Great tattoo shop with so many talented artists. I got my first tattoo by Cloey and she was amazing. The shop has funky decor, comfy furniture, each station was very clean and since it's by appointment only, it's private as well. I came from Wisconsin and found street parking near the shop easily. I highly recommend it.

I had a tattoo done by Tine this morning while I was in town. She is the most talented artist I have ever had the pleasure of having work done by and I plan on returning for more work once she reopens her books. A great shop run by great artists who are passionate about what they do. I can't wait to return.

Black Oak is a wonderful get away from a big city, you walk into a foresty dream lounge area. The shop is by appointment only and the front door is locked and you need an appointment to enter. You should only bring 1 friend if any one is needed. They have a restroom for clients and a variety of artist working. The shop has guest artists working frequently so if they don’t have a full time artist you like probably a guest will be coming through soon. No piercing. Street parking with meter.

Highly recommend. I drove down from Michigan and it was absolutely worth the drive. Got my shins tattooed by Nathan Mould while he was in town. The atmosphere is amazing and everyone is friendly and welcoming. Would come back in a heart beat!

Black Oak is a beautiful, professional shop! Very clean, but it doesn't feel sterile in austere kind of way. Lush plants, wallpaper, vintage furniture, and some tasteful taxidermy (no, really!) give the space so much personality. I got tattooed by Tine last week -- I had a certain placement in mind for the piece but it wasn't going to work quite right, and she was really patient and helped me figure out where we should put it instead. She did basically the length of my inner arm in about 2.5 hours and the results are so detailed and STUNNING. Can't wait to come back, would highly recommend!

Black Oak Tattoo is by far the best tattoo studio I've ever been to. The design and decor is incredible and the artists are even better. I've had two tattoos done by Tine and she is SO talented! Her style never ceases to impress me and her quick, light-handed work makes me want to keep coming back for more. They also have an incredible run of guest artists who visit the shop. I've traveled for two of these guest spots and plan on returning soon for another.

I made my appointment last September in 2016 for February and had to reschedule. The next opening was in August or September and the owner responded quickly and said we could change the appointment. All summer I tried contacting Tine Defiore by phone and email to ask when my appointment would be and today is the 4th time I contact the shop. At this point I want my deposit back but I will probably have to physically show up at the shops location to speak to someone. I am very disappointed as this has been my first attempt at getting a tattoo.
