I dropped off my dry cleaning on a Tuesday afternoon, the cashier asked me if Friday was an okay turnaround- despite the guarantee of two days on their website I accepted. I asked her what time and she said 5pm- when I explained 5pm Friday didn't work for me, she said that anytime Friday would be ok.
I came shortly after opening and asked about the coupon on their website which stated new customers can bring three items get one free (with various exclusions, e.g. No comforters, leather products, etc.) and no expiration date. The gentleman said he wasn't sure as he walked off to get my clothing from the back. My lightweight quilt was still hanging on. A drying rack and he proceeded to fold it.
He returns to the register looks the coupon over again and again and I bluntly asked whether he would accept the coupon for their website or not as I was now within a few minutes of my start time at work. He hesitated again and asked if I would come back later. I suppose I could take time out of my day to drive back to the cleaners to get the answer but it hardly seemed worth it for a simple question.... Stand by the integrity of your business and the advertising on your website or send a new customer off with a poor impression of your business.
He offered a 10% discount and I left. When I arrived at work I had a sinking sensation to check the blanket that he folded and wrapped in plastic which was of course still damp in the middle. I'm glad I checked so I could hang it out to dry in my car rather than coming back to a damp blanket wrapped in plastic.
There are too many dry cleaners in Charlotte to waste your time with poor business practices and unreliable customer service.
