I was referred here by the business where I got my wedding dress. On Saturday, I came to get fitted for a wedding dress which took an hour to do. I assumed the lady who took the measurements for alterations was the seamstress who’d actually work on the dress but towards the end of the fitting she said that she’d have to ask the seamstress to figure out if certain features could be done for the dress. She said she’d follow up and call on Sunday to give a quote and let me know about the back panel. I didn’t hear back on Sunday and called in late Monday afternoon only to find out that there was an issue due to a flower on the back of the dress which was not mentioned initially. It was unclear over the phone what the issue was. I came in the next day and the seamstress basically said that the dress was too big and could not be altered due to the beading and embroidery. Not pleased with the communication and the lack of clarity on whether the dress could be altered in the first place. The seamstress also rushed the process and came quickly to the conclusion that the dress couldn’t be altered without providing any alternate solutions or help. Not coming back here again.

An incredible tailor tucked away right in the heart of Cameron Village. Peggy and Ling Ling are top notch and did a wonderful job on two shirts and four pairs of pants that I brought them. Impressed with quality, price, and speed. They even stayed late so that I could come in after work to pick up my dress! I had sort of a vague "the bodice doesn't fit well and the last tailor added a weird bra thing that also doesn't fit well" problem, and she knew exactly what to do (the cups you see in these pictures are from Village Tailor). She also found a manufacturer's flaw in the dress that I hadn't noticed and fixed it too! I have attached some pictures of some seams and things that I'm pretty sure they worked on.

It pains me but i have to give this review of 2 stars. Here’s why: - hem of jeans and taking in at knee, for that, we agreed on a week, though the tailor pushed for 10 days. I felt that’s unusually long for a tailoring of jeans - the result: uneven hem (the tailor tried to show me it wasn’t, but it was definitely not a straight hem), and the hem was too short (shorter than I remember). i asked for the hem to be taken down a bit and the tailor said all of the fabric was cut off so couldn’t be done. I’ve not heard of that ever happening. What’s the point of trying it on? The tailor said it was bc it was the original hem. I’m only familiar with that referring to the original thread, not the leftover fabric. In any case, i didn’t ask for the original hem. In fact, I said i didn’t want the original hem when asked (that was extra apparently). In the end, i didn’t pay for the tailoring. Not going back.

Village tailor saved my prom! I'm a girl that grew up not wearing dresses and I just never have felt comfortable in one. Prom was approaching and I was a wreck but I came in and they CUSTOM MADE a romper with a skirt overlay that looks just like a dress!! I love it so much and for the price. Gonna go to them forever!

I've had three garments tailored - two dresses and a pair of pants. Excellent work on all three pieces. There was a minor issue on the pants, but they fixed the problem while I waited - no more than 5 mins. Excellent customer service, always very happy to help. Was able to get 2 garments back within 24 hours and the other garment back the same day! They are currently open everyday which is great for my difficult schedule. Located in Cameron Village, next to Antiques Emporium and above Cheshire Cat. I am so glad I no longer have to drive to Cary or the mall to have clothing tailored. And the pricing is competitive.

This place is the best! I was looking to have ottoman covers made (Google/Amazon failed me) on a tight deadline and not only were they the only shop in the area I contacted that said they could accommodate my request, I brought in fabric and within 48 hours had 3 custom ottoman slip covers with elastic at the bottom for easy removal and washing for an excellent price. Fantastic service all around-- Check them out!

Posting on behalf of my fiance: These ladies were fabulous. I wanted a jacket for my wedding dress but didn’t like any of the designs in the wedding dress shops. The Village Tailor ladies showed me pictures, I picked one, and within the hour they had made a sample for me to try on. Three hours later they had finished the actual jacket and it is gorgeous and the price was so reasonable. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

This is an amazing place to go to get your alterations. They are very friendly and they will bend over backwards to suit you. I needed a suit altered ASAP. I got 4 pairs of jeans hemmed here. I’m short and so I wanted the jeans to be hemmed at my ankles since they were way too long. I spent $75 for them not to do it correctly. When I went to pick the jeans up, they were still way too long, and looked as if they were never hemmed. When I asked them why, they said “it will shrink in the wash”. Seriously?! They had my money and that was all that mattered. I ended up going to Lee’s Tailor and she did an amazing job for way less. Still out of $75 but I want to warn anyone not to come here because they will literally scam you, especially if you’re young/ in college.
