Quick and well done work. Spoke with the owner directly and he is a super friendly man who really seems to care about his work! We were very pleased with the pants that he altered for my husband for our wedding they were a perfect fit.

Very unhappy with service and work. I dropped my daughter's prom dress off on 3/19 for prom on 4/12. I was reassured there was plenty of time to get what she wanted done. On 4/4 I xall3d and was told he was currently working on it and it would be done on 4/5,4/6 at the latest. I called early evening on 4/6 and was told it would be done that night and I would receive a phone call or text. Well, I never received anything. They are closed Sunday and Monday so I called Tuesday and got a completely different story, he was getting to her dress next and it would be done Wednesday. Well Wednesday comes and I get told he hand stitching the neck line and I can pick it up Thursday. Well I call this morning (Thursday) and get told its done, i tell them I'll be therr around 1 to pick it up. I got stuck at work and sent my husband at 3 oclock and he was told they werent sure if it was done as it was still on the mannequin and the guy stepped out. I had to call and explain that at this point,done or not to get it off the mannequin and give it to my husband. The communication in this place is obsurd, and so is their customer service. I will bot be returning and i'll will definitely be warning others to stay away. Its just too bad therr arent negative stars to put down for the review.

My dress was tailored for my wedding in a timely and professional manner. I will have no reservations about returning when I need alterations!


I said exactly what I wanted and was told the price and estimated finish date on the spot. Got ordered a crinoline slip with exactly the amount of poof I wanted and went back in a week later. My second fitting my dress was measured with it on to get it hemmed how I would like and the waist was taken in. Picked it up 4 days later and it was perfect.

I’m not here to bash or be hateful but simply here to maybe help better a business and or warn people. He had my dress for 2 months and he said there would be no issue at all and it would be done in plenty of time. I waited a month and then called and it was like a search to find my ticket and when it was finally found it was like a question on what he was doing to it and didn’t even start it yet. 2 weeks before I was suppose to have it I called and he said yours is next I got prom and someone else’s to do. 1 week before I needed it I called and he said yours is next call me in a couple days to schedule a time to come in. 2 days before I needed it he said he was just now getting to it and it would be ready in 2 days. The day I was told to come in I walked in and he acted like he never told me to come in at that time/day and still questioned when I needed it by. By this point I wasn’t leaving without my dress because I had a flight out to get married somewhere else so I sat there as I watched him finish my dress and it wasn’t even a good job. My suggestion is 1. If you can’t take on more items and can’t get them done in a timely manner and as promised don’t take on more projects. 2. Be better organized. I shouldn’t have had to call several times and each time it was like he had no idea what he was doing with my dress. 3. Have a secretary to handle all your projects so you know when something is due. I came home that night crying because I was not happy and I got a whole $30 off my bill. He was nice to me every time I talked to him but I wish my dress wasn’t rushed on at the very last minute.

I completely agree with the negative reviews shared by past customers. Takes him FOREVER to get back to you- had my clothes there for over a month and it was still not done when I went to pick it up... days after he said it would be done! In addition... the job was RUSHED and very poor quality! I could do better and I don’t even own a sewing machine! Very disappointed- don’t waste your time or money.

Useless, never returns calls, never follows up, always has an excuse. Provided this man with 4 pillows and new fabric 1 year ago for reupholstering to match our new chair!!!! As of today I have given up on them ever being done. Last October we weren’t in a hurry for them but after about 2 months we decided to check on them. We drove to the store and they had moved a few doors down due to a broken pipe damaging much of the store. We had to track the store down and the owner (Ray) gave us the first excuse but at no point were we called first to be told our pillows were damaged and had to be cleaned. Then we got the excuse the cleaners were holding them and not finished then after another month or so we are told the cleaning is done but now the insurance company is holding up the release of damaged materials then after that we were told they have to find the material we paid LaZboy for had not been found in storage and that he would order replacement if we got him the reorder number, which was done within a week after we were told he didn’t get the first send( again no follow up to check with us. Then the reorder didn’t go through but we had to call to find that out. Now at about a YEAR later we are told his payment for the new fabric was returned and a new color had to be ordered!!!!!! Please note there was never any due diligence to follow up on any of these issues unless we called!!! WE ARE DONE!!! No one should do business with this company if they want anything in a timely manner! We cannot speak to the quality of work since we never saw any actually done!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I never post negative comments but I feel it necessary to inform people about this alteration shop. I brought my wedding dress and my 10 yr old daughters dress in for alterations in Jan. I called left messages and no response so I finally went in and he hadn’t finished it yet. Got every excuse in the book why it wasn’t done. Then I finally went in for my first fitting in April and he needed to take it back out in the sides. My daughter who needed just a sash sewn on wasn’t even touched. So he told me come back in a week and assured me they would both be done. Well I come in and now he says he worked on the wrong dress. They couldn’t find the dress and I was starting to freak out. Finally he finds it and hasn’t finished my dress and never started on my daughters. I waited and wasn’t leaving until it was finished. There nice people but in wayyyy over there head.

Excellent service! High quality! Quality work, speedy service, friendly proprietor and staff! Having recently moved to the Myrtle Beach area and not knowing many folk, I used the Google Assistant to find a nearby garment alteration/repair business. McTailors Alterations & Embroidery Boutique was the closest to my home and that was a lucky happenstance. I took a much-treasured garment in for minor stitching and repair and was truly impressed with the result. My garment was repaired while I waited and the work was excellent -- indistinguishable from when the item was brand new. I'm sure a much-in-demand service such as McTailors is not always able to complete jobs "while-you-wait," but they have earned my repeat business. I highly recommend McTailors Alterations & Embroidery!

Went in to have my daughters dress for the military ball altered. He had several gowns there for sale at really good prices. My daughter found one that fits her like a glove. She looks beautiful in it and she loves it. Ray was a big help. Very nice man and very personable. I'd recommend him to anyone needing a tailor or a dress for a special occasion.

This was literally the worst experience I’ve ever had in my life. I brought my wedding dress to Ray in July I tried it on, I was measured and I was told I would get a phone call for my next fitting. My wedding was in November and he said we had plenty of time to get the dress done. A month went by and nothing, so I called and was told he would reach out to me to set up an appointment. I waited another few weeks when I reached out yet again to make an appointment in September. It got pushed back to October because of the hurricane which is totally understandable but I was never contacted to reschedule for another appointment. When I finally went in my dress was not touched at all from when I dropped it off in July. I then made sure to make appointments every week considering I only had a month until my wedding. I was told every time I went in that it would be finished and every time I went in it was barely worked on and whatever work was done was done poorly. It seemed as if he was nervous to work on it. He was rude and always made it seem as if I was the inconvenience. And every time I called to check on the progress he would continue to be rude and nasty or have his employee tell me it would be done and then I would show up and it wasn’t finished. When I finally picked it up, he wasn’t in nor was the dress finished. The employee asked if it was ok and I said yes and left because at that point I was a week away from the wedding and didn’t trust him for another second with my dress. The top of my dress is lace and the sleeve was bunched up, he told me that was because it had to be steamed which was another lie. I had four layers to my dress and the very inside one was longer then the outside one which he said that’s the way it’s supposed to be done which was a lie. I left crying, hating my dress and having to pay another tailor for the work he couldn’t manage to do in the 4 months he had my dress. I asked for half of my money back and he refused to give it to me and stopped responding to me. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF A MASSIVE HEADACHE AND NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE AND DEAL WITH THIS AWFUL PERSON.

It took them weeks longer than promised to alter my daughter's prom dress, we were literally stressing until the last minute. Then she tried it on and it was still wrong, so we had to do it all over again. No discount, no real apology, nothing. We won't go back.
