REVIEWS OF Reeves IN New Jersey

I am a repeat client of David Reeves. First when you meet him he is unquestionably English. So I've checked out all the top tailors in NYC and only very few are the best in bespoke suits. David Reeves is definitely one of the best and is obsessed about quality, and his service is unparalleled. He only makes the best so don't ask him about made to measure. He makes top suits only. He's carved out a niche market to provide quality suits made in NY (versus another country). He's obsessed about fit and quality. My body shape was untraditional to say the least, and it took a few rounds to get it right. But when it did it turned out to be an amazing product (and the other products that I bought after the first). Bespoke suits take time. If you have some patience you'll be greatly rewarded with the perfect fit. Also I think another edge Dave has is that he's got an eye for fashion and he'll take your suit game up a notch. yes he'll make you your boring James Bond or Kingsman suit if that is what you want. But he's good at suggesting new patterns and colors to kick your suit game up and look great, where you the client will feel like you got an edge by trying something different but still getting a very English product. When you first met him, don't mistaken his boyish look to think he hasn't been around the block. He's been making suits for a very long time, and got his training in saville row in England. Give him a shot you won't be disappointed. Compare your old suits to what he'll make for you, and you'll know you made the right choice. In fact, I compared my former bespoke suit to his (not my first rodeo either apparently), and I confess there is no comparison and only wish I found Dave earlier.

Who is David Reeves? Just your ordinary Savile Row-trained lad who's been making beautiful bespoke clothing in New York for more than 10 years now. David developed his pedigree at top houses (Gieves & Hawkes, Richard James, Timothy Everest, etc.) and then brought his clean, slim silhouette stateside. And here's the thing: he gets the fit right every time. I mean *every* time. I freely admit to being neurotic about fit, but David leaves me with no complaints. And from what I've seen, he achieves the same result with nearly everyone, no matter size and shape. Years on, I've never regretted buying from David. He'll put a smile on your face; trust me.

I commission something from David Reeves every year, and plan to do so for years to come. I wore his garments for my wedding, wear them in court, and wear them whenever I want to enjoy the day a bit more. The quality of the work is tops: the suits fit such that they're a pleasure to put on (and apparently a pleasure to behold, as they are heavily complimented) and have worn very well over the years. David is likewise a hardcore aesthete, and will mull over subtle distinctions in each aspect of the garment—from the color of the fabric to the virtues of a ticket pocket to just how marbled your tortiseshell buttons should be—until it pops. And as you can tell from his work (follow his instagram @davidreevesbespoke to see some beautiful clothes and the odd reference to eighties sci-fi), David makes beautiful suits from about anything you can imagine: pink linens sit next to gun club tweeds, and he's made me everything from a standard blue suit to a mustard jacket. Finally, David is just fun to to work with. In addition to nailing every detail of your suit, he'll make you laugh, he'll pour you a drink, and he'll make sure you know exactly which Star Trek movie is the best.

David was so kind and pleasant – he took care of what I needed so beautifully and efficiently after I came in without an appointment. Anytime I need anything tailored in the future, I'll absolutely go to Reeves.

Dave is a consummate professional. His advice was spot on and very helpful. He worked on a tight timeline to put together a classic navy suit for my wedding. As you might expect, that meant lots of pressure on Dave, but he handled it well. Indeed, for my basted fitting, he was taken ill with the flu and obviously had to postpone it, but when he recovered he came to Washington just to see me and check the first fitting. From there he and his team made sure the suit advanced quickly. For my final fitting, they turned around several adjustments in less than 24 hours. In the end, I had the perfect suit for the perfect wedding!

John Mayer Oliver

Very good experience. Great quality and attention to detail. I highly recommend this tailor.

David is a super nice guy, and his clothes are amazing! Definitely worth a try if you're into suits!

I had only ever bought off the rack suits before coming to David but he patiently walked me through the entire process and stopped to answer any questions I had. The difference is like going from between the earphones that come with your phone to high end over the ear headphones. You don't know what you're missing until you experience it. It's not meant for everybody but if you care for perfection, this is it. At our first meeting, David and I sat down together to pore over books of fabrics. I had some rough ideas of what I was looking for and David asked some probing questions to really help drill down the specific details I was looking for. For the interior lining, I had initially picked out a conservative polka dot pattern but mentally noted another one that was more adventurous and challenging, featuring a New York City motif. I didn’t say a single word of this to David but he may have noticed me pausing on it for a bit or maybe he just had a good intuition of what I was thinking because he pulled out the same New York City lining and suggested it to me. It felt like a perfect match and I’m so happy he inspired me to pick it.

There is excellent and then there is perfection, I’ve never met someone so obsessed with their craft as David Reeves of Reeves Bespoke. He is impeccable about precision and making sure that he gets it right every time. He makes the process simple by providing so many varieties of cloth and a thorough consultation each and every time.

I have always wanted to get a bespoke suit made since I got into suits, and as a wedding gift to myself I decided to pull the trigger. When it comes to suits everyone knows the end all be all in menswear is Savile Row , but being in the US this just wasn't a logical choice. Finding a true bespoke tailor is extremely daunting to say the least . In a world where MTM is what most people view as bespoke. One has to sort through a lot of charlatans out there claiming they are true bespoke tailors. After searching through an enormous amount of website and style blogs, I kept coming across a tailor named David Reeves that countless people were raving about. I decided to give him a call and instantly knew this man was the real deal. On the day of our appointment we hashed out the detail of the suit in no time, he knew what I wanted before I did its like he has a sixth sense. We then spent the subsequent hours talking and enjoying a drink it was the most pleasant, professional buying experience I have ever had. I have finally received my first suit and it is stunning fits like a glove and have gotten rave reviews from everyone I know. When your wearing one of David's suits everyone else in the room looks as though they are wearing cheep rentals. I have since commissioned many other pieces. All I can say is if you get a suit from David you will not regret it, hes tops, and in a way I did finally get a Savile Row suit, because make no mistake that is what it is.

It was a lot of fun picking out fabrics and lining for my custom peacoat. Great experience!

Reeves is a great place to get a bespoke suit. Already thinking of buying a second suit from here. Definitely recommend!

I had my first Reeves suit made for me for my wedding this summer and boy was it an amazing experience. I got an unforgettable royal blue 3 piece made with Escorial wool. The end product was flawless but it’s the journey with Dave that makes it all- to see a piece of cloth in a book that is over time customized to you is incredible. Mr. Reeves is also genuine and a pleasure to get to know (which you will in your personalized session(s). You will not only get many compliments on your suit (Ive never had so many on a suit I’ve purchased previously) but the fit and material will make you always want to wear Dave’s suits. They are not the kinda thing you’re going to want to take off at the end of a long work day...He’s got the English style suit down pat and he puts character into his products that’s unparalleled and styles the suit to your liking/fit - each piece is unique unlike other suits off a rack or made to measure...I am a first time client and it’s hard to imagine going anywhere else once I get my next...

I could not imagine a better experience than working with David Reeves. I was looking for a tailor to create a bespoke tuxedo for my wedding, and after speaking with some of the major houses in Europe and Asia, I elected to go with David for two reasons 1. he provided quick efficient customer service and 2. he made the process about me and what I wanted. I currently live in Florida, and though I had no hesitations about traveling, this process was easier than I imagined. In all it took three visits, including the initial consultation and measurements, and the final fitting to get things exactly how I wanted them. By the time of the third visit, it was so good that I could have walked out of the office with it on. Along the way, David provided excellent guidance while giving me the freedom to pick the details that mattered to me. I highly recommend Mr. Reeves and will continue to be customer for many years to come.

Strangers stop me on the street to compliment my suits. David's great. Highly recommended.
