I've gotten both my tattoos here and my husband had one here as well, they even touched up one that was badly done at another tattoo shop! As I type this, my husband is getting his 3rd tattoo and I already talked about getting my third. They are so amazing and I will never go anywhere else for tattoos. I got complimented about my newest while on vacation by a bunch of people!

Tattoos are permanent, quality is important. My sleeve was done at Disciple, and each piece done had surpassed my expectations. Beautiful artwork, incredible skill levels, and overall an amazing place to go for tattoos. The artists are talented and work flexibly. The atmosphere of the place is very clean and professional. I recommend Disciple to anyone who plans to get a piece of art in the future. :)

Went in for an appointment they said they could take. Walked up to the front desk, which was dirty and dusty, and waited while the artists who were working ignored me. Since they had customers I assumed that someone else was working the desk, so I waited. 10 minutes later, with no one even looking up to acknowledge me, I left. Plenty of other artists and shops around, no need to try back.

I've spent 49 years battling all kinds of demons in my life and finally in a place to start a new chapter so I decided to get a large tattoo with various elements to reflect triumphs in my life. I searched a while and decided to go with Carlos Rubio at Disciple Tattoo. I explained the concept and was told I would need to wait roughly 90 days and then spend most of the entire day getting it put on me. I was also told they would reach out and work with me two weeks prior to make sure the design is what I wanted. None of that happened even after multiple emails, leaving messages at the studio with co-workers, etc. When I arrived at the studio, Carlos was unprepared and I had taken an entire day off work to have this done. I got nothing but excuses that I had changed the location of the tattoo due to a sports injury, yet they hadn't even started working on the drawing until two days prior, and I had left messages with the studio and emailed two weeks prior that I would need to switch shoulders. They didn't give me an idea of anything until the day it was supposed to be put on me and the drawing the provided was a rough sketch and only one element. It felt like a last minute "rush job" and that's it exactly what it was which is why he wanted more time. I was treated very rudely by his wife, Dyonna who made some very personal and demeaning comments. She also refused to give me my deposit back after they failed so miserably for a new client. Carlos called me later that day to apologize and offered to give me my deposit back which I appreciated. I think he is probably a good person, but because he had taken a week off for vacation, he hadn't planned well and unfortunately my tattoo design took the back seat. This doesn't reflect well on him or his studio. While I believe Carlos does good work, my experience has left me second guessing the whole idea of getting a tattoo. Overall my experience was very very poor. I would not recommend this studio for anyone getting their first tattoo and I would say they are very unprofessional. Carlos does great work from the tattoos that I have seen, but I'd steer clear of these guys if you are a first time client. Beware!

Got an awesome tattoo from Dane Donker back in December, Healed up beautifully. Me and my brother got matching star wars tattoos and they turned out bad ass. Recommend these guys for everyone. Spent 5 hours a piece on our tattoos on one day, great shop and cool guy

I highly recommend this tattoo shop. The atmosphere is very friendly and it is very clean. I had Dane as my tattoo artist and my tattoo turned out looking great! It was my first tattoo and he made me feel more comfortable about getting the tattoo. Overall it was a great experience.

Left a tattoo shop feeling like I never want another tattoo ever again. Talented artists and a great looking shop, however, went in to consult on a small tattoo ($100) and was told that they were going to charge up to $400. Understood that and told them that we were used to a friend doing ours and so the price was higher than we were used to since we were used to the "friend" discount. The woman at the front took it as me saying their tattoos were too expensive, which was not the direction I was heading in at all. The lady then made me tell her the tattoo artist that we usually use so she could look her up online and tell us they are bad quality. I showed her a tattoo I had done by my artist in Iowa in memorial of my Grandmother and the woman there told me it was bad quality. Overall, I was trying to let her know that we are out of the loop with prices and that we just wanted to know what we could get for what we wanted. Instead, the lady told me my tattoo was poor work and that she was trying to rip us off to get us to keep coming back to her.... Left a tattoo shop feeling like I never want another tattoo again. Great feeling.

I absolutely love getting ink done here. Both Dane and Carlos are very talented in their own styles. Their clean lines and detail is outstanding. My boyfriend has three pieces done by Carlos which all look spectacular. I have two pieces by Dane (my very first tattoo, the experience got me hooked. lol.), and a portrait of my cat in the process by Carlos. All of the ink I've gotten here are my favorite pieces on my body. Dyvonna, Carlos's wife, is really nice and hilarious. After being alongside Carlos for as long as she has I think she has a really broadened knowledge on tattooing as well. She gives really great input and advice, honesty is something I really value in an artist. They really make you feel comfortable and welcome. They always are clean with their equipment and my boyfriend and I have never had any issues with the healing process unlike another tattoo shop we went to. This place is definitely our favorite, you will not regret getting work done here I can assure you. The cost may be more pricey than other shops, but you really get what you pay for essentially.

This is the best shop! I have gotten several tats from shops all over the country. This is by far the best shop I have experienced. I have to say this has to do mostly with Chipp, Carlos recommended Chipp based on my desired art type as the best person to do that type of work. Met with him on a design idea, he came up with a drawing, we tweeked a couple of things and settled on design, color, and timing. (It took a few visits, about 8 hours in this tattoo) And I could not be happier! Cannot recommend Chipp or the shop enough!

Permanent makeup tattoo is also the talent that is offered. I had my eyebrows tattooed. Numbing cream was applied before the procedure to provide a little comfort. The shape and color turned out better than my attempt to use regular makeup. I highly recommend this shop for those who are considering permanent makeup. The shop is extremely clean which is important to me having worked in the medical industry. The staff is friendly and considerate. I highly recommend this shop.

This is by far the best shop I've been to in AZ! I live in surprise and make the drive all the way out here...there that good! The artist are all friendly and there's no lack of talent. I've had a couple of pieces done here and will be back for more. When the owner offers you anything you want to drink from the fridge or to go grab you something to eat while you're sitting for a long session it really tells me that they care about me not as just a customer but as a friend. So if your looking to get a badass tat or some great cosmetic work while listening to funny jokes and great story's then this is the place for you. If you get upset or are offended easily by things other people say then just stay at home and complain to yourself please.

hi i went in with a tat to be fixed the first visit we went over just a couple things then i brought back the 40 deposit and just wanted to ask a few questions on what general direction they would go with to fix it since i have been ripped off twice and wanted it done right and also of course i had a few preferences. so i spoke to the lady at the desk which i think was the owner what a shame since the tattoo guys seemed awesome. evrything was going fine when i asked how they would make it wider and they i asked about a circular shape that was not even colored and i wasn't happy with then she said she would have to do the whole tat again and that shape could not go there so i was shocked that all the sudden between the two visits that she changed from fixing it to changing everything. maybe she should have talked to the artist i dont know. so she started getting rood when she said we could put the shape somewhere else and and i was in shock and just asking where and was actually ok just wanted to understand. then she rudely said that she did not want to do my tat. thank god i asked questions first she even was ready to put me on the schedule. what would have happened next. this sucks i was putting all my faith in them and i think she could have been less rude. the bottom line ask questions cause she my say forget half way through and take you 40 dollars for nothing. again this is not an attack on the artists i dont know them. good luck guess i will give up and live with a half arm unfinished tat for the rest of my life.

This is the best place to get a tattoo. The atmosphere is very relaxed, the artists don't come off as egotistical jerks. All the artists there are super talented and care about creating a one of a kind work of art. I would recommend this place to anyone.

If small business ink shops were judged on skill alone, this shop would receive a great rating. Unfortunately for Disciple Tattoo, they require more than just skill to draw clientele. Their customer service is awful...they are often not in shop when they claim they will be (I had to make two trips to verify the art, because the original date and time I was given was forgotten by everyone. I arrived to a closed shop-despite arriving within posted hours of operation-no apology was issued, despite my inconvenience [hindsight: I should have let that be enough of a deciding factor....but I was drawn to the art, nonetheless]). In addition, the art I asked for and what I received were not the same-and no discussion regarding changes took place prior to the ink being laid. To add insult to injury, full price was charged. (Higher than other shops pumping out similar work, by the way). Despite seeing some tragic ink laid in other shops...I would still recommend potential clients to seek ink elsewhere, invest better research into the kind of shops you want to support and artists who value their clientele. Disciple Tattoo is definitely not one of those shops. In addition to horrible service, the business ethic of the shop supports homophobic slurs and misogynistic behavior. I would not recommend this shop to individuals concerned about a comfortable environment for all peoples. Only to the ones who find slurs and bias as credible business conduct. *Recently an offensive post to Disciple Tattoo's social media website was brought to their attention, in a rather civil and non-insulting way (basically, they were told it was not appreciated and continuation would result in lost support from followers)....The response from the owner states: "You must not have paid any attention when you were in the shop. And if you are offended. We don't want you in our shop anyway. So lighten up!" Prior to that comment, friends and family had spent over a thousand dollars with Disciple. They just don't value the opinion of anyone who doesn't agree with them, regardless of how much money their patrons spend there. Do yourself a favor...go to shop that won't care what your opinion is...but will still treat you with respect and decency. Choose a shop that doesn't place it's clientele in a situation that is uncomfortable and awkward. It's the least a small business ink shop should do anyway.

I got my arm done by Rod and he did more than a fantastic job. My tattoo looked like it was printed off the internet but it was all free written by Rod.He was very patient and the whole environment was comfortable not to mention the wonderful staff! I highly recommend them and will be coming back to finish my unfinished tattoos.
