So nice, and excellent work!

Let's first start out by saying, I am picky about my suits, and I like the fabric to drape nicely and not have rolls. I have had 2 suit jackets tailored here. I took them to Duke's for their good rep and awards. On the first suit, I needed the back and waist taken in on the jacket along with the sleeves. The sleeves were perfect, however, the back of the jacket was not taken in correctly, and the jacket developed a roll by the collar. It turns out they never opened up the neck (collar) of the jacket to sew it correctly. Also, I had to have the seat of the pants taken in, and the way they did it made my pockets pucker. I went back to drop off my 2nd suit and brought the first one, and asked them to fix the roll in the collar. She just pressed my first suit and gave it back to me. I should have known not to give them the 2nd one. The 2nd suit needed waist supression on the jacket and hems on sleeves and legs (simple stuff). The jacket came back with a point coming out the back from where they started taking in the waist. I put it on, and it looked like I had a 6 inch pimple coming out of the center of my back. completely unacceptable. My complaints went unheard, and I thought it was better to take it somewhere else. I will never have anything tailored at Duke's again. Even though, Duke's is about 20 minutes closer to my house than my current tailor, but I NEVER have a problem with my current tailor, and they fixed all the things Duke's did wrong for me for a reasonable price.

Tailoring service was awful! I had a pricey bridesmaid dress altered for cap sleeves that were too large, I had the zipper redone in the back and I had the dress hemmed. The cap sleeve sewing came undone during the wedding reception on both sides and I had to use pins to keep it from falling down. The zipper piece was not sewn down and kept popping up and so we also had to use a straight pin to keep that together. I would have just pinned everything myself and not gotten alterations if that was going to be the case all night anyways. You can tell it is an alteration problem as the dress material is not torn (so it literally just unthreaded). I told the lady I would bring the dress in so that she could see the issue and she refused and told me no refunds. Think twice before you come here.

I really wish this could be 0 stars

Went in to have a simple dressed hemmed and it looked TERRIBLE! They tried to blame it on the fabric, which is ridiculous. Also, it was $19! That’s more than I paid for the dress. Go to Lees tailor instead. I’ve learned my lesson!

Horrible customer service today after having taken things here before and had a good experience with the same lady. She was rude, overworked, and stressed and it showed. She was trying to charge twice what she has charged me in the past to have a dress hemmed and when I told her I would rather take it somewhere else she told me I had to pay $5 for a fitting fee (which is crap...I said no) and she was arguing with me about how much I was willing to pay...she called me cheap when I said I wanted to take the dress elsewhere...all the while she had another customer on the phone where she couldn't locate their dress and kept telling them how tired she was.... I will not go back.

I have been going to Duke's for the past 6 or so years and have always been pleased with the quality of work and the service. She is also very accommodating when I need a quick turn around. I have gone to other tailors before due to Duke's being closed on sundays, but I did not nearly receive the quality that I get at Duke's, so I always return.

Like others, I wish I could post no stars! I went to see if I could get the slit in my dress sewn down a little. The lady at the counter VERY RUDELY told me it would ruin the dress (which was perfectly fine to tell me), but when I told her I was just going around checking prices at different places she shooed me away with her hand and said, "take it somewhere else, don't come back here! I don't want to work on it!". There was another customer in the room trying on a dress and overheard the whole thing. I didn't even get anything worked on and the customer service was ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! I cannot stress enough to not go here!!!! If they want their customers to become repeat customers they really need to work on their politeness and desire to work for whomever comes through the door.

If I had the option of zero stars... I called Duke's about adding cups to dress and she suggested I come in. I came in less than 10 minutes later. I showed her the dress and asked if cups were the best solution and she said yes and told me to try on the dress. I put my dress on and she had various sizes of cups to try to see what was the best fit. Most still showed through the dress and she suggested I alter the dress b/c my waist was short for it. I stated that I preferred not to alter the dress and that I'd like to think about it. I went to the fitting room to change and came out and told her I'd think about it and thank you. Before I could finish that statement she told me "it was best I never come back and that I should find someone else b/c I didn't trust her". I restated I just didn't want to alter the dress (it's cheap and not worth it) but she let me know again not to come back. I was very shocked and really didn't even know what had just happened. There was another gentleman in there waiting and heard most of our conversation. I was trying very hard to be discreet in the shop b/c the dress is very revealing (hence the cups). Best advice, find someone else.

Terrible service. I was told my tailoring would be done on Tuesday, I came in on Wednesday and they had lost two of my dresses. When they finally found them the dresses were undone, so I had to come in a day later to pick them up. When I picked up my dresses the work was awful. The hem was crooked and the seems didnt line up. Will not be back.

I've had about 7 suits and various dress pants tailored at Dukes over the last three years. I recently went in to have an old suit adjusted. The tailor checked the coat which could be adjusted but when she checked the pants it was determined they could not be let out any more. This was an old suit so I said I was just going to buy a new suit instead of having only the coat adjusted. She rudely told me I owed her $10 now for the "fitting". The adjustment was only $20 so I just had the coat adjusted. I was rather irritated because she never mentioned a "fitting fee"which took all of 5 minutes. I think it was rather short sighted on her part. I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on.

Do not use this tailor. I had 8 shirts from Brooks Brothers taken in on the sides here and the shirts are now ruined. I took the shirts to the tailor at brooks brothers and she stated that the shirts were ruined. They refused to refund the $208 I spent to have them tailored or to replace the shirts.

This small family-run tailor shop is a jewel. The staff is very friendly, the work is impeccable, and the price is far below what you would pay at most tailors.
