I brought in a $270 brand new bridesmaids dress to be hemmed and taken in a bit at the top. I dropped the dress off Sunday, they said it should be ready by Wednesday and to "call and see if it's ready." I gave them several extra days, calling the following Monday. It was not ready. They said to "call and see if it was ready" the next day. I called Wednesday, and yay a week+ later they said it was ready. I go, try it on. There is a snagged thread/pull across the front of the dress on the bust that is very visible. The zipper barely zips up the back and is too tight. I show them this, they say they will fix it right now in 30 minutes. I express concern that they may let too much out because taking it in is what I needed done in the first place. Although I had other things I needed to do, I wait. The second time I try it on is when I notice two small spots on the front of the dress, near the bust and near the strap (pictures attached). And low and behold, one side is too big. They say they will take it in again and when I ask if that stain is blood? They say it was already there. An hour later after two attempts to fix it, the top finally fits enough that it's acceptable. However, when I attempt to bring up the stain again, they say that the guy remembers it there yesterday when he was working on it. Ok? So it was there yesterday after you've had it a week. Again- brand new dress, never been worn. Trying not to be rude, I point out that they gave me a dress with a snag across the front, and if they didn't notice that, then I doubt they would have noticed the dots. They say something along the lines of "I'm not saying it did or didn't happen here, I'm just saying there is nothing we can do about it." I ask for a discount, they call "their boss," can't reach him so they hand me 15 dollars in cash. $80 dollar charge, $15 discount.... I leave with a stained dress, that I have not yet worn, that cost me $335 dollars and I will now have to pay for dry cleaning. So basically, don't go here, and if you do, make sure you have lots of time and at least take pictures of your items before you drop them off so that they can not pull a "It was already like that."

I have been going here for the past 3 years and lately every time I go with the same thing they charge me a different price. It's also never ready when its scheduled to be even if you call. They seem to be overwhelmed and under staff that the quality of work is just not the same.

What's not to like? I'm 5' 8" and 340lbs. NOTHING fits off the rack. When I buy a suit, I go to Express Tailors, get measured and head off to Katz's. When I get back, I try it on and it fits like it was made for me and I don't break the bank paying for it. Listen, I've been going to these guys since the 90s. Go in, tell them exactly what you want, let them take the time to measure, and when you pick up, try it on THERE!

I've been going to 'Delancy St' since I was a teenager and have been using their tailors all the while. I can't say enough abt the value, their professionalism and thier skillset .. I've taken suits, slacks, coats, shirts leather items and denim thru there w no issues no matter what city or state I live in I'll always return to D Street to get my items tailored.

I Dropped off a suit early in the morning and I clearly told them what needs to be Done and we agreed on a price they told me it would be ready later that day and when I came to pick it up it wasn't ready yet and they wanted much more money than we originally agreed upon, even though I showed him the ticket that he gave me that clearly says the price on it, he still charged me more money

Place is expensive and horrible quality work! As if they unstitched my clothes and forgot to stitch it back. Annoying had to have someone hand stitch all the work again. Service is poor too, left my stuff to be picked up the next day (so they're not rushed) and I come back two days later the stuff is still not finished or ironed. You can definitely find a better tailor..

i go to this tailor for all my tailoring needs. i started with simple things like getting jeans hemmed ($5 hems while you wait!) but i have also gotten dresses and jackets taken in and they always do an amazing job for a very reasonable price - and quickly. plus, they are super nice. anytime i have gone to another tailor out of convenience it has been a frustrating disappointment, so i am literally never going to get anything tailored anywhere else ever again.

The owner has terrible hospitality skills. Cash only policy and exorbitant rates. He's rude and has no problem treating people like garbage. Should be put out of business. Quoted prices are not accurately expressed over the phone and not honored in person. Run to another shop!

Dropped off 5 pants on Monday after noon at 1:30pm. Junior told me it would be ready on Wednsday. Went to pick up pants at 1: 30PM on Wednesday, pants not done because they misplaced them. I left and returned at 3, still not done. Waited there for 35 minutes. While waiting, many others had similar situations. I was charged almost 100 dollars for hem and tapered of the pants. Workers were slow and had poor customer service. Told every customer to come back in 30 minutes.

They are very quick and do really good work. The fitter takes pride in what he does and is very detailed. They’re on the pricey side but the finished product is done very well. The space is kinda tight and there’s little to no privacy during your fitting.

Great place! The guys are awsome and work fast. My only concern is they ask that you call them before you pick up your things. When I called I was told my clothes were ready.when I got there I ended up waiting 2 hours because nothing was completed. However, they are nice and the tailoring was done perfect. Rafael is my go to guy for dresses espcially! He make the fit just perfect!!! So it was worth the wait!!!

Very disappointed in this place. Careless, sloppy workmanship. This was my first and last visit. Be warned - this place is a disaster. I took 2 jackets for alterations - 1 cashmere and 1 wool. One needed to be shortened and both needed the shoulders narrowed. They charged me $190 - way overpriced. But they had already been fitted and pinned and I didn't know where else to go. When I came back to pick up the jackets they were unwearable - fabric bunched up front and back, buttons sewn back on haphazardly, bits and pieces of loose threads all over the jackets. They were a shocking mess. They refitted me and told me to come back in a week. When I went back today, the sleeves were so short they were inches above my wrist. They told me to come back in an 1/2 hour but when I returned the work wasn't finished. So I waited and much later they gave me the finished garments. Still far from perfect but by then I was just glad to get out of there. The only reason my review shows one star is that I wasn't able to post this until I clicked on a star.

Worst tailor I've ever been to. Not only did it take them 3 tries with my pants, they ended up ruining them. And they stained my shirt and refused to do anything about it or accept any blame. Manager was rude. Definitely never going back

I dropped 3 dresses that I was supposed to wear at a wedding as a bridesmaid. They told me to pick them up after 2 days. My flight was leaving the same night. When I got there none of them were ready. I had to leave for my flight with no bridesmaid dress. Do not use this shop.
