Karen Freeman

o Quote from an email from Shondalae, a client: "The first thing I noticed about Karen Freeman was her warm, friendly personality. I felt like I was taking my wedding dress to a friend who genuinely cared, rather than some stranger who was fixing one more run of the mill wedding dress. I had been really nervous about taking my dress to anyone, but I left feeling very confident. Her ideas about how to make the dress bigger (much harder to do than making a dress smaller!) without losing the beauty of it were outstanding. She was able to make the dress four sizes bigger without losing any of the style I liked so much. The work she did was exquisite. I couldn't tell the difference between the original dressmaker's stitching and hers. Even the intricate lace work turned out perfect. I would recommend Karen's work to anyone without any hesitation." Imagine Custom Sewing: I just wanted to rave about what a great job you did in making our custom cushions for my outdoor chairs. Of course we love the perfect fit. The chairs were impossible to buy cushions for—and too hard until Imagine Custom Sewing fixed the whole problem. I love them. You measured carefully the chairs and suggested a sturdy fabric for the outdoors. The zippers encasing each cushion are so nicely done. One wonderful detail is the perfect foam you chose! My housemate just raved about how they fit the chairs and yet were sturdy as well! So that is two votes for your attention to detail. Thank you!

Karen was most helpful. The pieces were tailored well. Pricing was competitive with others in town. Executed in a timely manner. Jamaal Wallace

Very unprofessional...way, way over priced...shoddy work... customer satisfaction is not her goal

I actually had a very bad experience with Karen and I would not recommend her for another alteration. I hired her to alter my wedding dress and from our first encounter, she was not friendly at all...frankly, she seemed annoyed. I knew I should have ended it right then and there but I was in a time crunch and she said she could get it done by my wedding date...Anyway she actually ended up burning my wedding dress when she was streaming it and didn't tell me until I had the dress on at my last fitting...thinking it wasn't that noticeable. Well it was and I had to find another wedding dress a week before my big day..If you have ever been a bride, you are probably cringing right now. Anyway that is my experience with her and she still has $150 of mine..So I guess you can say I'm the one with the bad judgment!!! Do yourself a favor and learn from my mistake!

Karen Freeman has done an impeccable job on a number of alterations for me, from foreign evening wear to intimate apparel. She has come up with creative ideas to solve alteration difficulties, and has found ways to make my dreams come true. Thank you, Karen! In all my dealings with her, I have found her to be honest, fair, and reasonable. I highly recommend her and her work.

Very well done and done fast! Less than a week and my suit was ready! She is a very sweet woman and I would definitely recommend going to her! Prices are also reasonable!

Karen is an amazing seamstress. Well, actually she's more than an excellent seamstress. She's an excellent designer, problem solver, and person. You won't find a better person to work with. She's highly skilled, efficient, and caring. You can count on your clothes and projects looking perfect when she's finished with them. Karen has altered clothes and made curtains for me. She just recently took fabric from drapes that were somewhat outdated and turned them into throw pillows that accent the room perfectly. Thank you Karen! Head right over to Karen if you want it done right.

Karen was fantastic! I needed a bridesmaid dress altered in a short amount of time. She made my experience pleasant and I was pleased with the result. She responds to messages quickly and produces quality work! Thank you! I love the dress even more now. :)

I approached Karen about custom sewing a clothing item that would be part of my ceremonial regalia. From the first moment on, Karen was intrigued and listened compassionately to why I needed the clothing item, what exactly I wanted, and what would be the best materials to use. She was patient, kind, generous, and funny throughout all the idea stages, early mock ups, fittings, and the final delivery. Karen's personable nature and welcoming persona allowed for creativity to flow and made the whole experience so enjoyable. She is indeed warm, generous, and compassionate. I highly recommend her!

I will definitely be a return customer. I found Imagine Alterations to be professional, friendly and fast. I'm very pleased with the quality of work and swift turnaround time.

I know Karen from local networking groups and have seen her work at shows and in her studio. Her detail work and finish work are very professional. I like her design for the portable high chair. I recommend her highly.

Karen is an excellent craftsperson. She took to large, rather wonky, lined drapery panels and made them into four smaller ones. They are actually better now than the original. The price was very fair. I’ll be using her again.

Jeanette Jensen

She was rude. Their was no parking. This business was run out of her apt. She said I needed a appointment first. She seemed to work alone meaning busy.

Squeak Of Death

Brought in my wedding dress two weeks before my wedding. It was at least 10 sizes too big, she got it done in what I think was less than a week. I highly recommend her, she's accommodating and kind and will give you quality sewing.

Charles Sohm

Excellent. Had some suit separates I needed altered for a wedding. Karen was understanding and listened while we discussed what needed to be done to ensure the best fit. Turnaround was fantastic. She got the trousers and vest finished for a final fitting the next day! Couldn't ask for better service and the seams are fine, regular and strong. I would certainly recommend her.

Messaged her to ask about hemming a skirt. She wasn't very friendly at all! $30 to hem a skirt is outrageous! I simple straight hem?! WOW! To her response - I called you after you sent me the message and you quoted me $30. And in my message you did not sign it "best wishes"

Paula Erdmann

Karen did a great job hemming/altering my daughter's prom dress. She did a quality job in a timely and friendly fashion at a reasonable price. We will use her services again!

Lea Frank

Karen did an absolutely fabulous job on my bridesmaid dress! The fit is perfect and she was able to keep the flow and design of the dress with the hem. She was communicative about all the work that needed to be done, upfront about prices, and finished with plenty of time to spare. I could not be happier with the work done and would certainly recommend her!

Larissa Krausz

Karen was very professional. I had a rush job on a brides maid dress, she met me on short notice and was able to get the job done a week before the wedding date. Excellent work. Thank you!

Karen is QUICK, does an excellent job, and charges a reasonable price! I had ordered company shirts that were too large, she had me put one on and found out what needed to be altered in order for them to fit me better. She fixed the problem the first time. I recommend using her service!

Kimberly Evans

Karen is so kind and sweet. She was able to hem my dress for my daughter's wedding last minute. It turned out beautiful. I am so grateful that she was able to fit me into her schedule. I will definitely use her services again.

Rando

I don't appear to be able to leave a review without a rating, but I have no opinion on the quality of service here. I tried to call a few times and received no answer (during listed hours of operation), and drove to the location shown on the map, but it was a residential neighborhood with no business signage, so don't try to drop in.

Nicholas Shanley

Highest recommendation! Truly impressed and gratefull for the huge amount of effort, attention to detail & high craftsmanship that was put to my request. If you want something done right this is absolutely where to go. Thanks again!

Wow! This lady can sew! Karen made the most exquisite minister's stole for me to wear while performing wedding ceremonies. She cleverly used fabric and bead work from the many wedding dresses she has made. I have searched for a new stole for years and never seen anything like this! I am showered with compliments every time I wear this gorgeous stole! The stole's design makes it appropriate for everything wedding, casual to elegant! Exactly what I wanted.

Karin took care of a jacket for me by taking it in a couple inches. Looks excellent! Quick and easy transaction. Highly recommend her to anyone!

R. Bridget

Karen hemmed a pair of jeans for me. She did a great job at a reasonable price in a quick turnaround time.

It's Saturday and I'm getting ready to fly to the east coast for a business trip on Monday. I tried on a pair of my pants and the inseam (crotch area) completely came unraveled. Yikes. So I do a quick search for seamstress in Eugene. I noticed that Imagine Alterations had good reviews. So I call them up, I tell Karen my dilemma , she says come on over I can fix your pants now. Long story short, about an hour and half later my pants are fixed and I'm back in business for more than a fair price! This will be my go to place for alterations and custom sewing. :)

Karen is very skilled, careful and takes her work very seriously and with lots of care.

ok so here's my beef. I made a 4pm appointment, and was asked to be a half hour early for some reason. ok fine. So I show up 3:30 at a residential apartment, unsure of the address I called no answer,. left a message and waited till 4. finally somebody gets there, I go in and she asked me to wait while she returns a text and says she forgot what she was doing and asked how she can help. I should wear my jacket and liner I wish soda into it and she says that she can't work on it because it's been in a smoking environment and her studio is a non-smoking environment. I didn't ask her to smoke, I wasn't smoking in her apartment, and I'm pretty sure the jacket and fleece wasn't going to smoke themselves. Thus she is completely unprofessional, maintains an anal attitude, and has wasted my time cost me money for taking off work, and if it were any more than $50 lost, I would sue her for wasting my time and money. Thus, I'm very disappointed, time is money and unprofessionalism is a waste of time and money. I suggest people don't go to her, regardless of her possible skills.

Got my work uniforms tailored here. The way she calculates the fee for the work is very fair. Great price and my stuff was done quick. She sent me a text when my stuff was good to go and I used my credit card to pay for my alterations on two shirts, pair of pants, and a vest. She wanted to make sure I was happy with my alterations before I left as well.

Tricia Sabine

Karen is friendly and professional. She did a superb job altering a dress from long sleeves to short sleeves. The price was very reasonable, the dress looks amazing, and she had it done in about half the time she quoted me.

Karen is INCREDIBLE. I can't emphasize that enough! When I first got my wedding dress from the designer, I was thrilled! Then I realized that I was not the 5'9" model that the designer seems to assume all women are. The boutique I purchased from had a suggested alterations shop, but after reading some truly terrible reviews, I made a very VERY difficult choice and decided two things: A) I would absolutely not trust the most expensive piece of clothing I'd ever purchased to a place that couldn't be vouched for in over 50% of reviews and B) That I'd do my best to place my trust in someone I found on my own. After a bit of a search, I found Karen. I swear, I must have saved the pope in my last life or something, because Karen was amazing from the start! The dress couldn't be hemmed; it had to be taken up at the waist due to the lacing on the skirt. It also had several (and I do mean that in the literal sense) layers of tulle underneath the delicate netting and lace. A set of 4" heels helped a bit, but the skirt still needed a LOT of altering. Upon our first session, Karen was very open about the situation and letting me know that it could be as simple as pulling each layer up as one, or it could be time consuming and require a layer-by-layer operation. She was extremely open about her pricing and explained everything at the conclusion of the first meeting. Within my price range and feeling reassured, I left the dress in her capable hands. 3 sessions and some good 'oohs and ahhs' later (and a bit of enlightening conversation) and the dress looks and fits like it was made specifically for me! I went in worried about my 'trouble areas,' tripping over the skirt (I'm a klutz) and having it bunch as it was shortened, turning me into a life-size cake topper-I came out with a gown that flatters everything I was worried about, easy to move in, and even more beautiful than the first day I put it on. Outside of all this (I'm almost done I swear), I had to push my deadline up by almost 3 weeks. Karen got the dress done and to me a full two weeks ahead of time and at almost half my expected budget! For Karen's benefit, I will say that this likely isn't going to be the case with every project, but it meant so much to me that it was worth mentioning. I will be plastering this review everywhere that I can, and you can bet that one of the first people to see my wedding pictures will be Karen. She's incredible! Thank you Karen!

I owned an embroidered pillowcase but the fabric around the embroidery had deteriorated. Karen took the original embroidery and very deftly transferred it to a new and larger pillowcase. She also created the new pillowcase from scratch out of a fabric that perfectly matched my old pillowcase. The end result it that the old embroidery looks like it is the original thing on the new pillowcase. Karen's work was excellent and her prices are truly fair. She worked with me, giving me several options and asked how I wanted the final custom project to look. Lastly, she worked quickly. My project was small but detailed, and Karen finished the work the day after I decided how the finished product should look.
