This place is a joke.
First, the prices aren't all that great- they wanted more than $20 to lengthen and shorten cuffs by half an inch. To hell with that.
Second, the turnaround sucks. Other people seem to rave about this point, but it wasn't so with me. I dropped my clothes off on a Saturday and was told they'd be done by Wednesday. I came by on Thursday, a whole day later than scheduled, to pick them up and they weren't done. I was told I should come back in half an hour. I grumbled about it, but I piddled around in a bookstore for 45 minutes and came back. Still not done. I was told to come back in an hour- AS IF I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING BETTER TO DO THAN DICK AROUND TWO NOTCH ALL DAY WHILE I WAIT FOR YOU!!! At this point I had to use some pretty pointed language, though they did have the courtesy to look embarrassed.
And my third point- BAD ALTERATIONS. Use them to take care of hems or buttons if you must, but don't bother taking anything that needs expert tailoring. I took them a blazer to be fitted twice, and after two tries it's still not right. They cannot understand that a jacket is supposed to follow the entire line of the torso; no, they just sort of tucked it here and there where it pleased them. I now have a jacket that squeezes a bit across the waist, bunches under the arms, and flairs out incongruously at the hips. I'd take it back for them to do again if I thought the work would be any good, but it won't.
These people are just not up to snuff. If you want a good tailor, try Nick's on Lady Street. His turnaround time is long, but he'll never insist that you make one or TWO extra trips for him. Plus his prices are about the same and the work he does is truly professional. Ditch this Jackie's crap and give your hard-earned cash to Nick.
