He made it seem like it was just a breeze and found every way he could to keep my mind off the process. I went in on a Friday afternoon and had an appt for the next day. Paulie is the absolute best! I've had piercings done by a lot of piercers over the years and no one compares to him. First of all, he's so nice, patient and friendly. My cousin was in from out of town and I knew exactly who to bring her to, and she is such a baby, lol. No one would have been as patient and kind as he was, he practically held her hand through the whole thing, though he couldn't literally, obviously haha. She of course had an amazing experience just as I always have. She is back home now and wants another piercing. She absolutely refuses to let anyone else touch her now and is waiting until the next time she comes to visit to get it done by Paulie. He is so gentle too compared to everyone else, knows how to make it as close to painless as possible with expert precision. His many years of experience shows. He knows his stuff, seriously, answers any and every question with his vast knowledge. I ask a lot of questions lol, he's seriously like a piercing encyclopedia. I can't recommend him highly enough. No matter where you live, if you live in Guam, the moon, wherever, and if you want a piercing, wait until you visit San Diego and get it done from him. If you're already in San Diego, you're in luck!

I went in there today to get a tattoo. I spoke w Tristan yesterday and he was extremely friendly. He told me to come in tomo on a walk in. He came in today on his day off to take care of me. He was professional, courteous and extremely nice. He is an apprentice there but you would not know that by his work and knowledge of tattooing. His lines were crisp and sharp. Hands down my favorite tattoo shop in San Diego. I drove 40 minutes to go to them and it was totally worth it! I called in asking if I needed an appointment and although I did, they still took me and my friend. My tattoo artist was an apprentice and you would honestly never know! I forgot his name sadly, but he was the coolest dude! He did such a good job and even dealt with me yelling about the pain! Ha I love this place and would recommend anyone and everyone!!

I was referred to this shop by the guys at Hodad's in Ocean Beach. Parking can be a challenge in the Pacific Beach area, so definitely be patient and prepared to walk a bit. I got my tattoo done by Rudi Redman who is new to the the shop (not to tattooing) and not on the website yet. She is/was so awesome to consult with on the piece and in the end I gave her complete autonomy to design it the way she wanted and ended up with an amazing tattoo that I'm proud to wear. You'll want to make an appointment if possible since it is a busy shop and walk in's can't always be accommodated.

Do not get tattoo work done here! I had my first tattoo done here by Daniel and he did a terrible job. He used way too much pressure and my skin is now raised and scarred. I contacted Leo (the owner) multiple times to try and have him fix my tattoo but he never responded to any of my texts or phone calls. I finally gave up trying to reach Leo and just went into the shop. Leo tried his best to fix my tattoo by going over it again but it still looks awful. I recently learned that Daniel has been fired from this place but the damage has already been done. Worst experience ever.

Friday the 13th tattoo. Was worth the wait. The young lady that was at the front desk was awesome and laid back. The artist was simply amazing. It was supposed to be on the arms of legs only but he did it anyways. He added shading too. I was a bit nervous about not doing my research but his art work was very impressive. There are hundreds of tattoo shops in San Diego. Anyone can get a bad tattoo. Seth Reynolds at Funhouse Tattoo in PB does not let that happen. From the day I first walked in with ideas in my head to the minute I finished my final touch ups, Seth took care of me all the way. He is a perfectionist and will not put his name on a bad tattoo. He will also not let you walk away unsatisfied. I got a 6 hour back piece that hurt like a mother. Seth was really flexible with his schedule and accommodated me in every way I asked. He is as talented as they come. I will most definitely continue to come to Funhouse for future ink! Thanks Seth!

This is by far the best tattoo shop in the PB/San Diego area. I have had the honor to have Mr. Roger Solis as my tattoo artist. To date I have been going to him for almost a year now, and I have gotten two full size inside forearm tattoos by him and I have a few more to go and I get compliments on them daily. Ladies, if you want someone that is charismatic with a gentle touch (cute too), Roger is the man. Professional, courteous…there are not enough words to describe him. The shop itself is in a cool location. Parking is best on the side streets. Very clean with cool art and art pieces on the wall. I have not had the pleasure of getting any work done by any of the other artists but they seem really cool. I have seen some of their work they have done on their clients and it is pretty awesome. This is a hidden gem. If you haven't checked them out, you will be missing out.

My experience with Funhouse was awesome. Hunter Knolmayer was my artist and he completely killed my tattoo. Definitely one the most respected artist in the game for Southern California. He did a black and grey tattoo for me that turned out better than I could have ever expected. He is a true artist and strives to be one of the best in the tattoo game and I would definitely recommend him to anyone for any tattoo.

I had a previous Haida killer whale shoulder piece I got about a year ago, and I really felt like it was lacking and not complete. Seth's work turned out great - he was able to work with what I already had, what I wanted, and tattoo regulations that I am under for the military! Couldn't be happier. He is an expert on Polynesian/Haida-type art and knew the best ways to make certain areas of the art pop, he even used the older ink as contrast which was amazing. All in all a great experience. All of the artists are super knowledgeable and friendly, so definitely give Funhouse a try!

My artist was Stephen, I didn't see him listed on the staff section of the website but that man is an incredible artist. He pulled off a near impossible piece of photo realism with a level of detail that is just incredible. Not only did I walk away with an outstanding piece of artwork, I also got some great conversation and some good laughs. Great experience all around with a bulletproof tattoo at the end.

I went in around 7pm and Otto was working with a client. About two hours later he finished and stayed for another two hours, past closing time, just to draw up a revised sketch of my tattoo idea. The next day I went in at 2pm and he had already been there for an hour before opening just to finish up my drawing. We ended up doing the tattoo and it came out beautiful. Otto is definitely the guy to go to. He cares and is really in the zone when he works. Wouldn't want anybody else doing my tattoo in San Diego.

Yesterday I decided to get my first tattoo ever, and somehow I was lucky enough to get Stephen. Since this was my first time walking into a tattoo shop, I really didn't know what to expect. I came in with a rough (to say the least) outline of what I wanted and Stephen took it and turned it into an amazing piece of art. He talked me through everything and it was easy to tell that he really cared about what he was doing. He is a genuinely good person, obviously proud of his work (but also extremely humble), and amazingly talented at what he does. I highly recommend him, and despite his profile not being on Funhouse's website, he is obviously leaving an impression on everyone else he has tattooed. My first experience here, when I went to get a piercing done, was okay. But Paulie was such a jerk the next time I went there to get my nose ring out. It's a latched nose ring that I got from India and maybe he hasn't seen the kind before but instead of trying to open the latch, he just started tugging at it, causing me more pain (and later on worse bleeding) than when I actually got pierced. And when he couldn't get it out, he was just really rude and mean to me, saying he doesn't have time for this and implying that as if it was my fault to feel so much pain and not let him continue with his crude method which obviously wasn't working. Although he asked me to wait so he could attend to his other customers first, which I can understand, the manner in which he spoke was really unprofessional. Wouldn't recommend him at all!

I found this shop through yelp. I wanted to get started on a gorgeous piece and I needed to find someone who fit my style and I came across a master of tattoos... So, I just got a tattoo yesterday by Alec and I must say that he was amazing. I started on a very painful tattoo: an octopus on my sternum and rib area. Alec had a plethora of information to make my next session go more smoothly including where to buy and how to apply numbing cream. He was patient with me. As I mentioned before, this was a really painful tattoo but definitely not my first. He put up with me and encouraged me to continue on, although, I'm no quitter so I wouldn't have anyway! ;) Alec drew up the tattoo and we communicated via email beforehand. Initially, I wanted something more centered but Alec's instincts were far more superior. It's going to come out looking realistic and so detailed, I can already tell. Now, this isn't a cheap tattoo shop. You're going to pay for any of the artists' artwork and their time. I think the pricing is reasonable especially when you take into account how long they've been tattooing and the quality of their work. I can't say thank you enough, Alec, for this gorgeous piece that's going to come out so much better than I would have ever anticipated. Next is black and gray shading then my final session will be color!

I would definitely recommend this tattoo shop! They are super professional but also have an awesome atmosphere and they all do really great work. I had a very detailed elbow/forearm piece done by Scott. I told him an idea of what I wanted as an extension of a previous tattoo that I had and he did a great job blending the old and the new piece together. If you are looking to get a really quality tattoo done by very talented artists, this is the place!

I was a bit indecisive about what I wanted and changed my mind a few times and he bared with me and communicated with me throughout the entire process. He knew exactly what I wanted and we went for it. Being a huge Star Wars fan, I decided to get a traditional style Darth Vader tattoo on me and Paulie is a huge Vader fan as well so he was really passionate about every detail going into the tattoo. I've received so many compliments thanks to him! I love everything about my new ink. The details are beautiful and the colors go so well together. P.S They definitely have a crowd, so it's better to reach the artists by email through their site.

Alec Bauer was my artist today, having yesterday been my 18th birthday and not knowing much about tattoos, my family (sister, dad, and mother) all went in to get tattoos after being recommended by my brother in law. The shop was very clean and all of the artists were very hospitable especially Alec. Alec really got to work and executed all of our tattoos to our desires and then recommended us to An awesome burrito joint. Loved the experience and can't wait to have my next tattoo done when I come back to San Diego in a few months!
