All I did was call and I already knew I was not going there. She answered the phone like I was interrupting her whole life. She was so rude. She couldn't wait to get me off the phone and answered every question like it was such a chore. Not a sign that she cares much if you ask me.

This place is amazing. I would use her over the Nordstrom tailor and that’s saying something. Always top quality work and fast turn around. Great customer service. We take everything there and she’s always so nice to my little girl. Will be customers for life!

Very rude, insulted my dress I picked- it's color and the way it looked on me ("big, crazy"). She doesn't try to be friendly or tactful with people's feelings. Argues before listening to what the customer wants. Told me I was trying to "make her work miracles by having her make my dress make me look thin!" I was actually asking her to tack down extra fabric so it looked less boxy. Maybe her job is hard and people have been unkind to her but she has been in business long enough to know better about how to treat people, especially women in that kind of situation. She didn't really seem to care about getting my business even though I was kind and patient despite her remarks. I can see how she could make women cry. Ridiculous quote for something simple and wanted to be paid upfront even though she made it clear she didn't know if it would turn out. I opted NOT to use her. Go to someone who cares how they treat you and wants to understand what you are after. No one deserves this.

SHE MADE ME CRY!. I can’t remember a day that I was treated so bad in my whole life the way it happened today in this Abbey’s alterations. If I could I would give her 0. I had a negative experience. She didn't really seem to care about getting my business . 1) she acted like I was the biggest inconvenience of her day. That I was interrupting whatever it was that she obviously deemed more important than earning a new customer's business. 2) RUDE . 3) She threw out an ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS price for my minor alterations 4) she told me that I was waisting her time.

I went into have a zipper put into a hand knit sweater. She charged $20, which seemed fair for the amount of time it would take (it would have taken me two hours to do it). She was friendly, and nice. She will tell you when the work will be finished and put the date on the receipt, so don't expect a phone call. She is a bit eccentric, which I find to be a charming quality in a tailor/seamstress.

Excellent service. Took a monogrammed jacked here to be taken in on the sides and have the sleeves hemmed. The work was flawless and the turnaround speedy. She's also witty and funny! Remember when reading reviews, most people only take the time if they've had a bad experience and want revenge.

I've used her as my seamstress for ten years. She always provides high quality at a fair price. I noticed the negative reviews, if you need someone to stroke your ego, go see your mother, not a seamstress.

I'd give this lady ZERO stars if possible. Where to begin... 1) she acted like I was the biggest inconvenience of her day. That I was interrupting whatever it was that she obviously deemed more important than earning a new customer's business. 2) She basically ignored me as soon as I walked in and just shoved me off to the side as she engaged in conversation with 2 other ladies that were there. 3) She made a rude comment about how my dress fit, which hurt my feelings and made me feel very self-conscious. 4) She let out 2 huge sighs as she assessed my dress, not hiding her annoyance with the impending work she'd have to put into it. 5) She threw out an ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS price for my minor alterations. I was flabbergasted when she told me what she wanted to charge. (As is the rest of my experience wasn't enough, that is the point that I decided I would for sure be taking it somewhere else!!) 6) She acted annoyed with my concerns that she tacked the dress too short for the hem. And come to find out, the lady that I ended up taking it to told me it was marked about an inch TOO SHORT. Shocker.... All in all, I'm grateful I didn't leave my dress with this inconsiderate and obviously unskilled seamstress because she most certainly would have ruined my dress. But beyond that, I have never seen anyone with a worse attitude or worse customer service.

Horrible customer service. Someone referred my mom to this place to get alterations for her dress. A lady, Maxi I believe, who she was working with was rude to her from the beginning and seemed like she didn’t want her service as soon as she started talking. My mom asked her for minor alterations and she started working on something completely different. My mom explained that she didn’t want the sleeves shortened because it shows her undergarments. She got angry and started swearing when she found out she was LDS and was very discriminating and rude. Unacceptable.

She is great at what she does though her attitude and treatment of customers is awful. I jut called to ask 2 questions and she told me I was telling her a long story and that she didn't have time to listen and that I just needed to come down to her store, and lastly "I have to go, okay. I don't have time for this." Yes, she made me feel that I was bothering her.....she is arrogant.

I've had Abby do five or six alteration/hemming jobs. She's about the price of my previous preferred alteration person (which I see some consider high) but they are in downtown SLC and Abby is close. She does an exceptional job. No BS. Just the facts, pay with check or cash upon leaving the article and pick it up on time. If you want a great job she will do it.

Abby was very pleasant. I needed someone close and was cautious due to the bad reviews. Most of the reviews made her seem mean and hard to work with. She reminded me of me of my grandma. Its important to be respectful and understand alterations do take time. This is my first time ever going to a seamstress and I knew before hand to plan accordingly.I needed her to sew my veil on to a comb. She had it done in a week and I was very happy with it. She even sewed a lace lining onto the comb and its looks beautiful. I was just looking for it to be sewed on but I like the fact she was passionate enough to suggest it. My previous experience was with ace alterations and if you read my review it was bad. For any first timers I would use this place and again plan accordingly.

I took a dress in to be altered and needed it within the next 5 days, she charged me $65 to cute an inch off the bottom and pull in 3/4 in on the sides. Absolutely ridiculously high priced, but the work she did was great. She has an attitude that comes across as if you are interrupting her tv show but I don't care so much on the attitude as long as the work is done correctly.

Maxi is very knowledgable, quick, and inexpensive! My fiance needed two suites tailored for a job interview and she had them done within a few days! Plus, the work she did was flawless the suites fit perfectly. We will go to her every time!

One of the worst interactions I've ever had both over the phone and in person the fact this lady owns a business is absolutely wild her attitude about me asking questions and the way she treats her customers when they walk in and the way she answers questions there's plenty other tailors I would take your money else where for sure unless you like rude ass people.

Recently took a pair of jeans to Abby's for hemming, she didn't just fold the fabric over and sew it like other places, she did a factory like hem. Can't tell that the jeans were ever altered. I am very please and would recommend to others.

I take my jeans/pants here and she does a great job. She keeps the hem the same for additional cost. I was researching alterations closer to my work, but after reading some of the reviews of nearby places, I'm sticking with this place. I know she does a good job and is reasonably priced so it's worth it to drive farther to know your clothes won't be ruined.

I ran into Abby's Alterations because I'm on a mad hunt to fix the sequence dress I rented from Rent the Runway for the wedding I'm going to tmwr! The dress is beautiful! But won't lay flat in the back where the zipper ends, giving me a bumpy bum... Not ideal. Panic set in and I googled alterations and ran over here. I threw the dress on the counter and sputtered over my words, basically saying, please for the love of God help me. She listened, took the dress and started ironing and messing around with it. Then handed it back, told me I looked beautiful and that the wedding will be great. I'm so thankful I went here and not some other corporate place but to Maxi, who stopped what she was doing to help me even though she didn't know me. Hands down I thought I was going to run around from place to place hearing, sorry we can't fix that.... And I knew it was a desperate request, to fix a dress THAT DAY, but I thought maybe they can't fix it, but they could at least help make it look just alittle less unflattering and that's what Maxi did. I know where I'm going next time a dress needs fixing, hopefully next time I'll have more than a day to get it looked at. Thank you again for being so kind to me Maxi!!

Do not waste your time even attempting to meet her. She is a very terrible lady who should not work in an industry where she has to be face to face with customers. After bringing in a wedding dress to obtain a quote she sighed several times, asked ME how she was supposed to compete the alteration I met with her about and then had the courtesy to say, "I don't even know if I want to deal with this". Seriously left in tears because it was such an awful experience. Don't make the same mistake I did!

Maxi did an amazing job on my wedding dress, and only took two weeks! I was worried about lack of time before my wedding and she told me two weeks, without charging an expedited fee. Plus the work she did was perfect and she didn't even remove any of the fabric, in case I wanted to resell. Highly recommend!

Maxi SAVED my wedding dress and wedding day!! I was on a business trip in India and bought a dress there; however, the person altering it was not very good and I ran out of time and could not get my dress altered properly!!! So, being back to the States and only having one month, I had to find someone FAST who can fix my dress in less than two weeks!! Luckily, I was referred to Abby's and Maxi was willing to take a look. Maxi really takes pride in her work and she'll do it RIGHT!! As a bride, this is what I needed more than paying hundreds of dollars to boutique shops who will make you wait over six months (which happened to me a well)!! I can see how Maxi interacts with people might be perceived as rude- she's direct, makes comments like "goodness, this dress is really wrong" etc but she's also ESL and ESC (english second language/culture). I got to know Maxi better, and she's actually very funny and interesting person!! She evene admits she's not a people person. So my tip if you decide to do business with Maxi, is focus on if she can get the work done for you. Check in before your due date if she is tracking to finish work, and have BUFFER time!! It's really a different experience thant normal boutique shops, where you WILL pay to be catered to and all that good customer service. For me, considering the hundreds of dollars to expedite if I went elsewhere and my dress was super messed up and just needed someone to do it properly, I came out WAY AHEAD. Maxi finished fixing my dress, stayed up all night to get it right (she underestimated how MESSED UP my dress was) and only charged me $80 bucks...FOR A WEDDING DRESS FIX!! So there you go, consider yourself informed! Last tip: we're all humans with interests and quirks! Maxi and I talked about shoes extensively! She complimented my shoes plenty while tearing down how messed up my dress was!! It was hilarious!!

If I could give zero stars I would; I took a dress to get taken in and after picking it up I noticed she didn't even take it in an inch. The dress looks exactly how I did not want it to look; I had to spend 32$ there and then another 30$ for Nordstrom to fix the mess she made.
