Not impressed, expensive and we had to pay extra to get pants in under two or three weeks! Nor were they happy that it wasn't cash. Never again. The measuring was not professional either. Looking at the wide variety of reviews I wouldn't trust these people with anything important. Rather erratic.

I love Ms. Choi, she is my go to seamstress in Charleston and I send all of my friends to her. She literally took apart a prom dress and turned it into a beautiful sexy rumba gown for my ballroom showcase! She was excellent, fast, and very affordable! Highly recommend her in the future!

I brought my dress to Choi Alterations and she was able to get it done within the three days and still make time to have two fittings to make sure everything fit properly. Lovely couple - but Mrs. Choi literally forgot to alter my wedding gown by the date promised. I had to go back in for another fitting, and it ended up being a rush job when it absolutely didn't need to be.

I won't take my clothes any where else. She always does an amazing job, leaves the fabric so that if it needs to be taken out later that can be done. She is very fast, also steamed my dress before I picked it up!

Just moved from Seattle where there are an abundance of great tailors; so I’m usually very particular when it comes this. Choi’s is exceptional and I have to say the best tailoring I've had. Mrs. Choi is an amazing seamstress and did an incredible job tailoring my Bari Jay bridal dress in only four days! I just moved to the are and actually had other tailors tell me that they wouldn't be able to fit me in (wedding was in a week--typical procrastinator) or if I didn't buy the dress through their store their tailor wouldn't alter the dress. Mrs. Choi is pleasant and easy to work with, and most importantly is able to visualize what it is you want and get it done in a decent amount of time. She's now my go-to tailor and cleaner!

This is the worst tailoring experience I've have ever had. My mom took a pair of her pants and my dads suit to be altered and they said it would be ready in a couple of weeks. A few weeks later my mom went back and at first they had trouble locating the items and once they located the items they realized they had not been altered. They said come back next week and they will be done. My mom came back the following week and they still had not been completed and they were very apologetic and offered to do the alterations that day and deliver them that night as my mom wanted to wear her pants. They delivered the pants and suit that evening and told my mom there would be no charge for her pants. Well when she went upstairs to put them on she realized why there was no charge...THEY HAD NOT BEEN ALTERED! Needless to say these people cannot be trusted to perform the services they offer to do and I strongly encourage you to look else where for your tailoring needs.

I will not use them again. I was told that my items would be ready the same day as they were for a funeral, and they would call me when they were ready. I did not receive a phone call to tell me that they were ready until Monday at 9:00pm. Then they gave me numerous different prices. First it was $13 a piece. Then on my ticket they wrote $29. When I arrived Mrs. Choi said to charge me whatever was good for me and the guy then charged me $36. I have never been to a more unorganized business in my life. I WILL NOT USE THEM AGAIN!

Ms Choi is a miracle worker who has fixed and fitted multiple dresses for me over the years that I did not think she could alter. She recently alter a horrible fitting bridesmaid dress for me in time for a wedding which involved 3 fittings. Her prices are fair and the quality is wonderful. Definitely recommend Choi!

DO NOT GO HERE! DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE! Terrible group. Charged $75 and it still isn't finished. It has been in their possession for more than two months and it still isn't completed. They said it would take a week and it still isn't finished. Horrible pricing. Terrible workers. They are completely incompetent

Horrible experience! Mrs. Choi is very nice but extremely unorganized. I dropped off a suit to be altered and was told it would be ready in two weeks. I did not need the suit immediately and never received a phone call to let me know it was ready so i returned to pick it up two weeks after it was supposed to be ready. It was not ready nor had she even begun altering the suit. She apologized and said it would be done in another week. I then returned a week later to find that it was still not ready and she said she needed another few days to finish it. I don't think she had even started on it. I have never had anything altered by her but was encouraged by the good reviews. She may do good work but don't expect a phone call or your garments to be ready when she says they will be. This has been the most frustrating experience I have ever had with a business.

Nice people, but just don't seem to have a solid business plan. Took a pair of pants in and was told it would take 5 days to have let out. I came back 7 days later and they could not find my pants and when they did they hadn't touched them yet. Was told to come back later that day. When I came back they couldn't find my pants again and asked me to come back later. Also made me pay before alterations were complete with no receipt.

I needed some relatively simple alterations on a dress, with a deadline two months off, but I brought it in anyway and paid $40, which seemed high for what it was. They were busy at the time - prom, apparently - but I wasn't in a hurry, and they said they'd at least try to get it done before I left the country two weeks later. No big deal. I called back before I left to see if it was done. They said they'd call me back. An hour later, I call them again because they hadn't called me back. The dress isn't done yet, so I ask if it's okay if I don't pick it up until after my trip. They say that's fine, and they've had dresses that have been there for over a year. After I got back I tried calling a few times but nobody picked up. No answering service, either. I have phone anxiety and not a lot of free time during the day, so I decided to just go over there a week before I needed it done. I'd gotten the impression that they work on deadlines and since we hadn't given them a hard deadline I figured they probably hadn't done the dress yet. They hadn't, and it took them quite a while of digging to find my order from a month and a half before (so much for the "over a year" thing, I guess). Eventually they did find it and I gave them a hard deadline for four days later, making very clear that I'd be returning around that time of day. I came back as planned, about 30 minutes before closing. Ms. Choi was sitting in the waiting area doing nothing, and when she saw me she was surprised and told me that she forgot and that she'd remembered to do everything else for that day except my dress. I asked when it would be done, and was told to come back in an hour. An hour later, and after knocking on the door three times (locked after closing) they finally answered the door, and they finally had the dress altered. The alteration work is adequate but nothing amazing. I'm not the kind to raise hell, but I didn't even get an apology for any of this. Not recommended, but if you're going to go here, make sure to give them a very solid deadline and be ready to call them repeatedly to remind them to actually do it. Otherwise they'll forget about you and not get the work done. And if you need things done on a tight schedule, make sure to build in a buffer to deal with their disorganization.

Dropped off a bridesmaid dress 3 weeks in advance to have hemmed, not taken in at all, only hemmed. They said "no problem" and told me to come back in two weeks. I came back two weeks later and they seemed to have forgotten that I had an appointment, had no idea where my dress was - when they did find it, it hadn't been touched at all. She re-measured me and she told me to come back a week later, so I agreed to come back and pick up the dress the day before I was leaving to attend the wedding. I came in the day before my early morning flight to the wedding, as they requested. SAME STORY. Dress had not been touched and it took them a few minutes to even find it. She re-measured me and said that she would do it right then and they would call me in an hour to come pick it up. I went to dinner and waited for their call. An hour and a half later I called them to check on it, and "oh yes, it's finished, you can come pick it up". Turned something that should have been "no problem" and made it an incredibly stressful situation. The only reason it's not one star is because, despite the mess, the alterations were well done.

Very personable couple who went the extra mile to finish a suit for me when I needed one done in what was realistically not enough time. They did an amazing job! Suit looks perfect and I will be using them for all my work from now on.

The proprietors seem to be very nice, but I would not recommend. We dropped off 3 items back in September for minor alterations, and despite multiple visits, apologies, and vows to complete the work and deliver to us (over 1 month ago), 5 months later we gave up and asked for our items back. They had not even been touched in all that time. The shop seems very chaotic and disorganized.

quick turnaround and quality work. Choi was able to adjust my suit in 2 days for a wedding at the last minute. Her husband is always working in the store and seems to be a very nice guy as well. The store may appear rough from the outside but inside it shows that they are hard working people. This place is a gem. Prices are about as I expected, but the turnaround and communication were perfect. I would always recommend for alterations.
