I was torn on whether to go 4 or 5 stars. The work is 5 star and the prices are fair, but the setup and turnaround time leaves a lot to be desired. There's often a wait - go after work and it's at least a half hour. But if you're flexible to go during the day there's no wait.

Upon comparing reviews of tailors in the area, I decided to go for Stanton Tailor for a pair of linen/silk dress pants I got turned out to be tad too small in waist. When I brought it in, I was first told that there was no extra fabric to extend the waist. However, when I pointed out that I could live without the cuffs on it. Then, he said "Ok. I can use the fabric from the cuff if it's okay with you". I said yes. He told me to come back a week later. So I did. And it was ready for me to try. The finish was fantastic! No signs of the alteration I could see. The cuffs were removed and done as hems. The waist size was so perfect without ruining the original looks. The cost was $40, which was totally worthy for such a great job. I highly recommend the place to anyone who needs a quality job.

Pablo is great and the work has been perfect every time for 5 years. Always bring jeans to get taken up and darts put in the waist. Can't beat the price and work.

Pablo Vargas is the man. Most humble dude I know south of the Niagara Falls. You can trust Pablo with all of your garment alterations and sartorial advice. Specially when it comes to suits and Denim. Word to the wise though; if you tell him you want something done in a certain way, and he ask you "are you sure this is what you want?,' take a quick pause, think, and ask him what it is that he would suggest instead. 8/10 times you will see how his way makes a lot more sense. 10/10 his way is the right way to do it.

Brought in a pair of 3sixteen jeans to be tapered... when I got them back they felt like a whole new pair of pants, and they’re way more flattering now than when I bought them. Always risky to take raw denim somewhere to be altered, but Pablo + his staff did an excellent job. Price was fair as well.

They hemmed my dress pants perfectly for $10 and had them ready the next day. Will definitely use again

Skip. Took three dress shirts here to get tailored and they took them in way too much (could not even do up the buttons) and instead of leaving the extra fabric so that they could be taken out again like other tailors, they removed it completely. While they tried a few times to fix it by taking out the darts, ultimately it ruined my 3 new shirts. Minor things that added to the bad experience were that they don't iron your clothes and left all the loose threads on the clothes, it's cash only and they charge 5% more if you lose your ticket, and the phone number and the hours of operation on google are incorrect.

This place was a Godsend when I stumbled upon it one evening last year after leaving a tailor shop on Allen St who charged me $80 to tailor a shirt for me

These guys do amazing work. I've brought in a couple of suits that needed to be completely re cut and they've always impressed me.

Incredible place.

I had come to fix a skirt that had ripped due to weight fluctuations and my favorite brown canvas bag I’ve had for over 4 years now. Pablo was sweet and welcoming, reassured me that it was just the threading used on the skirt that was too weak, which is fair since it was a 15 dollar pencil skirt from H&M (my self deprecating humor fell short) and fixed my bag like new! Service and prices are unbeatable, make sure you keep your receipt and pay in cash!

Thought I would share my own experience given that last review. Over the past 10 years, I've brought close to thirty dress shirts to Pablo to be taken in; for each one we did a fitting, with Pablo using straight pins on the fabric while I wore the shirt and making small adjustments until I was satisfied. The result has been perfect every time - so much so that I continue to get compliments and am often asked where I get my custom shirts. I've also successfully done more complicated work here, including final fitment of two expensive off-the-rack suits I bought in Milan (we did multiple fittings and adjustments), repair of dress slacks that have worn/frayed and replacement of an entire panel in a dress vest. Not sure what happened with the other reviewer's shirts, but make sure to do fittings in person and, as others have suggested, take Pablo's advice when he suggests a certain approach. The rest is very much true: cash only, and don't lose your ticket!

The best. Nothing more needs be said [but I will anyway]. I call the owner El Maestro. Worth travelling great distances to have work done here. They're a very busy shop, but even so, turnaround time is not so bad: very rarely longer than a week. If you need tailoring, you can't do any better.
