Went there on Jan. 4th for my appointment with Manny at 5:30.... First tattoo done in 9 years first in Elgin.. It was the second shop i went into that day looking for a tattoo in memory of my Dad... Sarah was very helpful with trying to get me in asap and talking to Manny that day, made me realize this was the place to get it done... Checked other places around the area n in Lake County. But knew in my mind this is the place for sure. Sarah is amazing and Manny did a great job and heck so good i actually fell asleep... 5 stars isn't enough for this place.... I will always recommend Funky

I walked in to get my first tattoo. Paige and the other lady (sorry we didn’t catch her name :( )took care of me right away even though paige had an appointment in the next half hour. I got a small wrist tattoo so it wasn’t going to take a long time and they didn’t want me to wait an hour. They were both very informative and made me feel comfortable. I walked out within 20 mins, very happy so I highly recommend!

I hold Funky Rooster and their staff close to my heart. Even though they don't know me personally, I love the place. The atmosphere is so welcoming and not as intimidating as other places out there. Their prices are great and reasonable. I got my first tattoo with Josue, who is super chill and a super talented artist. All of the tattoo artists here are great at what they do and I always tell all my friends and family about it. I've brought my brother with me and he's gotten a couple of tattoos done here as well. We both love coming here and will continue to until we get our fill, and our friends and family get theirs.

Manny was more than patient with us! He was awesome, made our first tattoo experience relaxing and painless. The entire experience was awesome. We both want to go back! Best experience I've had with a tattoo shop. The shop is warm and inviting. They have original artwork (mainly large canvas paintings) hung up all over their walls, of which, all were for sale. I went in for a consultation on a Saturday and they had a sketch drawn up for me in 6 days. It was a colorful, traditional chestpiece drawn up by Sean Kim. They require a $50, non-refundable, deposit for any consultations that lead into an original sketch. The following Saturday, I came in relatively early, (12:30), and started my session with Sean. He was polite and extremely professional. He completed my Tattoo in 4 hours. Really great price for a really great piece.

I got my first tattoo here and I am glad I did! I got so many compliments on how nice and detailed and beautiful it looks, so I'm happy overall. Paige did a great job at explaining everything and making sure I was involved in the process. We also had nice conversations and got to know each other, so that made the process less painful and more enjoyable. I would recommend this parlor in a heartbeat and will for sure come again for my next piece.

Got my first tattoo of a watercolor tree on my forearm here from Paige Hudon and I absolutely love it. I scheduled a consultation with her and showed her some ideas as well as explained what I wanted. She has a fun and colorful style - you can definitely trust her with your ideas. Her design was absolutely perfect. She had a great eye for size and placement on my arm. Everyone at the shop made sure I was comfortable and had all my questions answered. The result is more amazing than I could've imagined! They also gave good aftercare instructions and made sure I knew I could call or stop in with any questions that come up. So glad I got my first tattoo here!!!

Love this place! I was very nervous about getting my first tattoo. But the staff here were great in walking me through it and making it a comfortable experience. This is a great place! I called ahead and they scheduled me a time to meet with Amy Porter. At our first meet, we went over what ideas I had and what ideas she had. It was a great collaborative experience. After emailing each other a few times, we got a final tattoo drawn up. I had a more elaborate tattoo (a penguin in a golf cart next to a sign) and it took 3 sessions to finish up. We stopped early one day as it was draining for me (coloring is rough!). Amy was super understanding and encouraged to not push myself. She was also super easy to talk to since we are both big nerds. The shop itself is super clean and open. Everyone that worked there is super nice and friendly. I am already planning that my next tattoo will be at this shop!

Worked with Paige today after being recommended by a friend. She did amazing work. The shop is clean and sterile. Its also got a friendly and fun vibe to it and everyone was upbeat and easy to talk to! Would recommend it to anyone from first tattoo or 20th. Also got to see Jose work on a new client who was getting his first tattoo and he was very patient and understanding.

Not happy with this place. Without going into full detail the guy could not give full detail when asked questions. He also interrupted me while I was talking. I had to call another tattoo place that are very good and well known to get accurate information and did NOT interrupted me. Would never recommend this place to anyone.
