I've had Kalib do several tattoos and I intend to have him do several more. Definitely my go to artist in the central illinois area. I've also had work done by their apprentice summer, who is definitely paving her way! she does solid work. All three tattooist and the piercer, Ryan, are great at what they do. very knowledgeable and all around great people.

The workers have wonderful personalities, and they are great at what they do. If you're getting a tattoo or piercings in Pekin, I'd definitely go here!!

Kalib did a fantastic job memorializing our 2 deceased puppies. This was my first ever tattoo and I was nervous, but he made sure I was okay the whole time. His design of the tattoo itself turned out better than anything I originally imagined. I would never trust anyone else with something like this.

love this place. Kalib is the man. i could not imagine going anywhere else. i see alot of tattoos in my line of work(motorcycle mechanic) and every time i see a piece on someone that really stands out it is almost always american inkwell. Since I started going to kalib I am constantly being asked who does my tattoo work. In my opinion kalib is second to none. I have had him do around 20+ tattoos on me. maybe 30+. his work speaks for itself

Fantastic for tattoos and piercings! Took my 5yr old in today to get her ears pierced and was worth every penny! Ryan was kind patient and calm with her. Her explained everything step by step so she would know what was happening the whole time. She did cry but he just talked her through it calmly and made sure she was comfortable getting her other ear pierced before doing it. They even gave her some quarters so she could play pinball while waiting to get her ears pierced. I've also had 3 tattoos done here by kalib and they are all beautifully done. I won't go anywhere else for piercings or tattoos!

I got a double helix piercing by Ryan. He was super sweet, relaxed and calm. Explained to me everything he was doing and what to expect. We had friendly conversation in between explanations. Very sterile and clean place with a friendly atmosphere! I'm going back to get a tattoo soon!

I just got my second tattoo (7th one total) from American Inkwell and I can't tell you how amazing and welcoming everyone is at this shop! The feel of the shop is great and it's always clean! This is the only tattoo parlor I will ever go to now; all of the artists are great, so you won't be disappointed in their work. Jason did both of my tattoos; one was a coverup (which are always tricky) and the other one was an addition to a tattoo that I already had. He did a fantastic job on both pieces - better than what I had invisioned and well worth the wait because they can be busy. My most recent one was a family tattoo with a word in my Grandmother's handwriting - so kind of important to get it right and make it look like one coherent piece since I was adding to it. He knocked it out of the park! It may just be ink on skin to someone else, but to me, it's a little piece of my Grannie that'll always be with me and it's beautiful. Thank you so much!! I'll definitely be back for more :-)

I have never had any work done here but have friends and family that have. I also have had them quite some pieces. These guys are really nice and laid back. Their studio is very nice and clean. Their art work is on point. I would recommend at least giving them a chance to bid your next tattoo and check out their work.

This is one of the best shops in the area. I've gotten pieces from Jason and Kalib and they both do great work. You'll have to wait a while for an appointment, but it's worth waiting for. The shop is clean and the artist take their craft very seriously. I'd give 10 stars if I could!
