I had a consultation on a Thursday and got the tattoo the very next day, great service. The place is very clean and inviting. Would recommend to all my friends.

Way Over hyped, not that is was bad but I was told it would take 45 minutes to walk through and it was over in about 15-20 minutes not enough scares mainly a lot of pointless walking, they need to add more scares and maybe I’ll come back, far drive and Massive long line for not enough scares good thing it was only $25.

I got my first tattoo from Whispering Danny about seven years ago and it is just as clean as the one I received a month ago. My experiences at Exile have always been pleasant both in the quality of the work and my interactions with the rest of the staff. As to Danny himself: This man takes extreme pride and joy in what he does, which is exactly what you want in an artist. It has always been my experience that he not only makes sure the tattoo will look good, but that it is something that you will be happy with. He puts an overwhelming amount of effort and care in to each step of the process, from the design and layout of the piece, to the way he handles you while he is tattooing. I have spent an extended number of hours in his chair, and you cannot ask for a more gracious, easy-going, accomplished, or competent demeanor or artist. A note to the reader looking to get their first tattoo, or get tattooed by Danny or either of the other phenomenal artists at Exile (Jessie Hopeless or Steven Campbell): Exile Tattoo is a *quality* tattoo shop and as such, you will need to wait a bit before you are able to get your ink. This is something that you want from a caliber shop. These truly are artists, and they are creating a tattoo for you to enjoy and wear for the rest of your life. There is a demand for that quality, but it is TOTALLY worth the wait (you are wearing this forever, after all).

Went in for a consultation with Juan Moya and got put down for a date. He did my wife's family's tattoos so I thought I was in good hands. Told him what I wanted and he told me to text him a picture. I texted him a picture and asked for some customization on it and if he could send me what he drew up. I got no reply. My date drew closer and I texted him again and asked if he had a chance to draw something and if he's still interested in doing the tattoo. He said "some people don't want to cramp artists style" and told me the ball was in my court if I still wanted it. I said yes but want to see the drawing before I get it tattooed on my body. I got no reply. My date got closer and I asked him if he was ready and he said he took me off the schedule because he thought I was going with someone else even though I never said that. I said no worries, let's reschedule. No text back. I texted again saying I want him and no one else to do this tattoo and I'm ready to go. He told me to text him the next day to set up a time. I texted him the next day and he never replied. I was willing to pay whatever for him to tattoo me and he kept blowing me off. I wish he would have just told me he didn't want to do it or just point me to another artist. Instead I spent 2 months waiting on him to text me back and get me scheduled. I feel bad writing this because he's friends with my wife's family, but I feel like he wasted so much of my time by giving me the run around and kept ignoring me and took me off the schedule for no good reason. Next time just say you don't want to do it. It's not a big deal to say that. Dragging it on and ignoring texts and taking someone off the schedule for no reason is a big deal. If you go to this place, choose an artist that's not Juan Moya and maybe you'll have better luck getting in. Sorry Juan, but you really did waste my time man and I don't appreciate that at all.

The talent in this shop is phenomenal. Great staff, cool and clean environment. It might take awhile to get in but it's so worth the wait! Danny is an icon in the Kansas City tattoo scene and all you have to look at his portfolio to see why. Not to mention, he's an all aground great guy. 10 out of 5 starts!

I have been there twice now to start on the sleeve on my left arm. Steven has done an excellent job on both of my tattoo's. Not to mention he is a genuinely cool guy. Came to Exile years ago for a tattoo that was done by Danny. It was great. Came again for a refresh and scheduled a consultation. Got a call on the day of my appointment that Danny was out for some reason and they had to reschedule. Oh well, so I rescheduled for next week. Today was the day of my appointment. Showed up at the studio on time and the door was locked. Went next door to Exile 2 - they tell me that Danny is out again (for whatever reason) and Riley who rescheduled my first appointment is out sick. Never mind the fact that somehow I was no longer on their schedule and no one bothered to call me in advance. Barely any effort was made to apologize for this. I’m done with this place, my money will go somewhere else, would leave zero stars if I could.

After researching for some time which tattoo artist I wanted to do my tattoo I found Jessie at Exile. Her work absolutely looks amazing. I filled out the "contact form" and submitted it as per her instructions on her web page. I was fully prepared to wait the 6 months for her to do my tattoo. After a week I had not seen a return email or phone call. I sent another email directly to her email by passing the contact form. After another week still no return contact. I called Exile where a very nice girl took down my info and a brief description of the tattoo I wanted and she said that she would pass along the note. After another week (3 weeks now in total) I still didn't hear from Jessie or anyone for the matter. I didn't want to give up so I walked in and the same girl (I wish I could remember her name) that answered my phone call was at the front and remembered me calling. Again took down my info and a brief description of the tattoo and I waited another week. Here I am writing a negative review after four weeks of no contact not even an email saying I cant or won't do the tattoo. At least that would have been something. I am very disappointed.

I saw Bob for my first tattoo ever, the Egyptian Cat Goddess. He is sweet and patient and does awesome work. Just look at her. She's beautiful! I've been working with Danny for 3 years now on my left side. He is a miracle worker and a lifesaver. He turned multiple deep scars that I hid my entire life into beautiful, healing art that I show off every chance I get. I would love him for that alone but he's also kind, caring, respectful, funny and most important, an animal lover! I am proud to be a walking example of his talent and dedication and even prouder to call him my friend.

I cant speak of the place in whole, but one artist in particular consulted my brother and demanded a $200 deposit. At the time of the appointment, artist never showed. He also never once replied to any emails or phone calls. What a f***ing scam. $200 deposit? Like come on, the tattoo wasn't even worth that much.

Had my first tattoo about with Bob Rodriguez about one month ago. Everything has healed nicely. I asked for several small birds on my rib cage - my consult was on a Saturday and I had my tattoo by Friday. He was very efficient (it was finished in 10 minutes!) and he made me feel very comfortable. I definitely recommend this shop - friendly front staff, portfolios out front and all around nice guys. The entire staff at Exile is amazing. Danny is not only a great artist but he is also a genuinely nice guy. Steve does awesome tattoos and is a lot of fun to talk to. Jesse is an absolutely amazing artist and a very nice person to talk to. I heve never once seen her without a smile on her face. Bob rocks and is great at helping you with your appointments. This is the best tattoo shop I have ever seen in the US and abroad (I've been to 7 different countries outside of the US and heve never seen a shop this nice). If you want it classy, you want it from Exile.

Whispering Danny is a legend among artists, and a friend of mine at church. He led me to Josh Marston, who led me through the design process of my second tattoo. The price is mid range in terms of tattoos, and I still have my coloring session to go, but I am very pleased with the line work and detailing. Josh also made sure to consult for my opinion every step of the way to ensure it was just what I wanted.
