I have been in about 10 studios in between Los Angeles and San Francisco and Skin Design is the best one I have the pleasure to meet, casually in Hawaii! First off, they ask you to send a design and they are very accommodating and proactive on the communication. About the artist, I speak about ELI. He is a very talented guy who pays attention on details, he is patience and listening to you. He totally understood what I wanted and he was not afraid to touch an existing tattoo I wanted to fix and fill, despite many others even refused a consultation on it. I gave him a couple of ideas and he came up with a few options explaining what he could have done. His passion made me very comfortable and I completely trusted him. I can't wait to get the next one in NYC pretty soon :) Thanks guys, you are really amazing!!!!

While Lynn is the artist I've used so far, I have interacted with most of the people that work at the shop (I've gotten almost 30 hours of work so far). Everyone that works at Skin Design is super nice and friendly. The shop is on the 34th floor, so the view is insane awesome, which matters when sitting still for hours to get a tattoo. Not only is the view unbelievable, the quality speaks for itself and my art gets compliments regularly. My color retention is great and there is almost no scarring, both important when considering a tattoo artist in my opinion. I posted several photos of my leg sleeve throughout the process so far. Have a look, it's obvious how skilled the artists here are in their craft. Skin Design will always be my first choice for tattoos on Oahu.

Al is an artist beyond compare! His photorealism is insane! We flew over from California & booked out appointments beforehand. Sent photos via text so he could plan ahead and they offered to help with tourist recommendations and everything. The view from their lobby and his private tattoo studio is amazing, at 23 floors up you over look either the marina or the city. We spent 6 hours there with my husband & I's tattoos. We couldn't be happier with them. Exactly what we asked for and better than we could've hoped for. His music was soothing and he was easy to talk to.

A dream come true to come to the shop all the way from Vancouver to be tattooed by my favourite artist of all time, Mr. Robert Pho! As expected, he beautifully delivered the most intricate piece that I set out for him to tattoo... Well worth the trip and well worth the wait. His whole team is filled with the most humble and down to earth people, not to mention that he himself is one of the most inspirational, humble, and down-to earth people I've met in my life! Such an honor to be able to come through, and I will definitely becoming back to finish my full arm!

I’ve been coming to Skin Design Tattoo for the last few months and with my next appointment approaching I thought I’d share my experience with Skin Design and their staff! First and for most the building is breath taking with a million dollar view and feels like you’re on cloud 9 when you walk in. Very clean and unlike any shop I’ve been in, the staff is extremely nice, it’s truly a little famila at skin design If you are looking for an artist that you can spit your ideas to and for them to understand & are able to put it down on paper ask for Lynn. I’ve had the pleasure to work closely with Lynn who works for her passion and you can see that in her drive and the work she puts out. which is just one reason why I can’t stay away from this place. She’s a true pleasure to be around which is very important when you’re in a chair for 9 hours ;) very professional, light handed and creative. Can’t wait to come back for more Be sure to bring 2 dollars for validated parking!! Ink up everybody

Lynn took such good care of me; this rose was a memorial piece for a family member I lost and something I had been wanting to add to my body for so long but I didn’t know who was the right artist. I saw her flowers and was immediately in love with the textures and the detail she was able to put into them. This is by far my most visible tattoo and I’m IN LOVE with it. It’s perfect for me and I’m just glad I took my time to look around and find such a talented artist to do it for me.

Aloha ! I'm from Germany and moved to Honolulu , Hawai'i 2 1/2 years ago. I'm learning the Hawaiian culture and the native language. I already collected some tattoos in Germany & here in Honolulu. First time I stepped in the shop, I felt a huge Ohana ( family ) spirit !!! After I met Robert, I could understand why. I Hope to get tattooed from him one day. I was on a month trip to Hawai'i from Texas and knew that I wanted a large tattoo done while I was there. I did not make my appointment until about 5 days before. My tattoo artist was Lynn, and she did a great job. She was very friendly and professional. Got 2 tattoos in 3 days, and now when it’s almost summer (and time to wear shorts lol) i always hear compliments from random people that those tattoos on my legs are awesome.
