I asked to get a dress hemmed and to have the sides brought in, and was quoted $45. Didn’t call me when the dress was done. When I went to pickup, Marysia charged me $65, twenty dollars more than the initialy quote. She claimed she gave me the $45 quote for shortening but that it didn’t account for bringing in the sides and said, “you only asked for the price of shortening, you should have asked about the sides!”. I was furious. Could have gotten this done for much less somewhere else for the same quality (not that great). The hem was cut unevenly (one side longer than the other). She looked so happy to get away with charging me more than expected and told me “that’s business”. Sorry, but dishonesty is bad business for you.

Absolutely fantastic and quick work! Needed a bridesmaids dress taken in a few inches about a month before the wedding due to losing several pounds? She had it done exactly when she said would and it fit me like a glove! I felt gorgeous in my dress! And she doesn't mess around, I was in and out in literally 10 minutes for my initial fitting! She just asks that you have the proper shoes and undergarments. I will 100% go back to her for all my tailoring needs!

I do not understand the negative reviews for Marysia's tailoring and dry cleaning. I live a half hour from this extraordinary business and would not take my tailoring to any other tailors and seamstresses. The family is dedicated, talented, exacting, helpful with suggestions, and prompt. If one spends good money on quality clothing, which I do, one should expect to pay for good tailoring, which can improve or ruin a garment. These seamstresses are the best in the area. Seams are duplicated and perfect, threads are cut, sizing is as fitted, dry cleaning is professional. Many of the garments I've taken to Marysia are returned to me looking better than when I bought them. You're paying for her eye and her expertise. None better.

Unlike the previous reviews, they were not rude, though not very welcoming. I had gone to them in a pinch with the need to have a dress taken up in 3 days. While there the seamstress also suggested taking in the seam around my chest. Unfortunately I did not ask for an estimate as this was the only place open and they promised they would get the alterations done on time, which they did. Upon the pick up they told me that I owed $80 (!!!!), as they had to replete the dress after they hemmed it. When asked why she didn't mention this before hand she just shrugged. Worse yet, when I tried it on the hem was uneven across the bottom and the alterations made to the top of my dress were noticeably uneven down the pho corset detail. An unfortunate reminder never to use their services again.

Quality alterations and flexible staff. I'm a lanky guy and they have made my off-the-rack shirts look like customized designer clothing. Quick, affordable dry cleaning is available too!

Over several years, Marysia and Tony have cleaned hundreds (literally) of items for me. Their service is topnotch, and on the very rare occasion that there was a problem, it was corrected expeditiously.

Ever since I moved to Providence in 2003 I have brought my clothes for alterations and dry cleaning to Marysia's. Marysia delivers the finest work when it comes to tailoring and the clothes come back from dry cleaning perfectly pressed. You can tell that she learned her trade in Europe and she is a true master taylor. Only once in all those years Marysia misjudged the length on a pair of pants but made it right by insisting to fix them for free. When my parents visit from Switzerland, they bring Jackets and more demanding items for alterations to take them to Marysia's. Hard to find anybody to do such good work even in Europe. Marysia and Tony are always greet me with a smile and are friendly and helpful. Wouldn't know what to do if it wasn't for Marysia's.

The only reason I am giving 2 because the dry cleaning was good But he tailoring they over charged us with $ 35 for a dress that needed shortening only. Literally 10 mins job.
