First tattoo done in this shop, tattooists were more than helpful and patient than i expected. As it was my first time, i was kind of hesitant, but im glad i went through with it, i love the work!

Was hoping to get some flash as a walk-in during a visit to the island. As a tattoo collector, I was hoping to learn a bit about the history of the shop, Sailor Jerry, chinatown, etc. Unfortunately the two guys at the shop weren't very interested in chatting and were a little rude. I get it, people probably ask about Sailor Jerry all the time and the topic is tired. Although the shop wasn't busy, the guys may have been busy preparing for appointments but a dismissive and rude attitude sucks. Its a bummer for those that are interested in the legacy and history. The shop lost a client and my money due to crummy attitudes. I'll recommend elsewhere in the future.

Major let down. Not what i was expecting at all from a shop that was once owned by the pioneer of tattooing.

Terrible terrible terrible terrible. Service was trash. Artist took a WALK IN client before he started working with me, and I had put down a $100 deposit to lock down a 6pm appointment time. I finally sat down to be tattooed after 8pm (more than two hours after my appointment time). I got 9 words tattooed across the top of my back and dude had the audacity to charge me 250 dollars for a 20 minute tattoo he did over two hours late! Sailor Jerry's legacy is being destroyed by the artists in this shotty, mismanaged, run down shack. I won't be back and I don't encourage anyone else to work with them.

Wow! What an awesome place to get work done! Not only were Alfy and Harry really cool people to meet and talk to, but the work they do is phenomenal! No better place for the nostalgia and the history than Old Ironsides. I'll definitely be making a return trip to get now work done by the talented people here! Thanks for the great work!

History right in front of you. Cool place to visit and get a feel for old Honolulu. Just need to get the tattoo next to really feel the atmosphere. Still drinking the Sailer Jerry's though!

Husband and I were here back in April, and it was one of my favorite experiences while on the island. First tattoo ever, and I love not just the work Alphy did, but the fact that it was done at Sailor Jerry’s original parlor! Everyone was super nice, helpful, and creative. There is a $100 minimum, but the entire experience is more than worth the money paid!! We plan to visit again!
