Very nice about alterations or just fixing holes in old clothes

Don't let the expensive price and seemingly polite and professional owner/manager fool you. This alterations shop does not stand behind their work nor do they value their customers. I had a very expensive cashmere sport coat that I took here looking for guidance on the fit. They recommended letting the sleeves out and when questioned about the visibility of the creases from the previous length sleeves they assured me they would not be visible enough to be a concern. They proceeded to make the alterations and when I came to pick up the coat and inspect the work i found my $600 coat had noticeable creases where the cuff had been. They had assured me prior to doing the work that this would not be a problem so I expected some sort of compromise. They refused to take responsibility. I am the type of person who is happy to pay more for quality service so I was initially attracted to this business specifically because of their high prices. I assumed the high price reflected the care and quality with which they would approach their trade. I was however extremely disappointed when I came to find that when confronted with an issue with the quality of their work the owner/manager became very rude and confrontational, going as far as to lecture me about the proper way to run a business. This is something I might expect from a low price establishment however at a place charging such a premium I expect to be treated with more respect. There are many other tailors in town which will charge less and work hard to ensure you are a happy customer. I will never take my clothing to this business again and I would suggest that if you care about your clothing or your money that you do the same.

I have never encountered such poor customer service. The owner talked about me behind my back with another customer when I asked if I could have a 5 day turn around on a couple of dresses with minor alterations after they had proposed a 3 week turn around. When I came to pick them up the price was more than what I even paid for one of the dresses. When I questioned the cost, she would not negotiate and became rude and confrontational just like one of the other reviewers commented on. She also would only except cash or check which was a HUGE inconvenience. I went to this place thinking I would give my neighborhood store some business, but I will never go there again and make sure everyone knows about my experience.

I came to Shahla with my grandmother's 65 year old wedding dress, a family heirloom that had also been worn by my great aunt at her wedding. Shahla painstakingly removed the sleeves, and then hand stitched many aspects of the alteration as such an old dress and delicate lace could not take machine work. She also coordinated many appointments with me to perfect the fit, though this was more difficult as I live out of town. Shahla was also very innovative on many aspects of the alterations, including attaching a corset to the interior as well as adding hooks to take the strain off of 65 year old buttons. In the end, the dress was absolutely flawless and I thoroughly enjoyed my wedding day. As did my grandmother, who was proud to see me carry on a family tradition. I would highly recommend and trust Shahla with this kind of detailed work in the future.

Thank you Shahla for 8 years of excellent customer service and quality work. The care and pride you take in your work shows in every piece of clothing you have ever altered for me. The best in the Triangle by far.

I needed a button fixed quickly... I drove up and she took care of it in 5 minutes, with a smile. Very nice people!

I would go nowhere else for alterations. Shala can do anything and has, not only for me, but for my husband and son. I trust her judgement and know that we will have garments that fit well and look good.

We had a really good experience working with Shahla for my wedding dress. She did a beautiful job. I genuinely enjoyed going to her shop to spend time with her while she was working on my dress. She came highly recommended to me from my wedding planner. Yes, it is pricey but typical for wedding gown alterations.

We send all of our clients to Shahla!

The most unpleasant person who ghastly overcharges. Wanted pants hemmed -straight up job, no frills or extras- she charges $20 and has a minimum of a week wait time!! Go to Krystyna's on Kildaire Farm Rd. She did a fantastic job for $8.50 while I waited. Lululemon should be ashamed to outsource jobs to this "place of business." Too bad I had to give one start to get it posted, should be zero.

BEWARE: Shahla takes advantage of brides. My daughter took her wedding dress in to be altered (needed cups and a bustle). Shahla quoted her a price of $100-$500 for "a really big job." Fast forward two months and Shahla calls my daughter to come pick up her dress and told her it would be $750! There was no call made to check if this was OK (this would NOT have been OK). The cost of alterations is 75% of what the dress cost. I asked Shahla to make it right, and she didn't think there was anything wrong with charging 50% more than her estimate. Even automotive places will call you before doing a job that is way outside what they originally quoted. Shahla is unscrupulous and is unwilling to right her wrong.
