The only reason for one star is because I couldn't leave it blank. Where to start... Dave's name was given to us by some friends who had been on the island, not because they had had any art done by dave, but someone they knew had. I wish we would have known that then. We showed up early for our appointment (the last one of the day, don't ever do that!) Dave said he was running late and asked us to come back in a couple hours. When we returned he was still running late. We should have turned and left. The shop was filthy, dirty dishes in the one and only sinke, and if you needed to use the bathroom you had to go down to the corner coffee shop and walk through their kitchen to get to the bathroom. Not sanitary at all! I was scheduled to get some Color work done the next day, to add to an underwater piece I already have. My friend has tat's from neck to toe, literally, and said that Dave's hand was the heaviest he's ever encountered. My friend was getting a black and white done on his chest, a piece that should have only take about 90 minutes by any artist back home. Dave had the gun in his hand for a total of about 2.5 hours, but my friend was in the chair for almost 4.5 hours. Every 20 minutes or so Dave would take a break. He'd smoke and chat on the phone with what I imagine was his girlfriend. He would stop to talk to walk-ins, even thou it was after hours and he had a client in the chair! Anyone who's ever had work done knows that every time an artist stops and comes back it's twice as painful. My friend is a tough guy, and like I said, has art on his neck, arms, fingers, hands, legs, back, you name it it's inked. The whole time he was working on my friend he said how he loved to do black and white and that he HATED COLOR. He said, "If one more person comes in here wanting an underwater scene I'm going to puke." HELLO, I was supposed to be geting underwater and color the next day! After Dave was finally finished, without adding any white to the piece I might add, he charged my friend $600 and on top of that added his own 10% tip when he ran the card! We walked out the door and my friend said, "You are NOT getting ink tomorrow!" NEVER go to Dave for any serious work! He has outlived his days of being an artist. Now he's a washed up angry old man who bitches the entire time you're in his chiar.
