Unsure of the quality of the work, however the piercer was so UNKNOWLEDGABLE on his craft I wouldn't even let him pierce my ear. Very unprofessional and lacking any true experience.

First off let me say sorry for the late delay of posting this review considering my experience here was 11/13/15(Friday the 13th) but let me add that I was just able to put in the Jewelry I actually wanted in 2 months ago. I went to this tattoo and piercing shop because they were doing the famous Friday the 13th deal. So I did the $13 piercing, I got two on the same ear next to each other. Of course the pain was expected but I left there happy with my new piercings and even left the guy a $10 tip for doing the job. However my happiness quickly faded. Now I'm not new to piercings, I have my belly done, neck done and another four piercings in each of my ears so when this was still tinder after a month and still red, I became concerned. I went to my usual go to shop, Club Tattoo(the only reason I didn't get the piercings done there is because they don't do the deals but you get what you pay for and I learned this the hard way) I had their piercer take a look at it. Not only did he use too thick of a needle but he also put lip jewelry in my ear!!!!!! The piercer couldn't even take out the jewelry because it was so painful!!! He had to drain my ear and then I had to go back to him two weeks later to get proper jewelry in my ear. And like I said I just got some new jewelry in my ear, the jewelry I actually wanted but because of the placement of the two I am limited to what jewelry I can buy. In my opinion this place sucks!!!! And if your out of ear jewelry tell your customers that!!! Don't f$&@ up their ear!

Angela has done a tragus piercing and a white finger tattoo on me and I absolutely love her and her work if i was to go back for anything id go straight to her she let me watch her clean and disinfect every thing both times and i would recommend her to everyone

Angela does a great job! After originally getting my ears pierced at Claire's I noticed they were deffinetly asymmetrical. It caused me a lot of stress and so I went to Instinktive Tattoo to fix it. Angela did a perfect job matching them up, and then explained how the shape and size of the ears comes into play. I was really impressed by the fact she took so many measurements with calipers to ensure it was dead on. If you're nervous about getting your ears pierced and having it done right the first time, I can't reccomend anyone better!

Very impressed with this pace and Chris in particular! I went in because I had an eyebrow piercing done in Vegas and I was having some problems. Even thought it wasn't his work, Chris took time with me to explain to me how to care for it (I had gotten bad after care instructions) and even ended up changing out the jewelry for me. He was very nice and helpful when he didn't have to be and I will definitely be back!

Angela is THE best. She has done pretty much all of my tattoos and piercings and she has also corrected 1 that i got somewhere else and now it looks perfect!! I get compliments almost every day on how good the shading and line work in/on my tattoos are. I highly recommend going to this shop for any of your piercings and tattoos, and if you see Angela I can promise that you'll have a good experience.

I went to Instinktive for both my first tattoo and navel piercing. My tattoo was just lettering but the entire time my artist complained that he hated to do lettering. He really made me feel uncomfortable. The tattoo turned out fine; however after going to several other shops to compare pricing I found that he over priced my tattoo by about $40. My piercing was done about a year later. Unfortunately the only guy who could do piercing there at the time was the same guy who did my tattoo. He had some difficulty and ended up having to start over on my piercing. I really love to support local businesses; however not when the work is completely overpriced. The only good thing I can say about this place is that there is a new artists named Brandon there and he does AMAZING work. I have had some work done by him before he joined the crew and would really recommend him.

My granddaughter and I went there to get semicolon tattoos as a bonding experience and it was terrific. Both guys there, unfortunately I do not remember their names, were great. They did exactly what we asked for, prices are good and they were very friendly and made both of us have a fun, memorable time. The shop is very clean and a welcoming place. I am already planning my next tattoo and will be getting it done there.

Ben Porter is amazing. I first met Ben when I accompanied my younger brother to get a tattoo. He was so nice and accommodating. I loved that both times my brother was tattooed by Ben, he had Him move the placement with the stencil multiple times and Ben never made him feel like an inconvenience. He gets that he’s putting something permanent on you and wants to make sure it’s exactly what you want and placed exactly where you want. You’d think that would be the norm, but sadly, I have been to other shops that turn their nose up and act irritated when you ask them to move the placement, change the size, etc, so it was awesome to see Ben care about your wants and needs. I went in for my first tattoo with Ben last night and it was the best tattoo experience I’ve had. As mentioned before, Ben was kind, accommodating, takes his time to make sure he’s getting exactly what you want with the drawing, makes sure you’re comfortable during the tattooing, and is super personable/humble/easy to talk to. And my tattoo he did (wildflowers) is my favorite tattoo I’ve had thus far. I felt more relaxed here while receiving tattooing than I do getting my nails done. He has gained life long customers from me and my family. I am already thinking of the next tattoo I want him to do for me. Thank you Ben !

Went in for TieDye Cactus. Our tattooist was Jason. It's pretty mediocre work. I'll be having to take this piece to be redone for lines and Color... 150$ an hour.. Just dont do it. Do some more research. Go to a better shop with some better artists .. ( way better artists ).

This is a new place right across from the ASU East Campus. Yes I know they call it "Polytechnic" now but screw them. That is a made up word. Instinktive is a clean, pro shop that does serious work. The artists are consummate professionals. Keith Pulver, the owner, does fantastic work; he also grabbed some of the top talent in the area to work in the shop. Unlike many area shops, they are not flaky and unprofessional. They are communicative and have a good system down for scheduling and follow-up. They seem to follow all the industry best practices for cleanliness. Above all else, their work is top quality for a reasonable price.

Best shop I've been to. Not really sure about the validity of the other reviews on here, I've had work done by both Keith and Chris, each piece becoming my new favorite. The prices are what you'd expect anywhere that provides the services of ARTISTS, which is what you'll find at Instinktive. All but one of the tattoos I've had there have been freehand and look outstanding. A lot of the other shops in the Valley act like they are celebrities, fail to acknowledge customers, and scoff at anything besides their style. I recommend this place to all my friends, and will be going there for work as long as they are there.
