The tattoo that Jesse did for me is beyond words. I ask for a tattoo similar to my dads 1950 Korean war mililtary tattoo. I got my first tattoo here on December 31st, 2017 from Jesse Phillips. It was a fantastic experience! He was careful, cleanly, and personable. There was little confusion about the process and cleaning after. I got exactly what I wanted at a very reasonable price and I could not be happier. If anyone asks for someone and somewhere to get a tattoo, Mine Shaft would be at the top of the list! Attached is a photo of my tattoo, now virtually healed after the 2 week care period.

I'm a bit of a hot mess and came in with a very loose idea of what I wanted but no real plan I just knew that I wanted to cover up a small tattoo I had gotten a long time ago that I wasn't fond of. David was awesome at not only helping me come up with a plan, but he gave me an absolutely BEAUTIFUL tattoo that I'm proud to wear and I still get complements on it any time I go out!! Fantastic shop! I went to update my current jewelry and ended up my daith pierced there and it was the best piercing experience I have had. I went in with a design that required absolute precision with black line-work. I'd spent a lot of time looking through portfolios of artists from Atlanta to Asheville. I'd heard about Jesse and David through friends and studied their work online. When I went in to consult I met David. He took a few moments with the image and we talked about the skin surface I wanted it on, I have some tiny scars and didn't want them to impact the line of the design. David was honest and open with me. He noted that this would be a challenging piece, but that he was confident in his ability to do it well. The process was simple, my only real discomfort was from craning my neck trying to watch him work. The healing process was a breeze, and there wasn't a single spot that felt like it had gone deeper than it needed to. I'm looking forward to going back to check out the original art and have touch-up done to several older tattoos. The shop is clean, professional and the artists are gifted. Sanitary and safety precautions are in place and obvious and I left well educated about the best aftercare for my new art.

These guys are amazing! Had daith piercing- both ears- Gina was so so patient and professional. She also has such a calming way about her. Tells you everything step by step before she even starts. Shows you everything is sterile and sealed. I really felt comfortable. She and her husband are both genuine people. Make you feel right at home. Highly recommend them.

I would recommend this place over anywhere. They took such good care of me and was so gentle while working on a bad piercing from another company in Clarksville. I will be going back this weekend for another piercing. Also i had a tattoo done there several years ago and it still looks amazing. 5 star all the way around.

I had gone to Mine Shaft yesterday to get my septum pierced, and it was a piercing that I had been waiting a long time to be able to get done. The piercer, Gina, was extremely nice and welcoming when it was time for me to go back for the piercing. She took me step by step on how it works and every precaution they had to take. Before hand, she had mentioned that my nose was on the smaller side, and that she had to feel around to see what the best placement for me would be. She was super down to earth, and helped me stay calm throughout the whole session. 10/10 would recommend everyone to come see her for any of your future piercings! They will always have my business anyday!

Stopped in today while on vacation. On Saturdays, its first come first serve. I was lucky I got there early. My friend and I both got tattoos and she also got a piercing. They were nothing but nice, answered all of my questions, and even laughed at my dumb joke about the tattoo being permanent. I'd be willing to drive the 2 hours from my hometown to get another tattoo from them. 10/10 recommend.

Jesse is a gem! And Gina is so sweet! I can in for a tattoo commemorating a miscarriage and it turned out better than I could have imagined. Jesse went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. My cough, I’ve had what seems like forever, crept up at the end of the session and he was quick to get me water and peppermints to help. I will definitely be going back to add to my tattoo collection soon!

Walked in at 6pm when no one was in the shop (no one getting tattooed and no one getting pierced that we saw) the guy at the counter asked what I was in looking for and I told him I wanted to get a septum piercing. He said the piercer was expecting a appointment for a septum any min but would check with the piercer. He walked away and came back a few mins later and said she had 2 appointments lined up for the night. I said okay I’ll wait. And the guy said the 2 appointments would take up the rest of her evening. They were still open for another 2 hours at this time and a septum piercing worst case scenario should take no longer than 20mins. (That’s being generous) After reading through all the shops reviews before visiting I was highly disappointed in the professionalism of this shop considering they were clearly dead.

I was really impressed with how much attention went into being as clean as possible, and the incredible amount of detail that went into my tattoo of a broccoli, haha. Ok, it would not let me give them a ZERO, so I had to click 1 star. I went to the shop on Saturday, about 3 o'clock and they said there was a waiting list (about an hour or 2) and for me to put my name on the list and they would call when it was my turn, I said ok and put my name on the list and explained to them tje tattoo i wanted and that I was staying at the hotel right across the street. Well, here it is MONDAY and they still have not called me! VERY RUDE PEOPLE!! If they didn't wanna do the tattoo (which was a memorial piece) all they had to do was say "hey we don't wanna do that" not keep me waiting around all day for them to call. NEVER EVER WILL I GO BACK THERE AGAIN!!!!

After seeing the work he did on a friend, I went to David at Mine Shaft for my most recent tattoo in February of this year (2017). I've got 14 tattoos but he has done the best work of any artist that I have ever used. The tattoo that I had done was a line that my daddy had written in a letter to me before he passed. The hand writing is an exact match. It's located on my collar bone so I was prepared for it to painful but it wasn't at all. I'm not exaggerating, there was no pain. I will only use David at Mine Shaft from here on out!
