These guys are amazing! Their is definitely a language barrier there but surprisingly they nail my suits every time. I even started bringing my casual cloths to get done. The place is no beauty. Think cramped space, messy and flimsy fitting rooms. But don’t let that deter you. Have never been burned and been going their for years. Price is average too.

Hidden secret in the LES. I've been coming here for 5 years, they are simply the best with excellent service. Have brought all my pants suits shirts jackets coats tuxes etc here and never had a screw up. Always on time and without hassle.

The wait time is almost non-existent, the owner is very nice and listens to all your suggestions. I would recommend this place for anyone who either hates waiting on tailoring to be done, or needs a quick fix for a purchase in Soho. Lovely experience!

Good service, quality work could pricey all depends on the work you need done! I have been to a few tailors in the area but they do not compare to the overall bang for your buck than this place. Rafael is the man and he works with you to make sure the alterations are perfect. I would recommend coming here for any type of tailoring!

This is the best place to get jeans or pants hemmed. $5 cash for new hems. I can't comment on the alterations for any other types of clothing.

I just moved to the city and needed to find someone who could fix my winter jacket's complicated zipper since it was a really nice jacket and didn't wanna have to throw it away because of broken zipper. This was the first place I found online and I came straight here because of the amazing ratings it had, and let me tell you... it was the best decision!!! Rafael is the best, he fixed it perfectly and left it better than new!!! They are very kind and I can tell that they enjoy what they do, simply by their outstanding customer service!! Also, don't expect to get your things fixed right away or on the same day because just like Rafael says "it takes time to fix something really well so that it doesn't have to be fixed again", so believe me when I say that it's worth the wait!! My jacket took a week and I even think that was fast given what needed to be done. In terms of the price he gave me two options: 1. A regular zipper that would be cheaper and I would get and "ok" zipper. 2. A heavy duty zipper that would be a bit more expensive but much more resistant. I trusted him and went with the second, more expensive option but like I said it was well worth it so.. if he suggests something go with it! - They offer dry cleaning as well so I took two of my dresses and I am also very very pleased with the results!! - As if my review didn't give it away already... I recommend this place with my eyes closed! So just come here! Thank you Señor Rafael! I'll be back

Just travelled specially to the tailor shop to get pants hemmed. Extremely rude staff. I was bringing 4 pairs of pants to get hemmed and really wanted to bring my business here. Super disappointed. I am sure they do a great job but instead of bringing my business there I decided to leave.

I had a bridesmaids dress that needed hemming for a wedding that's the following weekend. Everyone else told me it'd take 10-14 days. 55 Express had it ready on the same day. It was a bit pricey, but the attendant took the time to explain why it cost so much (3 layers and a lot of fabric). Just picked it up today and it's perfect. The sewing job is impeccable and it's the perfect length. Thank you!

They do a great job and the price is great but holy hell they are NEVER ready when they say they are. I've even called ahead to confirm that they'll be done then get there later that day at the agreed upon time and they are still 25% into the job. Only use them if you don't need it on that due date they give you.

55 tailor express is no normal tailor shop...they're saviors. been a customer for 2 years and counting and they always have had my back. Never had one mistake and always delivered on the time they promised. There isn't another tailor shop you need to look for, gents. this is it!
