My experience has always been excellent at Skylark Tailors. They always want my input and try to find out exactly what I am expecting in my tailored garment. When I have bright ideas about how I want to change a garment, they let me know what is possible and how some kinds of tailoring might compromise the look of the garment. This excellent service has transformed my idea about tailoring. When I pick up my garment, I'm always amazed how the garment went from a clothing item off the rack to a garment that fits like it was made especially for me. I highly recommend that when you need tailoring that you will take your business to Skylark Tailors. You will be so glad that you did. I dropped the dress off and voiced my concerns regarding the top/straps and the length. Quote was $68. One week later I went to pick it up and the top was still not up to par, so I voiced my concerns again and they said they’d work on it more for an additional charge, $25. I went back a week later, they said pick it up any time after five on Friday. I waited in the mall because the dress wasn’t done until 7pm Friday evening! The top the looked worse! The stitching was loose and spread out, horrible job. The pleats were then all messed up on the top and the owner hardly budged on the price even when I said I was dissatisfied, he was NOT concern about keeping me as a customer. I paid the initial $68. I then took the dress to another seamstress and they even agreed that it was a horrible, lazy job. NEVER GOING BACK!

My husband had been to this place several times and liked it, so I decided to take some pants to be hemmed there. We came in and there were two customers before us, so we got in line and waited to be serviced. While waiting, a couple of people who were obviously friends of the owners came in and they were serviced right away before anyone else (at that point there was another couple waiting after us). My husband came up and let them know nicely he had been waiting, so they pretty much ignored him and said something in their language and smirked. OK, that alone is incredibly rude and ignorant. Then, when they finally condescended to talk to us, I went in to put on the pants I needed hemmed, and when I came out in a few seconds (literally), they were already taking care of the people who were there after us. At that point, we just left. These people are rude, and obviously do not not the concept of customer service, standing in line, and just common courtesy not to speak of their customers in a foreign language and laugh at them. Wow, our only comical action was to try to give them our business. There are plenty of other great tailors who will gladly take our business and will not find us so ridiculous for doing so and will know the concept of who's "next in line".

Took my wedding dress there to be hemmed and pulled in on the sides. They did WONDERFUL work! My dress had a lot of detail and they went the extra mile by removing the embroidery patches to hem the scalloped bottom. After trying it on to make sure the length was perfect they replaced the patches. I couldn't be happier with their work. The prices were good, the quality was great, and the service was fast!

I am short so I have to have a lot of business attire tailored to me. I bring all of my dresses here to have them tailored or places fixed. I've brought in about 5 dresses that they have completely resized to fit me. I've also had to have them let out a dress a year later after gaining a few pounds, and they had hidden the extra material they took up in the seam. I've had other tailors just toss the extra material. The price here is very reasonable too! This place will be my go-to tailors until I eventually move from the area.

If I could give more stars I would in a heartbeat. Skylark Tailors saved the day with my wedding dress in more ways than one! Not only did they alter it beautifully (in a reasonable time frame and for an even more reasonable price!), they were able to patch numerous stains that were found on my dress. We discovered at my first fitting the bridal salon had sold me a stained dress. As there was not enough time to order a new dress and the stains couldn't come out at the cleaners, Skylark not only used trimmings from my dress as patches, but used the exact same lace flower to patch over so that you can't even tell where the patches are. They did all of this with a smile, and made me feel so beautiful and calm in an extremely stressful situation. I can't recommend them highly enough for all your tailoring needs!

Terrible experiance, the owner is rude and seems to make up the prices and when you ask questions she becomes very argumentative. Go elsewhere, it's not worth it.

I had a poor experience here. I Gave the tailor instructions and he did not follow them. It seemed like he was more interested in styling the clothes for his style than mine. At the end the clothes did not have a tailored look, which was pretty disappointing for the price paid... The tailor also had a poor attitude.

I used to live in Cary, NC and they were close so I'll admit that's why I went to them at first. However, their service, friendliness, attention to detail and pricing kept me coming back. I've had emergency hemming on pants done, I've taken in military uniforms and they know exactly what to do. They're fast and communicative. I cannot recommend them enough. Now, I live 30 minutes away from them & there are more than a dozen tailors between where I live & Skylark. It is worth the drive to go there because i know they'll do a good job, with amazing service at a fair price. would i go again? yes would i recommend? yes have i had problems? nope

I've taken all my formal dresses to Skylark since I was 16! Prom dresses, homecoming dresses, bridesmaid dresses-- they do GREAT work, they have great prices and I'm always happy with the service I get. They're also incredibly fast, too! I needed a bridesmaid dress in two weeks and they got it to me! I always tell my friends to go to Skylark because they really are the nicest people with the best work and are willing to go the extra mile to make their customers happy.

I went in to have my wedding dress altered. I was welcomed warmly by the sweet lady. She helped me to see extra alterations to better enhance my dress. When I return for my last fitting I had a petty coat that also needed altered she again recommend a more flattering way. I was so pleased with her quick and expertly advice. What need to say is I waited til 2 weeks prior to my wedding. I was so pleased to have all these alterations completed 1 week before my wedding. I love Skylark Tailors and can't imagine going anywhere else to have my clothing altered. The owner has fixed several tops and shortened two pairs of pants for me and the craftsmanship has always been outstanding. Also, the garments are always done right on time (as promised) and at a very reasonable cost. Most important, though, is the customer service which is consistently excellent. The owner is so friendly--such a lovely, kind man! I give Skylark 5 BIG stars and recommend them wholeheartedly. :))

These guys are my wedding dress angels. I had my wedding dress altered by a seamstress from Lana Addison boutique, where i purchased my dress from. She made the dress so tight my back fat was coming out. They said the dress needed to be tight so it wouldnt fall since it was a strapless dress. I literally had a muffin top coming out of my back, by the way i weigh 91 pounds. I brought in my dress to Skylark Tailors on Friday night minutes before closing and they noticed it was too tight. These guys were great. They said they were going to let out as much fabric as possible from the back (i needed 2.5 inches from my upper back and 1 inch from the waist). and possibly need to add push up cups since the seamstress from the boutique only added tear drop cups. These guys were able to alter my dress in 2 days. By Sunday I had my dress and it was NOT too tight. My back was NOT oozing out. I was so happy i brought my wedding dress for them to fix. I only wish i would have had them alter my wedding dress from the beginning. These guys know what they are doing and really helped me out. They made my wedding day special because my dress fit. Thank you again!

Poor attitude. I asked them to fix 3 buttons, which should not take more than 10 minuets, and they said come after two days. Although it says “same day service” in front, they asked me an extra charge to come the following day. Finally he said “don’t waste my time” .. rude person. I wish I could put no stars.

Everyone at the shop was so nice! They reconstructed my sisters wedding dress and my maid of honor gown in under 2 weeks! It was also during prom season so I was thoroughly impressed! They are always extremely friendly and do a great job. They know what will make you look good so just trust their advice. In summary Skylark Tailors = Awesome.
