons at this shop. If the manager has bad business practice so will the emoloyess. Ultimately, I will never go back (even for a touch up) and will never recommended this place to anyone, EVER.

I went the first time with my friend and the artist was rude and seemed uptight and not very happy. The second time me and my sister came to get some small matching tattoos, just to say we did. The artist we got only talk to my sister. She said something about the music and he stopped IN THE MIDDLE OF MY TATTOO, to change the song for her. And I was the one paying for it. I was 3rd wheeling it and I was the one paying !!! Treat your customers good, not just the ones you want to bang.

Dec. 2018 My boyfriend and I stopped in Sun evening and stood at the front for 15 min before anyone talked to us. A guy was playing PlayStation up front a tattoo had just finished and that artist walked right past us to go smoke a cig outside. We finally were helped, and my boyfriend went back to his nipples pierced. It was a girl piercer and she had the PlayStation guy pierce one. They bickered about what jewelry to use. Now, it’s done and pierced we get home and they are TOTALLY DIFFERENT !!! The girl pierced through the front of the nipple and the guy pierced through the back - making the curved barbell look straight, while the other one hangs and you can see the curve of the jewelry

It was recommended by a coworker, I went in with the intention of fixing my piercing but walked out disgusted and happy they could not figure out my jewelry. They were nice but there was no sterilizer and the man did NOT wash his hands before putting on gloves. It was not clean nor safe for tattoos and piercings alike. I will not be returning nor recommending Shrunkin Tattoo and will stick to my usual piercer (Radiance Piercing-it is only piercing and VERY clean)

I got a tattoo here from Marvin. He seems very passionate about his work and he did an amazing job on my tattoo! I want to say after reading these reviews that the atmosphere was right. To the people bringing children and expecting them to be "professional" that's a lot of BS. First of all, you are in a tattoo parlor. You should be respectful of their space. Second of all, don't bring your kids if they can't handle an adult rated atmosphere. They were all super chill and nice in there and deserve mad creds.

My first experience at Shrunken Head Tattoo and Piercing Shop was absolutely horrible. Once i walked in the lady at the desk was on her phone. She made me pay before I got my piercings. She also wasnt polite. I was getting both sides of my nostrils pierced. Jessy did my piercings. She took me back and she seemed to be in a rush and only showed me the marking for a second. Horrible customer service. Once i got them pierced i realized they were very uneven, I told her they were uneven and she tried to lie at first and then was hinting that i was wrong and then said she messed up and said wait 3 to 4 days and come back. i asked for my money back for at-least one of the piercings, but they denied me my money for ONE of the piercings despite admitting to mistake.
