Carolyn is by far the best henna artist I've ever been to. I went once and was hooked. She free-hands no matter the size and complexity of the piece, and takes into account everything from your bone structure to body movement. No matter if I come with a set idea or just a hunch of what I'd like, I always leave with something I love. Aside from her talents, she is super sweet with a cute shop, and always makes the experience a great one.

Not only is Carolyn the chillest person ever, she is also a legit artist (I am a fan). I would highly recommend decorating your skin with jagua or henna as an alternative to a man-pedi any day. The place is comfy, easy to find, with a nice musubi joint nearby for munchies while her work dries. I'd definitely recommend her to all my friends.

Wonderful lady, good prices! Will make this place a stop on future visits! I was total last minute thing, she fit 2 Tattoos in anyways on a Sunday! She was busy too, had group of 6 or so come in after us, All freehand work, 1 girls started fading at a week the others still bold after 2. As I expected from past experience with their skin types, that's why they say it stays 1-2 weeks, it can depend on your personal skin type and body chemistry. Great fun. Great memories! Ask if she has her bottle cap rings for sale yet, she was working on some designs , they looked awesome!But not ready yet!

This was the coolest henna I've ever had! Carolyn is super talented! I showed her a few design ideas and my henna turned out absolutely stunning. Carolyn was super chilled and accommodating. I visited the shop the day before my flight out and we spent an hour and a half together on a late Friday night doing henna! The shop is also super cute and conveniently located in Waikiki. Prices are also super reasonable. Absolutely love the experience and I would not go anywhere else!

Carolyn is so talented she did my son's Maui hook from the necklace he was wearing. He can't wait to show it off to his school friends. I'm a picky person when it comes to henna, so when it was time for my vacation to Hawaii I only wanted the best. I looked through many webpages and photographs of the various henna artists that Oahu had to offer and Carolyn is definitely the best. I could tell from the photos that she is an artist by the various styles and requests from customers that she takes. Everything she does is freehand and it's amazing to see what she can come up with. I was not very specific with her. I asked her to do something on my right arm and make it look tattoo style with some dangly bits. She used jagua for the tattoo look and was able to give me the perfect design! All of her henna is made by herself using safe and natural ingredients. She is appointment only and since she's such an amazing artist, she is quite booked but was very flexible with working with my busy vacation schedule. Her cute little studio is located in the 2nd floor of a business complex and signs point you right to her door. If you don't have an appointment and you show up, she may not be there or is busy with other clients, so make sure to book ahead! If you're an animal lover like me, she has delightful turtles that she spoils in her studio that you can watch while you're getting your henna done, or just chat with Carolyn. She's an amazing soul and I'm glad that I went with her!

Honestly, i'm insanely glad we went to Honolulu Henna rather than that Rainbow place. The artist here knows what she's doing, she understands the henna material she's using, and she is just the most down to earth artist i've ever met. This place is not your typical touristy henna stand. She has a passion in her art, and it shows fourth. If you're visiting Honolulu or Waikiki, and want a Henna Tattoo, this is where to go- no other shop (even in the continental US) compares.

Also, a first for me, she cares about the quality of the henna that she uses. See reviews about getting up to her studio, do not be put off - it's on the 2nd floor and very pleasant inside. I'll be visiting Carolyn next time I'm in Honolulu!

Carolyn was a super kind, very creative and such a nice person! I chose her place because it had really good reviews. I walked in her place half an hour before she closes and told me that she is fully booked for the day. So I told her it’s fine, I’ll probably just go to another place since it was my last day in Oahu. She then decided to squeeze me in between two other customers and I was so glad she did! She was helpful when I couldn’t decide and gave ideas on how to combine different motives into one. I absolutely loved my hennas! She also knows a lot about the Jagua she is using and offered me to always ask her about the ingredients used in a different place, if I would decide to get another henna somewhere else! Can 100% recommend her and the prices are fair too!
