I recently had my wedding dress altered by Masood, upon recommendation from a newlywed friend of mine. I'd called another shop recommended by the Bridal Salon I purchased my dress from, and was not impressed at all by the apathy, and lack of professionalism. I'm so glad I called my friend and she recommended Masood. I called and he set an appt for me that weekend. First of all, I've been sewing since I was about 3 (yes I'm serious, yes my mother had some questionable parenting skills! haha), so I know quality, and I knew it would be a disaster to attempt to alter my own dress. My friend told me the prices might be a smidge high, but totally worth it, when he presented me his offer, I knew I was getting quality work done, not a slap together job. I was perfectly content with the price, knowing the value and time and energy it takes to get an alteration correct. He was always very polite, I never felt uncomfortable, or flustered (at least not by him). He's a gentleman, and doesn't use flattery or vulgarity to try to sell you that it's a good fit. He listens, he speaks and touches appropriately and when necessary. He's intentional, which for a woman being partially undressed during most of my appts, was a relief. I thought we'd need 1-2 more fittings (based on what I would have for a dress for a client) but he was very efficient and his aim was precise! I only had to go in a few times, and it was ready. He even gave me a proper garment bag, instead of the pink plastic bag I brought my dress in originally. I'd absolutely recommend him to any bride, particularly a more modest bride who doesn't want to worry about even more on her emotional plate!

First off let me say that I wasn't in any rush for my order. I did a custom alteration on a halter top dress and had two pairs of pants hemmed all for about $55. I gave him exactly a week, Tuesday to Tuesday, and the results were absolutely perfect. The halter top dress was ankle length, but I had it cut to knee length and kimono styles slits added to the sides. I'm really happy with the results. I would recommend this place to anyone needing alterations done. But guys, try to give the guy some time. Perfection shouldn't be rushed alright? I promise you it's worth it.

Having tried a smattering of the other shops in town via personal recommendations, and never receiving anything better than mediocre results and service(sometimes downright terrible), I decided to give Final Stitch a try based on the positive things I read online, and I am very glad that I did. Not only is the final product top-notch, but the customer service is as well. Masood, the friendly proprietor, gives you his full attention, and works with you patiently to really understand what you as the customer wants, no matter how simple or complex the job. You get the sense he really cares that you end up with what you want, and not just that he earned the sale for service. A rarity these days for *any* business, let alone a tailoring shop. I sincerely look forward to any future alteration needs, and I can't recommend these guys any higher. They're the best--you won't be disappointed!

I'm updating this review as I've come back a few times since my original review. Masood Suliman is a gentleman and will be honest if something cannot be improved with alterations. He doesn't lie to you in order to get business, which I appreciate. Top quality work. Pricey, but worth it. I recently brought in a Hart Schaffner Marx suit that was improved greatly by simply tapering the trouser legs and bringing in the jacket waist. He was upfront about the timetable as well, which was two weeks due to prom and wedding season. I also appreciate this honesty. Final Stitch is definitely the best alterations business in town and I would recommend it to everyone.

Masood and his staff saved my wedding dress in the final hour! I had had my David's Bridal dress altered in-house on Menaul, and was very unsatisfied with the results. In a panic, with less than a week before my wedding, I took my dress to Masood, who immediately was able to point out the "problem areas" with the dress- too small at the waist and hips, too large in the bust, problems with darting, etc. The fact that he could so quickly assess what had been done wrong put me at ease. Take your alterations here! They are amazing! Masood took an experience that began as a nightmare and turned it around 100%. I purchased my Amsale wedding dress at a sample sale and it had some minor issues. First and foremost, it was filthy so I figured I'd have it cleaned first so we could see what we were working with. The cleaner destroyed it. I mean straight up mangled. The top at the neckline was ripped all the way across, the skirt shrank, the stiffness of the bodice was gone completely. Wow. I'm not one to be dramatic, so I thought I'd take it to Masood to see what could be done. Not only did he fix the neckline, but salvaged the shrunken skirt with an amazing hemline, fixed two destroyed zippers and made a beautiful bustle to boot! I couldn't be more happy. The price is high, but the quality of the work and service is totally worth it. Final Stitch will be the only place I take anything for alterations from now on!

The only time I had ever had an alterations experience in my lifetime was when I was 14 getting my homecoming dress altered. Thus, Final Stitch is my first experience with alterations as an adult. I went in around noon on a Thursday with my bridesmaid dress. The dress was too long and the bust practically fell right off. It was a relatively quick visit-putting the dress on took more time than it took for him to decide what he had to do. He didn't measure my bust, which I initially was concerned about, because keeping the dress up was a big issue. I had a week to get it altered, with the wedding just 9 days away from the time I went in. I picked it up this afternoon and I'm so happy with the results! Everything fits perfect. The dress is floor length, but not so much that I feel I'll trip, and the padding in the bust is enough to keep me in the dress, but not so much that I feel I'm suffocating. Although it seems pricey, I have no other place to compare it to, so I can't say anything about that other than - I definitely feel I got what I paid for. I'll return to Final Stitch for my next alteration.

I didn't actually get service from them, I took in a sweatshirt to get a zipper replaced and they wanted $50 to fix it! Almost as much as I paid for it. Don't really know how much things like this cost but thought it was too much. A few days later I ended up going to a place on the Westside called DC Alterations which charged me only $20. They did a great job and the zipper worked like a champ. I'm pretty sure other places would probably be cheaper as well too. I don't know why this place tried to charge MORE than double. Will never go back and try to get work done from them. You can see for yourself and get an outrageous quote from them, but I would just look somewhere else to began with. For everyone who cares about their money.

This is the best tailor in Albuquerque. They are professional and do what they say they are going to do. I am tall and have a hard time finding clothes that fit. I can buy anything and have them make it look great. I don’t think they are expensive. I think the value for what you get is about right. If you go to the lowest cost option you get what you pay for. Masood Suliman, tailor at Final Stitch, was a lifesaver this morning. My daughter needed to have a brand-new suit hemmed by noon for a Science Fair presentation in the afternoon. No place else was amenable to a quick turnaround, but Masood was absolutely fantastic--reassuring, extraordinarily courteous, telling us it'd be done quickly, etc. I brought my daughter by with the suit just before 9 am, he measured the hem as she wore the suit and medium heel shoes she'd use today, did an incredible hemming job--it was impossible to tell any seam or find any stitch on it, and it fit her perfectly. It was done by around 10:30, very reasonably priced, and Masood was friendly as well as professional. Now we have a follow up email from his shop. This is a first-class place, and I recommend it most highly to anyone needing tailoring or alterations in Albuquerque, whether a small or big job. Beautiful shop and merchandise as well. While Final Stitch is a little steep in terms of price, you can rest assured that your altered garment will be perfect. I went to Masood for my wedding dress a few years ago. He transformed a pretty snug fitting lace mock turtleneck into a lovely (and non-restricting) neckline, knowing exactly what to recommend to achieve a much more flattering look while also increasing the comfort level tremendously. I also had the dress taken in quite a bit and hemmed. I will definitely turn to Final Stitch for future alternations.

After reading many reviews I came her with my wedding dress expecting great service. Masood was extremely rude when I went in and also EXTREMELY pricey! I was quoted $350 just to have this dress just hemmed. I had previously been quoted in denver $400 for hemming and the additional take in if sides fixing holes in lace etc. He didn't care to have me try this one or anything to see what alterations were needed. I would not recommend this place at all!

Masood is a professional and a modern tailor. I lost some weight and took one of my suits to another tailor and they ruined it. Masood has been honest and tells me when he cannot make alternations, the other place just wanted my money. One of the most unique things about Masood and Final Stitch is the advice. He gives me on what type of cut (Slim Fit, Traditional, Flat Front Pants, Pleated) would be best. In this sense he is a classic tailor and helps a young professional look his best. I had my wedding dress altered at Final Stitch, and I am very pleased with the results. My experience was very smooth from start to finish, and I think Masood's level of professionalism is top notch. The price was higher than I expected costing more than half of what I paid for the dress itself, but Masood explained his process. The reason why the alterations were steep is because my dress had lots of beading that he had to take off before taking in the waist, and then reapplied. While I wish the price had been slightly more modest, the level of craftsmanship is apparent. The lesson to be learned here to any brides shopping for a dress is to be aware that beading will make your alterations much more expensive. The dress is fit to me perfectly, and I would never know the beading had been removed. I am also fairly petite at 5'4", so I needed the dress to be hemmed and bustled. In the end, the hem was not quite as short as I need in order to walk down the aisle without stepping on the dress, so I had to buy taller high heels. I never asked if Masood would take it up an additional inch, so this is on me for not finding that out before getting the new shoes. In addition to the dress, I am using my mother's veil, but I wanted to modify it to look more contemporary. After the alteration the veil looked indelible! It looked cleaner and was wrinkle free, so I'm thrilled about that. Final Stitch is a wonderful place to take your wedding alterations. You can rest assured that your garments are in good hands. Like many, the reviews for Final Stitch got me in the door. I needed to have an expensive and elaborate couture gown altered. Notwithstanding the excellent reviews, I was still nervous about putting my cherished dress into the hands of a tailor I'd never used. So, I gave Mr. Suliman a couple of shirts to alter, one with an awkward front pleat. He did a beautiful job with every piece. And when it came time to trim down the couture dress, he handled it masterfully. Since then, my husband and I have brought him many other items of clothing including suits, dress shirts, skirts and pants. We have not once needed to ask to have work adjusted or redone. We live in Santa Fe and are happy to drive to Albuquerque for such excellent, reliable work. Don't let Mr. Suliman's relaxed manner and easy hand with the chalk fool you. He is exceptionally precise and committed to satisfaction. Fine quality at a fair price.

I had my wedding dress altered at Final Stitch in 2015. I was between two sizes and let the sales people at the bridal store convince be to order the smaller size, which was a mistake. I was not excited about having it let out. Masood was very professional and my dress fit perfectly! There was no evidence it had been altered, the work was so high quality. I always have to get trousers/dress pants hemmed, so am always going to tailors. I am relatively new to the area and this was the first time I needed tailoring services and picked this place as it is on my daily commute. I dropped by on a Friday at lunch and really needed them done by Monday for a business trip on Tuesday. I asked if it were possible to get the pants done by Monday, expecting either a no or to pay a nice premium for rush service. Nearly every tailor I have ever been to, having lived in many cities in many states over the years, have always taken a week to get pants hemmed, or pay a nice fee for next day service. I was told that it would be no problem to get them done same day! I was shocked at how cheap the price was given that the pants would be done in a matter of hours. I experienced wonderful customer service and the hemming was beautifully done. I will be using this place as long as I am living in the ABQ area.

I first came to Masood and Final Stitch based on a few great reviews other people had given concerning wedding dress alterations. I had a costume ball gown that my then 13-year-old daughter needed taking in. It was an extremely complicated gown with layers and tucks. He and his staff did an absolutely beautiful job, and even did it in a way in which some areas of the dress could be let out again a bit if she grew more. I was so impressed! I then decided to have him change my 20-year-old, floor length wedding dress into a cocktail dress. Again, the work was flawless and I have a beautiful new dress that I can wear again! I've since been back to have more simple things done like pants hemmed, but I won't go anywhere else. Everything, no matter how simple or complicated, that I've taken to him comes back perfect and fits beautifully.
