I have been going here for a few years and only have had wonderful experiences. Simple fixes (ex: tear at a seem) are done really quickly (even immediately) while bigger projects take a little longer. Everything I’ve had tailored here has turned out perfectly and I would highly recommend.

I get so many dress shirts and pants tailored and this is by far the worst experience I have had. DO NOT GIVE THIS SHOP YOUR BUSINESS. The woman who works here is very nice but has no clue how to treat customers. I was given a two week pick up date. I went that day and she said to come back the following morning. I came back two days later (figuring I would give her more time) and the clothes were not done. She gave me a whole bunch of excuses about why she didn’t complete my order. I came back two more times and finally told her she needs to call me when they are done. I have come back a final time ONE WEEK past the date she told me they would be done. And she told me they would be done in 10-15 minutes. So I am here waiting for her to be done with them. She has no consideration for anyone’s time and seems to always have an excuse. She did not bother to call me when the order wasn’t ready by time she told me to come back. Very upsetting.

I went here to get my prom dress altered she Gave me a date to pick it up and then sent me text on the day I was supposed to pick it up saying I couldn’t pick it up until a week after. When I finally picked up the dress she just gave excuses to way I didn’t get it on time and didn’t add a bustle like she’s said she would. She gave no discount or anything. Won’t be going back.

I really wanted to like this place, but the problems echoed by other reviewers were also my experience. I took a suit here to have the waist taken in. I had lost some weight so she suggested also taking the jacket in a bit, which was great. I told her I needed it in a week and she said no problem. The suit wasn't done on time, so I had to wear a different suit to my function that wasn't a dark color like the one I wanted. I went a week after the second date she said she would have it ready, and it took her almost 10 minutes to find my suit! She kept looking through piles of clothes on the tables in her shop, and eventually found my suit on the bottom of one of these piles! It was completely wrinkled and covered in lint. She gave it a quick steam, but it still looked terrible. She had lost my nice, wooden hanger, and put in on a wire hanger and said I should probably take it to the dry cleaner to get the rest of the wrinkles out of it! So never again. I gave two stars because the work she did was outstanding, but the customer service and way my suit was returned to me were unacceptable. Avoid unless you have no other options.

I had a disaster of a bridesmaid dress--too long, too tight, gaping fabric in places, etc. Through multiple appointments and fittings the dress now fits to perfection. I am thrilled with the job done and the prices were fair for the extensive amount of magic performed on this garment.

Brought a dress in 3 months ago and she still didnt have it done, keeps post poning the date of pickup. Terrible do not go here you will waste you're time and money dealing with idiot.

I do not recommend this place at all. I took a bridesmaid dress there last year to get altered almost 2 months before the wedding. I would go in to pick it up on the day she said it would be ready and she hadn't even started on it yet. Meanwhile, the store was a mess with dresses and outfits thrown everywhere. It took her a while to even find my dress. This happened 3 times. The 3rd time I went in I just waited there while she did it because the wedding was a few days later. The hemming was fine, but she had to take the dress in and move in the hook and eye clasp and it wasn't sewn on properly (probably because she was rushing) and it broke on the wedding day. Very unprofessional.

Dropped off a blazer to have adjusted. She gave me a pickup date for three weeks later. Came back on the date, and she asked me to come back in an hour because it had been a “crazy week”. Annoyed, I returned 90 minutes later. At which point she asked that I wait just a few minutes more. After 20 minutes, I realized she was doing the alterations WHILE I WAITED. And she didn’t fix the problem. She’s a nice lady, but I won’t be back.

Terrible service. My mom and I dropped off our winter coats to fix zippers the first week of June. I had to call and stop in numerous times starting the end on July after she had it for almost 2 months before getting it back to me. I said I was an ice skating coach and needed it ASAP. She did an awful job on the zipper. It’s September 17th and she still doesn’t have my moms done so she finally said forget it and took it home. 4 MONTHS!!! Her excuse was oh I’ve been doing bridesmaids dresses all summer. You don’t just keep pushing back someone’s order because you have “better” things to do. You should be working on orders in the order you get them not just continuing to push the pickup back over and over and over again. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT YOU STUFF DONE WELL AND ON TIME

Called on a Tuesday to see if they are able to do a last minute alteration (hem) on a dress for a wedding that Saturday. Thankfully they were able to and it was $43. The woman who owns the shop was very sweet. I told her I needed to pick it up Friday so we agreed Friday at 5pm. I showed up at 5pm, saw my dress hanging on the rack with the pins still in it. I don’t believe it had even been touched. She was working on something else (I assume for the person that was waiting) and told me my dress would be ready in a little over an hour. I decided not to wait and pick up Saturday morning. Dress was ready and the perfect length. I would come here again but will definitely call ahead to make sure it’s done before driving there. I appreciate they were able to do the alteration last minute and not charge me an arm and a leg.

Hard to find places that can tailor and set up military ASU’s. Staff was friendly and turn around was fast. I couldn’t be more pleased. They also do dry cleaning and when knocked up my uniform it was completely ready to wear. Will return anytime I need military uniform help.

It took a long time for a simple hem job, and hemming the sleeves and skirt of an A-like dress cost over $50. Due to the lateness I was refunded $10 though. However the work wasn’t that good, and you can see the lining. She did back the back longer to accommodate my big butt though lol. The lady is extremely nice but I think she takes on too much work, which leaves customers with rushed work and long wait times.

I was told I would get my daughters bridesmaid dress back on May 18 . She called me on May 18 and pushed back to next Friday the 25th. We go to get the dress on the 25th and it’s not ready she actually didn’t even start on it. Mind you she didn’t called to tell me that so I wasted a trip. I was told to come back following day on Saturday and it will be done. I told her I can come back on Tuesday May 29th because Saturday we are busy given her two extra days to work on it. I go in on Tuesday and low and behold, it’s not ready. Supposedly it’s done tomorrow. This is the FOURTH time she pushed it back and two times not even letting me know. My little brother is getting married in 10 days and I’m afraid that our bridesmaid dresses aren’t going to be ready in time. Edit: finally picked it up and it was ruined. Her dress was too tight. The strap was longer on one side so it falls off one side. I will now try to take it somewhere to get it fixed and pay more. Hopefully they can do it before next Saturday. So angry.

Very great place! I am tiny and need to get all my clothes altered. I had a very hard time finding a tailor that fit things the way I liked, until I started coming to Gold Star Tailoring -- I fell in love with this place and now I always take everything to get altered here (jeans, blouses, dresses, etc). I have been very happy every time! Both Miko and Emma do a wonderful job, are very professional, and finish things with great timing. They make sure you can reach them when you need to (to drop off your stuff, pick it up, etc), and that is definitely something I admire. Emma even fixed up a dress for me that another tailor in Baltimore messed up while I was away on a rotation - it fits very well! I highly recommend this place!

Great place with great owner! I brought in a suit purchased online, looking for a better fit. Miko made some great recommendations for a nice, modern looking fit. The work was done quickly, and was extremely well done. I decided after wearing it a couple times that I wanted another minor adjustment to the jacket and brought it back in again. Very quick turnaround both times, and outstanding quality work. Favorite suit I have ever owned, and I believe it is due to the superb fit. I love supporting a locally owned shop with people that not only take pride in their work, but care about customers.

My daughter had her wedding dress altered here and it was rather miserable for her. She was told to come in 2 months before her wedding date to start the alterations(this should have started way earlier than this). Each time she was told to come try on the dress, the lady, Emma never had it ready and my daughter was told to come back the next day. This was after my daughter came there right after work or made a special trip out to try it on. The lady seemed like she never had time to work on it and was always busy with other orders(which if you take on too many clients you won’t have the time to accurately spend on them). My daughter was getting so stressed out by her that I(her mom) called to talk to Emma. When speaking with her, I never could get a word in without her interrupting me and never taking the time to just listen to anything I had to say. She was very unprofessional. I would never recommend this business as they do not know how to take on appropriate amount of clients and prioritize altering a wedding dress. My daughter seriously didn’t know if her dress would even be done in time for her wedding! Preparing for a wedding is stressful enough but having such an important piece of your wedding(the dress) cause even more stress by the person working on it is uncalled for and very unprofessional

When I first walked in to drop off my clothes, a customer walked into pick up his order which was not ready. He walked out frustrated saying that it was his second time coming back to pick up his clothes and he would like to be notified next time. I gave her 12 days to alter my jumpsuit and maxi dress. She just needed to cut the length. I called in during the day on the pick up date to see if my clothes were ready and she told me to come in at 5 because they weren't completed yet. I am currently here watching her alter my clothes because she is still not done and it is after 5.
