It wasn't crazy expensive like other places I had looked at, she was incredibly friendly, and did an amazing job overall handling my piercing and instructing me on how to take care of it. I've followed her instructions and I've had the piercing for over a month and I've had absolutely no problems with it. I totally suggest her if you need a piercing done!

I came here with a friend when she tried to get her first tattoo and I was amazed by how disrespectful the front desk staff and the tattoo artist were. The artist made it obvious that he was too pretentious to do a "regular" tattoo for someone. Do not go here if you want your vision to be respected and carried out the way you want it. If you want a tattoo, Mercy Seat is where it's at.

My experience was really cool. I called prior to my arrival to ensure that they were open since it was Memorial Day weekend. Whoever answered the phone was very polite, so that put me at ease. I was able to get in right away. Now, granted, I didn't go in there trying to get a massive tattoo, just something small and personal and Moe came down and was really cool/chill and he took about ten minutes to do the sketch of my small tattoo. He worked with me with placement and offered sound guidance in regard. He was really laidback. His attitude was relaxed. I was in and out within 30 minutes. I would go back.

Went in there for a simple tattoo to represent my autistic son, wanted a certain “puzzle piece” logo from an Autism Group.. LITTLE JOE drew his own basic design that looked like an elementary student would draw.. i again stated that i wanted this certain logo from a picture i showed him, he said he couldnt make it look just like it. Isnt that what real tattoo artists do everyday? Give people what they want because its on their body? I said i would pass on his design, he crumpled up his drawing and walked away like a pissed off child.. I was shocked to recieve this kind of service. And i have a few tats from diff artists, ive never seen a professional act this way..

My girlfriend and friends were in there for a tattoo today. I let my friend use my phone (a galaxy note 4 edge) and left it there. We made it back to Belton before we realised what had happened. Called them, they had it and said it was safe. Can't beat honesty in America. These are some legit guys and a great business.

I came into this shop while I was in town for a few days to get a small letter tattoo done on my wrist and so my friend could get a tattoo dedicated to his parent. An artist named Joe tattooed me. His attitude was nothing short of terrible, and his ego was delusional. He shut down my original idea and told me he would be unable to do it because the tattoo was too small... Which makes no sense considering he has "over 11 years of experience." He drew up a design I actually liked and that fit my style so I ended up getting it, his line work was great and I really do like the tattoo... the problem I do have is that I asked him to fill in a spot on the tattoo that he missed and finish a line he had missed and he told me not to worry about it and to not look to close because "Nothing is perfect." I am going to have to get it touched up by my artist in my hometown. I paid him for the tattoo and then my friend was greeted by him. My buddy wanted his first tattoo dedicated to his parents, just a simple anniversary date. Joe said his idea was "Stupid" and that it wouldn't make a good tattoo. I was sitting there listening to him spit out utter bullsh*t to my friend for a good 15 minutes. He then drew up a classic Heart with a ribbon that said Mom and Dad that looked like the stereotypical biker tat. I'm assuming that's just his style but the idea was terrible. I then told my friend we should leave and I am going to take him to my artist in our home town that has done my sleeve and 4 other pieces on top of that. I have never once heard a tattoo artist shut someone down and tell them their idea is stupid. it was so unbelievably disrespectful and it made my friend feel unwelcome in the shop. That type of person is what gives tattoo artists and shops a bad name. I would be willing to give someone else a chance but Joe is not someone I would recommend to you. Lastly, I am not someone to bash on someones work and or their shop. This is something I have never done before but honestly I really felt like I should leave a review. I hope you all benefit from my advice. Sucks I have such a meaningful word on my arm tattooed by someone who doesn't give a damn.

Second time I go I wait two hours for a sketch that looks like a 3 year old drew it. They said nothing to make my experience any better and I will never return. A friend and I were in KC from out of town stopped at this shop to get a tattoo. The guy at the front desk was very friendly and personable, but as soon as the tattoo artist came out to talk to us he was very pretentious and rude. My friend told him she wanted a small smiley face on her wrist. He told her it had to be at least the size of a half dollar and that it would cost $80. She said she doesn't want it that big and that she has seen tattoos with more detail smaller than what she wanted. She also stated that she called the day before and was informed the minimum was $60. He said, "Just because the minimum is $60 doesn't mean your tattoo will be $60. Some people come in to get just a simple dot on them, that would be a $60 tattoo." So in other words they were extremely overpriced. When we said we were going to go elsewhere he just said, "Whatever," and stormed off.

Great experience! Brought my 10yr old daughter in to get her ears pierced and I got my labret re-pierced. Cara was amazing! My usually stoic-in-public daughter was very much at ease and later described Cara as having “a warm energy”. My labret is healing wonderfully and my daughter looks pretty cool with her hoops!

I was a walk in, had about a 45 min wait which wasn't bad. I wanted like 8 piercings in my ears but they advised against getting them all done at once for health and healing purposes which was fine they will do up to 3 at a time and the price was very fair. Cara was great, quick minimal pain, and very informative answered all my questions. I was very nervous and she talked me through the whole thing and made me feel very comfortable. Definitely coming back here for the rest of my piercings!

I have never left a tattoo shop so dissatisfied, with a pit in my stomach, completely disgusted with the tattoo, that is permanently attached to my body. We went in with a SIMPLE elephant design. The work I got by Joe, was like he didn’t even care what he was doing. The lines are uneven, and not clean. He must of messed up on the trunk and put a big black mark on the trunk, to cover up what he done. I’m now having to make an appointment elsewhere to get this fixed and I’m going to have to wear this shame on my arm for the next 4-6 weeks while it heals. My friend expressed things she didn’t like and he replied to her with how she should of picked a different design and she asked about maybe shading to help and he said no, less is more and dismissed everything she had to say. I will NEVER go back to freaks for a tattoo. I love

Do not come here if you want a tattoo that has true meaning to you. The artist will tell you how horrible your idea is, completely manipulate your design and tell you how horrible your ideal placing is. You will leave with a tattoo you didn’t even come for because you “want a tattoo” and they know that and use that to talk you into their idea. Please go somewhere that supports you and what YOU are choosing to put on YOUR body. Goodness, and I didn’t even get a tattoo from here... I just sat there for an hour listening to one person after another being told that their idea is stupid and told to get something else.

I got my cartilage and midway pierced here a couple months ago and LOVE it! I had such a lovely experience while I was there. The staff is very friendly and accommodating to your needs. The piercing lady (I wish I could remember her name) was fantastic! She made sure you were 100% sure and comfortable before she did anything and made the whole process a lot less nerve-racking. Do not go here for ink. The piercing seems good, but the tattoos are not. Blake seems to be the best artist and he will touch up my month old tattoo for free. Getting ink done here is an overpriced gamble at best. The Mercy Seat is the best in Kansas City and I should have gone there. I waited 4 hours on a 30 minute projected wait time only to have a tattoo that needs touched up less than a month later. They are friendly people, for real. But the amount of customers to the number of artists makes them rushed. Remember that a tattoo lasts forever, you don't want it to be rushed. Go to the Mercy Seat or somewhere else for ink.

All 3 of us got tats and unfortunanlty while our artist was working on the 3rd and last one he became very upset by something. He may have spilled his ink? We are still not sure. At any rate he shoved the table that his client was on. Cussed. Threw a roll of paper towels. And loudly slammed a cabinet. Its was awkward and alarming. He finished without another word. We are all reasonably happy with our new ink. But after that experience we sure wont be going back there!

Email online was not correct and after getting correct email sending and waiting a week no response. I called today and the guy got James on the phone and I asked if he had time for me to stop in show him what I was wanting and get the ball rolling and he said it was best to hit him up on Instagram! I’m not about to go through a social media message and go back and forth. Very unprofessional and highly disrespectful. Was looking to get the cost, design drawn, and get the tattoo started. It was a back and both arm sleeves. So needless to say they lost out on a big sale. Sickening a business is making someone use social media to communicate a tattoo.

Extremely poor experience here. My friend went to get a piercing and I tagged along. The manager was extremely rude and cussed my friend and I out after accusing her of using a fake ID (which was a real Kansas ID). Told us to "get the f*** out of his shop and never come back," as well as calling us "f***ers" multiple times. Extremely unprofessional experience the 2 times I've been there. Disappointing that the artists think they can get away with such blatant disrespect to customers. I was thinking about getting my tattoo here but they have lost my business.

went there last night, shop was empty except for one girl being helped at the counter. the staff noticed me but didn’t say anything. 5 minutes later two girls walked in. he looked at them and said not to worry about the machines he will get paper work and get them set up. he made eye contact with me again but didn’t say anything. then a group of 4-5 girls walk in a couple minutes later. he asked them what they were there for and discussed details of what one of them wanted. then he goes to the back and gets the first two girls paperwork, as he’s talking to them he looks at me again and still doesn’t acknowledge me. i was in complete disbelief like is this really happening??! i just got up and walked out, it was surreal. went to freaks on broadway bc that’s where i’ve gone for all of my previous piercings, but after this experience i definitely won’t be going back again nor recommending it, went to noland road instead since it’s actually down the street from my house, staff was awesome, will definitely go back there again!

The guy at the front desk was awesome. Made us feel welcome. When the artist came out he was friendly and worked with us to get an idea of our design. We wanted the design on our wrist and we explained that to him before he began to draw it. He then went back and drew the design, which took about 20 minutes. When he comes back out he shows us the size and the design. We asked that it be a little smaller so that the word doesn't wrap around the wrist. After sizing it, it was another 20 minutes or so for him to get setup. It wasn't until we were sitting in the seat that he mentioned that he saw that when we were checking the size he noticed that we wanted it "upside down" and that was the wrong way to do it. We explained that we didn't mind, that we would prefer to see it right side up when we are facing our palm. He compared it to wearing a t-shirt upside down. It's not like this was a cross tattoo, it was a simple word. After going back and forth for a couple of minutes he made it clear that he would not tattoo it upside down. I get artistic differences and artist beliefs, but this should have been a conversation when we started, not after an hour of us sitting there. He did mention that there was only one artist there that would do it, but it was going to be another hour wait. TLDR - Most artists in this shop will not tattoo a wrist tattoo "upside down".

Highly recommend the piercer Paulie, he was absolutely amazing! He was so nice to me and my friend! Very informative! He was also very appreciative of us being so patient for her was the only piercer there. Definitely worth the wait for such an amazing piercing! Very reasonably priced!

I walked in without an appointment for a tattoo and was paired up with an artist named Moe. I had somewhat of an idea of what I wanted and a couple pictures to show Moe. I explained what was important to me to be in the tattoo and he took off with it and about a hour later came back with an amazing drawing. Moe captured everything I asked for and I was really fortunate to have him as my artist. He was very personable and enjoyable to talk to while I received my tattoo. I highly recommend Moe and this shop. Thanks again!

Came here with the intention of receiving a tattoo of what I WANTED ... instead the artist (Caleb) practically told me it would look horrible and told me to find something more unique for my son. I asked if he could maybe draw something up and infomed me he wouldn’t unless I was FORSURE letting him tattoo me(very forceful). Later, he went and drew something up for my sister and I and she wasn’t confident in the sizing of the tattoo first told her to slant it because it’s “dumb” that way. She proceeded to tell him she wanted it to be straight and he said okay it looks good until she confronted him and said “you just said it looks dumb” so by then she said never mind I’ll just have to wait he THEN SNACHED THE DESIGN OUT OF HER HAND AND THREW IT AT ME!!!! && told us BOTH TO GET OUT! INSTEAD of offering to change the sizing of the outline or adjusting it he went crazy on us BOTH INSTEAD. We were as poilte as we could possibly be. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL!!!!!!!!! You will be very disappointed. RUDE CARELESS ARTISTS WHO DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR LIKING. SO many other tattoo parlors to end up here.

Moe was awesome! He did an awesome quote on my arm for me. i wanted a mixture of two different fonts and he sketched up the perfect sweet spot! Also he did it very dainty like i wanted which it seems like not a lot of artists can use that small of needle so well without the work fading when healed. mine healed up perfectly!

I took my daughter in to get her 1st piercing today (nostril) Start to finish it was a great experience. The guy at the front counter was very helpful and set a nice vibe walking in. Paulie is who did her piercing. He was super laid back and helped her feel at ease. He addressed all questions and concerns and the process was explained so she knew exactly what to expect and when. She was nervous and nobody ever made her feel bad about that, which made it all easier for her. Her piercing looks great and she is super happy with it. A huge thanks to everyone at Freaks for helping make her experience a great one!
