I love this place! Went to get my nostril pierced. Everyone was so nice and very helpful. The whole process took about 15 minutes. They walked me through everything they were going to do. Since I had already had my nostril pierced before they just re-poked the previous hole I’d had. Which was exactly what I wanted, making the healing process easier. Highly recommend this place if you’re in the Waikiki area.

I was a walk-in on a Thursday afternoon to get piercings. I knew it would be a bit of a wait just because the shop is always busy and they do such great work. Tony took care of me and was very knowledgable and skilled at his craft triple checking that he makes sure the piercings were where I wanted so it made me more relaxed (I am not a fan of needles lol). I highly recommend for first time or experienced people who want piercings done to go to Tony at skin deep

Hedrick did my girlfriends ear piercing and made us feel very welcome! Gave us the whole rundown on pricing and the procedure. He even checked to see if her existing piercing was fully healed before he charged her anything. Sent her off with a cleaning and care kit! Worst experience ever, high prices, not just skin deep, wallet deep, save your money and go somewhere that tattoos better and you get what you pay for. BTW I'm not a fraud, My tattoo is wonky and scarred, you can't just "get a refund" in this world, this biz knew exactly what they were doing when they chatged me. I would strongly advise against using this tattoo shop. I initially went in for a walk-in appointment but was told they were fully booked but they could fit me in on Monday at 3:30. We discussed at length how this suited better as it was the last day of our holiday. When I arrived for my appointment they told me my appointment had actually been scheduled for the previous Friday, despite what I had been told, and that I had forfeited my $50 deposit. The receptionist had written the appointment incorrectly in the book and incorrectly on my receipt (which I did not realise I had to cross-check as we had a verbal agreement). The receptionist when I went back in was patronising and rude and would not accept that they may have made a mistake. I can’t help but think that this is a scam to keep honest customers’ deposits. I would strongly suggest going somewhere else.

Went for a daith piercing and had a terrific experience. Everything was fully explained, Bronson (guest piercer) checked in with me as to placement and aftercare. Didn't hurt, just a bit of pressure. Amazing selection of quality jewelry from BVLA! Bronson was very patient, knew his stuff and was willing to answer any question I had, making sure I was comfortable and happy with my decision. In need of some quality jewelery, I decided to come to this shop with the only APP certified piercer on island, and sells high quality jewelry (e.g., Anatometal, Neo-Metal, BVLA). Hidden down an alley in between two buildings was this gem of a shop. Tony, the piercer on staff, was incredibly friendly and thorough. He talked to me about all of my jewelry options, and when I decided to get a piercing, he talked to me about how viable the piercing was for my anatomy. Together, he and I came up with an awesome vision for my piercing and he seemed as excited and amped about it as I was. Everything in the back of the shop was very clean, with an emphasis on sterility and explaining the whole process. Even as an individual with several piercings, Tony explained this to me without making me feel bogged down or talked down to. I felt like I'd made a friend, and he even helped me by switching around my conch orbital jewelry, which someone else did, to fit in with my aesthetic idea. He also put in my new tragus jewelry snug per my request. My new daith piercing is amazing, and I love the fact that I now have matching opal jewelry in my one ear. The shop, at least in the piercing side, is incredible.

While on vacation, i decided to get a piercing. From the moment i walked in the lady at the front desk (fellow scorpio) was very welcoming and helpful. The shop was clean and well-kept. Tony did my piercing and it turned out great. Went to get my septum pierced. Guy pierced it once took it out re did it pierced it again in cartilage- it bled and hurt and you could barely see the jewelry coming out of my nose- and then instead of just taking it out he let me go home- the next day I went back. Another guy said placement was wrong. Waited a week. Went to that guy to re-pierce it. Now, 4 months later the tip of my nose still hurts and I went to another shop to have it looked at and they said it would be best to remove it and start over because the placement is wrong. Damn. Don’t waste your time coming here since they don’t know what they’re doing. I can understand messing up once.. or even twice. Things happen. We’re human. But, for real, if you don’t know how to pierce you shouldn’t be piercing people. Ridiculous.

Freaking amazing customer service and they know what they are talking about. I went there to find jewelry for a piercing, and they were able to change the jewelry I was pierced with (at a different place) to something that was actually correct. Aloha! Oldest tattoo shop in Oahu! Such a rad crew! The house is stacked with highly educated Tattooers and Piercer. Walking into this shop is an honor, but what's most important about such an established shop, is being treated like they are honored you are there on any given day. Fantastic experience, amazing people, fabulous as well as QUALITY variety of jewelry to choose from. The jewelry display caught my attention as I was walking by and I'm so glad I stopped in. Got a piercing I've been debating for a couple years, and the whole process was very fluid and easy. This was also the first time I was asked what my final plans were for my new piercing, versus getting stabbed wherever they determine is the best placement for the chosen jewelry. 5 star experience, for sure. It was my first time in Hawaii and it was my 10 year anniversary, I thought it would be special to get a tattoo with my husband. We decided to get similar tattoos and called around for quotes. Virtually everyone including Skin Deep in Waikiki quoted us 60-90 for these small tattoos. After traveling around the island Skin Deep was the only place that had a walk in on our last day before flying home (literally 6 hours from when we got the tattoos we were on a plane. We got our quote and she said it was 160$!! For 2 small silver dollar size tattoos?!? My husband has a half sleeve he got done for 250$ we laid 320 for both? Rip off, we even asked about the price of when it was finished and it sounded like we could change it depending on the size, nope. I even tipped 20$, we were good people who got ripped off on our anniversary by a place taking advantage of tourists... Never again, poor business model.

Father In law took his stepdaughter there with her mother (who’s last name is obviously different now) and they wouldn’t let her get a nose piercing because we didn’t have a birth certificate. 1. Who carries a birth certificate with them on vacation? 2. Everyone’s id’s matched up (address, insurance, etc). 3. Mom and daughter almost look identical. AVOID UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF. I’m only giving one star because I can’t give zero. We booked on Friday to be tattooed on Monday (our last day of our holiday). The receptionist made an honest mistake and wrote Friday’s date on the tickets. We hadn’t noticed because we folded the tickets and put them straight in out pockets. We turned up for out appointments and we’re told that we missed them and lost our deposits. Long story short, the rude, arrogant and brash woman behind the counter basically told us we were lying and that loads of people just don’t turn up so we’ve wasted $100. Still offered to tattoo us but we’d have to pay an extra $50 deposit. Customer service was absolutely atrocious and I would recommend avoiding this place at all costs!

Took my husband to Waikiki to walk around since it was his time in Oahu (I’m from Kauai, he’s from Phoenix and we were visiting) His nose ring had closed up after I made him take it out for our wedding.. Made an appointment 3 days in advance for my friend and I to get tattooed on our last day in Hawaii. They were running an hour behind which was fine but when we showed up it turned all bad immediately. The tattoo guy (tall, skinny, bad attitude) was telling my friend that it was impossible to put a flower in the body of a seahorse that was 4" tall. He informed her he's been doing this 23 years and knows it all. My friend decided to get her deposit back because of his unprofessionalism. He then asked me exactly what I wanted which he said would be fine but once he overheard my friend asking for her deposit back, he jumped up and grabbed the envelope with both of our deposits in and told us both to leave. This was the worse case of customer experience I have ever witnessed and would not recommend this shop to anyone.

Tony was gruff at first but soon learned that he is very knowledgeable, informative and caring about his piercings. Piercing was practically painless and store had a huge selection of jewelry and was very sanitary. Definitely recommend this place and Tony!!!
