My artist was friendly and the experience was quick and not all that painful for my first tattoo. My only complaint is that it was quite expensive for such a small simple colorless design and I was only told the price after it was finished. It was lucky that I had that money on me. Love the tattoo, dislike the price. Bank-breaker.

Drove 30 minutes across town for help with a piercing I already have, and they were closed already even though they're supposedly open till 8 p.m. I got here at 7:10 p.m. Ps. Google has them listed as a body piercing studio, they DO NOT do any piercing.

Andrew is a great tattoo artist, I definitely recommend him. He listened to how we wanted our designs to be, and was very attentive to this. However, one of the front desk guys was INCREDIBLY rude to us, and almost made us decide to leave and go somewhere else. Some of the tattoo artists are great here, but the shop needs to consider not hiring people who are going to treat their customers in such a poor way.

Iowa City Tattoo (previously called Nemesis) is awesome. I love the atmosphere. To me, it's edgy but close knit. Both of my experiences here went great. My first tattoo was done by Andrew, my second by Jeff (Jeff is seriously the coolest dude). I also brought my sister here for her tattoo, which she had done by Jeff, and she loved it.

I can't imagine a better experience getting our tattoos than going to Old School Jeff at Iowa City Tattoo. We're both newbies, but he took the time to work with us, explain what was going on, and so forth. We came to him with a vague idea of what we wanted and he suggested the perfect design for us. He made sure to ask us if we needed to get up and move around, if we felt any discomfort, or if we had to go to the bathroom. Absolutely no discomfort; it wasn't even as bad as a sunburn. He brought in a privacy screen while he did my wife's tattoo, even though it just on her back. He made sure to give us plenty of after care information and suggested some products to use. Haven't had to go back for a touch up, but that's because it's got a little more healing to do. The studio was clean, the people were friendly, and we talked about Anime and comics while we got the ink. We had such a good experience that I want to go back and get some more.

I went in wanting a dragonfly tattoo. Boyd looked at the idea I had and drew up a beautiful, realistic dragonfly that I got on my foot. I will definitely go back for more ink.

I can not say enough great things about this shop. The entry way, waiting area and bathroom are clean and comfortable. The waiting area has a ton of art of the wall to get your creative juices flowing. Anne is out of this world. She took the photos I sent to her of my dogs paw and captured the most amazing tattoo ever. The care she took with me, being this was my first tattoo was wonderful. It was a very special moment when I was able to see the finished product. I highly recommend this shop and Anne's work.

I booked an appointment a month in advance and called four days prior to verify the appointment. I was assured I was on the schedule and would be getting tattooed. However, when I arrived, Anne told me, "Oh, I thought this wasn't happening, but you're from out of town, so I guess you don't have any recourse." She's right, I did come from out of town for this tattoo, and I lost two days driving to Iowa City and back. I can't beleive they did not bother to let me know in advance that they were cancelling my appointment. Worst of all, they didn't even apologize. Seriously, I could not recommend this place any less.
