Very quick and cheap service but you undoubtedly get what you pay for. Nothing will be like how you request it, they always cut the clothing too large, and it often looks like nothing was ever done to your clothes.

5stars for my pant hem. It was $5 and done in 15 minutes. Went to an art gallery next door, came back, and my pants were finished. I can’t comment on a full tailor, but for a quick hem this was exactly what I was looking for. Its a very fast paced, old school, bare bones place. My jeans were handed to me, not steamed, not in plastic, but for $5 I wouldn’t expect anything otherwise.

Rude service and don’t deliver on promises.... I brought my jumpsuit here to be altered (straps crossed in the back rather than straight). I specifically asked whether I would have the ability to fasten and unfasten the straps by myself - in other words, to get myself in and out of the jumpsuit without help. (Especially important because you have to take the entire jumpsuit off every time you go to the bathroom...) The tailor said that I would be able to do this IF I brought him some specific fasteners (G connectors) which I went out of my way to find and purchase in the Garment District. However, when he was done, I tried it in the store and was NOT able to fasten and unfasten the straps by myself. The tailor started arguing with me and interrupted me multiple times, claiming that he had never said this would work and he was “only doing what I had asked”. This was definitely untrue and I was stunned that he would pretend otherwise rather than admit that he was wrong. If he had been honest with me, I would have been very understanding - however he chose to pretend that I was lying. I will not be returning here in the future.

Great place, fast, and high quality service. I’ve broken a zipper in my favorite coat (on one of those windy, chilly days), entered from the street without any advanced booking, and their helped me on the spot repairing the zipper, and they didn’t even charge me a single dollar for that. These guys are absolutely fantastic. They do all sought of alterations and they are done professionally. Their prices are reasonable, actually the best I've come across and the work is done quickly. The front windows have a strange assortment of quirky objects and the inside walls are covered with baseball memorabilia, but don't let that deter you from going in, you won't be sorry.

Place is a hit or miss with the quality if work. I would say for every one hit they have 10 misses in a row.. for that reason I say this place can do A LOT better. Service is the worst and they WILL jerk you with prices.

I always go here to get my pants hemmed or get a coat taken in. They do pretty good work. It's inexpensive even though they did increase their prices. It now costs $4 for a pants hemming. They are very fast with pants hemming, usually done in 45 minutes or less. The best part is that you can go to il laboratorio del gelato which is on the same street for some good gelato and come back to get your pants!

Best of the best place to get your items tailored. You walk in see the workers and they pretty much help you right on the spot. CASH ONLY Clothes is ready in 10 minutes usually. Sameday alterations are the best. Everyone is friendly and a freemason I assume

Midtown wanted an astronomical amount to take in a lined skirt. I brought all my skirts to Orchard Express and they charged a fraction of what midtown demanded. The skirts were ready the next day and the work was excellent.

I called ahead to ask about getting pants made. They said yes. But when I got there they said nope they don’t do it. I know it was a misunderstanding. But I was bummed. So FYI. They don’t do custom tailoring. Just alterations. And yes cash only.

I've been going here since 1998 or so. The prices are great and the work is very good. They are also fast and the most courteous and respectful people anywhere. Around this tailor, the shops have turned into galleries and high-end stores that no one seems to really patronize. This place, on the other hand, is usually busy with customers and it's a dying breed of store that hasn't been squeezed out by luxury blight.

I love this tailor shop. Run by friends with visitors who are treated like family, this place works tirelessly to mend my clothes in a hurry. While the prices can sometimes seem subjective, I can't complain about the quick turn around. Always a fun environment to see older New Yorkers share stories and hugs. This tailor shop has real character!

I wouldn't recommend for anything other than patching torn jeans. I've had three pairs of pants tailored here and each was a bit shoddy. Their turnaround time is also pretty slow. :/

They are very nice people but they ruined a dress.... I went there to have a dress taken in because it was way too big and now they made it way too small.... I want to have it fixed they said they fixed.. it still doesn't fit So I basically just threw out a $100
