I had the best experience at Tina's! I bought a lace and beaded wedding dress online that was a bit too large and needed to be shortened a bit. I was very nervous about the alterations, but they did an amazing job! Not only did the dress fit perfectly when I came back to pick it up but they also did it in less than two weeks! I will definitely be bringing more clothes needing alterations to Tina's. Another bonus was that they were very kind and friendly. Highly recommended!

They do not measure anything. My daughter dropped her wedding dress off the first week of August, went back for her second fitting appointment on September 12 and they had not done anything to the dress. Now this is her 4th appointment and the dress fit worse than it did the day she bought it. It is a horrible mess. They have done nothing but mess things up and now the wedding is in a week and it is so bad I just don’t know what we are going to do. They do not listen to what you want done.

Tina did my wedding gown's alterations. She did a phenomenal job altering the delicate rouched organza that my dress' bodice was made of. She took her time to listen to what I wanted and was more than willing to make the alterations needed for me to be the happiest. She also did it under a tight deadline. My dress was absolutely beautiful and fit me like a glove. I couldn't have asked for a more professional service or a more experienced person. The pricing was very reasonable too. It was a great experience and I will be returning here for years to come.

I did not have a good experience here at all. I read all these reviews and was extremely hopeful but after 4-5 rounds of alterations, and $550 my wedding dress still does not fit me. It was ordered entirely too large by my bridal boutique (not Tinas fault obviously) and has long sleeves and a beaded back so I knew it would be tricky and based on these reviews I thought I was in good hands, but I was wrong. They disregarded my wants and told me they weren't "possible" and I believed them because what do I know, they are the professionals - but it clearly was outside their skill set. I wish they would have been honest about that day one rather than trying to make it work and actually making it worse. I took it to another tailor and he was appalled by the work they did to the point that he recommended I buy a new dress and start over - which isn't possible because I get married in 2 weeks. So now this tailor is doing the best he can with the limited time I have and I continue to waste money on a dress I no longer love. I realize I'm partially to blame in all of this because I left Tinas with a dress I was unsatisfied with, but after saying the same thing 5 times and getting no results I didn't want to waste my breath. Wish I would've taken it to this new tailor sooner than I did, but again, I thought little more could be done because that's what I had been told at Tinas. I feel taken advantage of and am not looking forward to wearing my wedding dress. **Edit: I ended up getting an entirely new dress. Thats how bad it was. **Response to Owner: I do not recall you stating that you didn't want to work on it, I do recall you saying that it was ordered too big and I agreed, but if you knew for sure it wasn't in your skill set as a tailor then you should have turned me away, but as long as you get the $ who cares, right? Of course there wasn't time to order the same dress in a smaller size because it took 4+ months to get that one, and I thought I was in good hands. I would have never agreed to sub par alterations on my wedding dress, so if you did indeed say that your work would be "wearable" at best, it was not at all made clear to me. When I took it to the second tailor they said, had I brought it to them first, they most certainly would have been able to make it fit my body (which to me, is the definition of a good tailor). I am disappointed in your response and I will continue to pass the message along to my friends/family/coworkers to avoid Tina's as there are far more qualified tailors in this area.

Extremely happy with my experience here. Measured how I wanted my jeans tapered perfectly and did some consultation on how they'd fit. Had them done in two days in time for my vacation. When I came in, they weren't tapered as much as I expected so they redid the work in only an hour and still charged the very low rate. I'm so pleased with the quality, diligent customer service, consideration for my time, and reasonable price point that I wouldn't consider a different tailor.

Tina is amazing and I wouldn’t trust anyone else to make any kind of major alterations. I came to her in a panic after receiving my wedding dress and realizing that they had ordered about 6 sizes too big for me. They were going to have to basically remake the dress and I was worried first of all that it would end up looking like it was made for someone much bigger than me and second that it was going to cost me an arm and a leg. Tina and everyone at the shop worked efficiently, so I was always in and out of the shop in well under an hour. She made sure to reassure me that they would do as many fittings as it took until I was happy with the dress, which made me feel a lot better. And on top of all of that, the price was shockingly reasonable. I still cannot believe how well my dress turned out!! The dress ended up looking like it was custom made for me.

I would not use Tina's Alterations again. I gave one star because they put two hooks on dress to make lace fit tighter on my back . I also asked and paid for the split in evening gown to be extended another 5-6 inches above my knee. When I picked up gown two weeks later split had not been extended, but they insisted work had been done. Also I had checked inside the dress and saw no alteration change; I had previously inspected inside dress thoroughly at home when I received it from custom online store. There is poor communication from the (two-three) seamstress(s) that gather around you at one time. One of the older workers in particular was very rude when I asked about the extension of the split. On initial visit, one of the workers marked on the dress with chalk where to extend the split on the dress. They neglected or forgot to do the work. Not worth the hassle. Customers be sure to take a picture of what you want done and/or have measurements in writing.

I can't let another minute go buy without boasting about how excellent the alteration services are at Tina's Alterations in Charlotte NC. Tina's expert knowledge of sizing the garment just right is exquisite! Her attention to detail and the customer's individual body types are what makes an Excellent tailor and/or seamstress! I would recommend her services all of the time...I've even recommended her to my church's pastor to resize his clergy robes.I will always use her, even if I didn't live in Charlotte -Tina's Alterations is worth the trip and the expert work. I trust her to get it right every time.

There was a lady up front finishing a transaction with a customer when my daughter and I walked in. She did not greet us, even once the customer that she was finishing up with left the store, she never greeted us... we instead greeted her!!! Fast forward... my daughter is in the dress that needs alterations, and while helping us, a white lady walks in, and she STOPPED, LOOKED UP AND GREETED HER while helping us. She ended up not knowing g what she was doing, so she called for Tina to come out. TINA WAS AWESOME AND AMAZING. she was attentive to us, and when the same lady that initially stayed helping up, inturrupted... she looked at her as if to say WAIT, I AM BUSY!!! Yas Tina!!! Thank you!!!!!

I LOVE Tina! I was so nervous to have my wedding dress altered - it had really intricate lace and had to be taken in on the sides as well as in the length. I brought it to Tina's and instantly felt better. I knew my dress was in the right hands! She saw the dress and immediately kicked into action. She knew what to do and then proceeded to alter it so quickly! I came back in two and half weeks and it was ready to go! and guess what? It was PERFECT! I couldn't even tell it didn't come that way. It fit perfectly, was the exact right length, and she had even added a french bustle (which was hidden) I could use to tie the train for after the ceremony. Plus, she made me feel so loved! It was a pleasure being there and I walked out both times with the biggest smile on my face. She's amazing - don't hesitate to go there! Have no fear! She'll take great care of you!!

I brought my wedding dress in 13 weeks before the date that I wanted to bring it home with me allowing enough time for alterations. My dress needed a lot of work. They where able to get the bodice of my dress to look great. I had to go back 3 times to get the bustle close to the way that I wanted it. My biggest complaint about my experience about the shop was there was so many people coming in and out picking up items Tina never really took the time to listen to what I wanted my bustle to look like. I had to send her the same picture twice and remind her a 3rd time of what i wanted the bustle to look like and her response was " well we are just so busy". As a customer who is paying over $300 for alterations on the most important dress of my life I expected an appointment with time to go over what I liked and didn't like. I am still not happy with the way that my bustle is but I am getting married out of state and had to take the dress home with me.

Magical hands I tell you. Tina & her staff altered my wedding dress, my husband's suit, and my husband's Nigerian clothes for our wedding weekend. She made us look really really good and turned around some of our requests in a matter of days. Would definitely recommend trusting her with any alterations that you need - she is the final person that you would need to go to.

I had my mother's wedding dress altered for my wedding last year. I got the sleeves taken off because they were too tight. She was able to take off the full lace sleeves and keep a beautiful scalloped edge afterwards. She's done great with several other dresses of mine as well.

Perfect place for rush alterations! After finally admitting to myself that the wedding dress I purchased online wasn't for me, I was in a pinch to find a new dress. I went out hunting on a Monday & found the one I wanted (my wedding was that Saturday). The assistant at the wedding boutique called Tina's Alterations & explained my rush request. Not only did Tina's Alterations stay open late that Monday night so I could come by & be fitted for alterations, they also had the dress ready to go by Wednesday afternoon for my Saturday wedding. They never once seemed put-out by my rush request. They were very professional and did a fantastic job even in the short time I gave them.

I would highly recommend Tina's Alterations to anyone looking to have work done on their garments. I brought in my wedding gown for alterations and was nervous as I had gone to New York City to purchase it and it was very expensive. I had read the reviews and it seemed like this this was the place to go and they couldn't have been more right!! My dress was very large in the just and had no bustle so it was taken in on the sides and across the just as well as a French bustle added to the back. My dress now fits like a glove and you can't even tell it was taken apart!! AMAZING WORK!!! I'm very pleased.

I took my wedding dress to be altered here because it was close to my work place. My dress was available when I needed it, slightly expensive considering they barely had to alter it.They were very accommodating to my requests. The material of my dress was very delicate so the more it was altered the more it risked the dress being ruined. I was offered a refund if I didn’t like it to take else where. My dress turned out fine for the day of my wedding. A small detail that I noticed but wasn’t that big of a deal. Overall good experience, although I felt like communication and hearing what I wanted was not entirely taken into consideration as I felt like I was being brushed off because they were eager to fix it and send me out the door. This led to the dress having to be altered a few times. My “hips” were to be blamed and it effected where the dress fell and made the material uneven and stick out. Again, I was offered a refund to go elsewhere but ended up sticking with what was done as it was a minor detail that may have risked ruining the dress by continuing to alter the dress.

When the boutique I purchased my wedding dress recommended Tina’s I immediately made an appointment to have a fitting. Honestly the experience was awful from my first fitting to when I picked my dress up. The tailoring was subpar, my dress was literally falling off of me when I took it home from their shop. When I told the lady that the dress didn’t look right she kept telling me that , ‘that’s how it’s supposed to be.’ The hem and the bustle were done well but the fit was AWFUL. I felt rushed through all of my appointments and the tailoring on my dress felt like it had been rushed through. For $500 I expected my dress to actually fit me. I will never go back and wouldn’t recommend anyone having their wedding dress altered here.

I ordered my wedding dress online and when I got it, it did not fit my hips! It was too small! With all the stress of wedding planning, that just made me more frustrated! My supervisor suggested that I take it to Tina to have it altered. I didnt think it was going to be possible AT ALL. She told me I was going to have to come back a few times to do some trial and error fitting to get it to fit. I thought to myself, 'yeah, right'. Before the date we had decided it would be ready for the first fitting, she called me and said it was ready. When I went to try it on, I WAS IN COMPLETE SHOCK!! The dress fit perfectly the first time!!!! She told me she was going to have to add fabric it and I was worried about that, but when I saw the final product, I couldn't believe my eyes!!!! I just kept saying over and over, "I can't believe this!!!!" Tina did an AWESOME job! Fantastic job! I am more than pleased and I would not take my garments ANYWHERE else! I live almost in Concord, NC, but I would travel to wherever she is if I EVER need alterations again! Reasonably priced, nice, fast, accurate...I could go on for days with compliments for Tina's Alterations!!!!!

Tina did a FANTASTIC job on creating my dream wedding dress! I originally wanted to wear a dress that's been in my family for years but was unable to fit it. I purchased a simple dress and entrusted Tina to essentially recreate my dream dress! She manually transferred all of the lace and beading from the original dress to the new one, she also cut a few feet off of my detachable train, added hooks to the new dress for the detachable train to blend in perfectly on the new bodice. I want to give a huge THANK YOU to Tina and her staff for making my dreams come to reality and ensuring I looked stunning on my wedding day!!!! In addition, they altered my father's suit and my mother and grandmother's dresses! All of the work was done with precise detail, love, and passion for her craft! Forever grateful!

I could not be more happy with the service I received from Tina's Alterations. They are excellent tailors. I bought a wedding dress off the rack from Savvy Bride in a size 10. These ladies took it down to a size 0 and it fit like a glove. They did beautiful work, and it was so comfortable - I danced it in all night long. I am so thankful for them! Kudos also for their patience with me when I dropped in a few days after the initial fitting because I was worried the shape wasn't quite right. They did high quality work for a very reasonable price.

Completely altered my bridesmaid's dress in less than 3 hours. They added over 3 inches of material to the bust from the hem. The ladies there were SO nice, didn't seem annoyed that I needed the dress in such a small frame of time (even though I would have totally understood if they were) and you can't even tell the dress was changed in any way. I am writing a review to share the horrible experience I had in this place. I was HIGHLY recommended by Winnie Couture to get my wedding dress alteration done to this place as they have been referring their brides to come here and has had a positive review in the past. However, in my experience, I felt humiliated, embarrassed, uncomfortable, hurt and it made me cry at the end of the day. The lady that took care of me who I believe is Tina, have insulted my dress and made a comment that it was too big on me, it wasn’t worth what I paid for and that I was too skinny I need to gain weight!! I mentioned to her that I have lost 10lbs since the measurement and the response was I lost too much weight that I needed to gain 10lbs and come back next month for her to get my dress altered. She has also repeated saying over and over how I am too skinny and needed to gain weight. She also said to me that my dress is too impossible and difficult to get altered due to the pattern, stiffness and structure of the dress which I can agree but the fact that she had made those comments to me and made me feel horrible and hurt, is so uncalled for. I lost weight because thats what MOST bride would do, not only that, I have worked so hard to reach my ideal body weight and finally maintained it to where I was happy and satisfied. I felt healthier and not obese anymore. After I left that placed, I have cried so much that I could hardly speak and explained to my fiancé about what happened. Because of that, I dare not let this lady ever touch my dress ever again nor ever allow her to do any work on me nor spend my hard-earned money on her. If she had a better costumer service and proper etiquette, this would have not happened to me and I would only wish that this would not to happen to anyone out there who consider going to her. She might or might not have done the job right, but chances are, if she altered my dress and it went wrong, she could have easily blame “me” as she already tried to blame me for being too skinny she cannot alter my wedding dress the way it’s supposed to. Again, after this experience, I felt humiliated, hurt and angry. I have never had anybody insulted me so bad that I felt the urge to write a google review.

However, when I came back, the dress fit no where near like how I wanted it to. I expressed my concern, and Tina went right to work. I came back today to pick it up, and it fits like a dream.
