Having worked with over 15 different tailoring houses over the past 5 to 6 years (from low end made to measure to full bespoke with a master cutter out of Naples, Italy), I can say without hesitation that P. Johnson does amazing work; they are one of the best tailoring houses on the market, especially since they own their own production house in Tuscany, Italy. They also have a Savile row trained cutter who oversees their digital patterns in Italy. The staff always returns calls/emails promptly (which is not always the case for many tailoring houses who grow too fast and only focus on their high-end, big spending clients first). They are also willing to tweak your pattern --- be it your shirt, sport coat, suit, trousers -- until the fit is perfect. While their house style is quite soft reminiscent of Neapolitan tailoring, they are not glued to just one kind of fit. You can have them make as many cuts as you wish and they have several models to choose from.

I'll keep it short. I'm forever told by my wife that I love to tell a story. I spent weeks scoping alternative options in NYC only to remember the brand I had always wanted to try when based in Australia, P Johnson. I hadn't realized PJ had expanded internationally. In my opinion, PJ's products are second to none and the New York team are amazing to deal with. I was after a great fit (often feeling uncomfortable in the simplest of off the rack items), that was well made, at a fair price and without any unnecessary stress. In particular, my first item was my wedding suit, so I wanted to entrust this with a company I believed could get it right, for my own sake (read the first sentence again). If that's what you are after then it's certainly worth getting in touch with the team at PJ.
