Imparali is fantastic. I've gotten suits, a tuxedo (for my wedding), blazers, dress slacks and dress shirts and am beyond happy with them all. I've also had nothing but a great experience dealing with Matt and his team. They keep things simple, help me make decisions based on my style, and always get it right the first time. Everything is also reasonably priced (at least in comparison to other tailors I've been to). I'd highly recommend this place to anyone.

My suit skirt was torn and left a small hole in the back. Imparali did a great job fixing it-- I cannot tell where the hole is now! There's no trace of fixing or sewing from the outside. The price is also fair-- $10. The manager of the store was very patient and their customer service (on the phone) is also great. Will definitely consider visiting again in future.

Here's my experience: I had read about both Matt and his shop, Imparali Custom Tailors located on 5th Ave in NYC, on a well-respected men's clothing forum. I decided to take a chance. I reached out to him via email and followed up with a phone call. I asked him if he could copy a suit I loved in a different color. He said sure, and sent me some swatches. A few days later, without leaving Cleveland, Ohio, I mailed him (I know - it sounds strange) a suit that I really liked and fit me like a glove (it was tailor-made by a terrific Italian tailor in Cleveland). I'm super choosey about lapel width, functioning buttons on the cuffs, interior pockets, etc., and I let him know that upfront. About 40 days later he mailed me an absolutely beautiful, perfect blue suit that was a stitch-by-stitch copy of the dark brown one I sent him, only with my name stitched on the inside "checkbook" pocket. My only surprise? The material was actually superior to my original, and the cost was much less. I mean much, much less. Again, this is just one person's experience, but I wanted to share my story.

Came to Imparali on a recommendation. I trusted them with the nicest jacket I have ever owned (Burberry) to have it taken in and sleeves shortened. Also had two pairs of pants hemmed. They at least got the length correct on the second try. The jacket has functional buttons so they proposed shortening from the shoulder. Now there is extra, flappy pinches of fabric. When I complained, instead of fixing the issue, I was told I was wrong--that it looked "fine." Extremely disappointed that I paid for this work. And I paid $160+ for it.

I often wonder is some of the negative comments are from real customers, I rolled the dice and ordered 5 shirts from Imparali and cannot be happier with the quality and the feel. I am a power user of shirts and so far they are holding up nicely even after a few trips to the cleaners. I can't beat the look for the price and am going to order several more very soon. Matt was very helpful and answered all my questions. I am a bit fashion challenged so he was even able to politely suggest some changes for me that ended up being just what I needed. I thought pockets on my shirts were useful, clearly I wasn't in on what is hip! 5 stars for you, and pfft to those who give one star.

I highly recommend setting up an appointment with Imparali...I got a blue tuxedo for my wedding and the process was fun and painless..I was offered a drink when I first entered the showroom. We went over the interior linings, fabrics and the subtle details even got the hashtag stitched underneath my collar lapel for the jacket. They suggested some great details also explained how to care for the suit after the wedding. I was seriously impressed, I'm not necessary a suit guy every day but I know when I do need another suit I'll be using them going forward.

I went to this shop today to have them replace a zipper for a good coat of mine. Would you believe, they simply took out a pair of pliers and tightened the zipper slide and told me that there was no need to replace the whole zipper? The fix will likely be relatively temporary (the slide will eventually wear out), but they saved me real money. I will definitely go back to them whenever I need tailoring done! Matt won't provide quality service if he doesn't "make money off of you". I was looking to buy custom shirts so I decided to order 10 in November 2016 from Imparali. It was important to me that the shirts were an appropriate length to be worn untucked and tucked. Shirts came in 5-6 weeks later. When the shirts first came in they had my initials on the left cuff which I did not want, had to wait another 1-2 weeks for the cuffs to come in. I finally got the shirts and they were way too short to be worn untucked (they were shorter than I asked for). Matt first offered to add an extra button on the bottom to see if it looked better but that did not help so he had to remake the shirts. Shirts came in at the beginning of March and I had to get them cleaned 3 times before I could ask for any alterations. After getting them cleaned 3 times, just the arms had to be made a bit slimmer, a simple job. I brought them in while Matt was not there and they said the alterations would be done in a week, free of charge of course because the shirts are his product. Matt emails me a day later and says that he cannot do the alterations for free. I called him and he proceeded to say that because he did not "make any money off of me" he needed to charge me. Mind you the first two mistakes were his fault. I told him that I wouldn't pay for the alterations and picked up my shirts. I now have 10 custom shirts that I ordered 4 months ago that I am not happy with. Go to Proper Cloth instead, I should have went there in the first place.

I just bought several Ted Baker Suits the other week and they recommended I go to Imparali to get the suits professionally tailored. I just picked them up over the weekend and I have to say I'm very happy with the outcome of the suits, I shop at Ted because they have an attention to detail that most suit company's don't i.e button sleeves are a different color then the rest, the issue was with the Ted jacket the sleeves were a bit too long for me so in order to keep the aesthetics in tact I'd have to shorten the sleeves from the shoulder, I've had this issue before with another tailor and the job was botched due to it, but with these guys it came out perfect. I'm glad I was referred to Imparali I'll be taking all my tailoring going forward.

They actually also suggested a change that I was reluctant to at first (they wanted to move a little gold clasp on the back of the dress up a bit) I was scared to make what seemed to me to be a big change, I took my dress to them initially just for some minor tailoring. Also I was very close to my wedding date. Well, I took their advice and went ahead with moving the clasp on the back and it was absolutely the right decision. It really changed the way the dress fell in a big way, making it fall perfectly. They did a great job!!

I was in town a week ago for a wedding which I was also a part of. Realizing I needed to get my pants hemmed, I went in for a simple pant hem for a tuxedo I purchased for the wedding. At the owners request, I put the entire tux on and found out that the tux jacket was too big. With less then 24 hours,Matt altered my top, hemmed my pants, and the tux came out amazingly. I admittedly know next to nothing about men's suits and John Aranda, part of the Imparali team, makes you feel comfortable and addresses any and all questions. My advice for anyone would be to stop buying off the rack stuff and go pay them a visit. Their bespoke suits are far from ordinary and so is their hands on approach.

I have been going to Imparali and to Matt for 2-3 years now. Matt (and his colleagues) are top notch in every way. Quality is amazing, price is very fair, and the service is absolutely fantastic. After I tried a couple of shirts, I was hooked; I went on to buy more shirts, suits, tuxedos, pants, pretty much everything. No reason to pay more money for lower quality (and worse-fitting) stuff from a department store. A few of my friends have also used him (some that I referred, some that others referred), and every person that has used Imparali has absolutely loved it. I also began to bring in some of my older clothes to get fitted, and Matt's team did an awesome job; after their tailor work it felt like I had bought new clothes. Matt is also not just out for the sale; there have been a few cases where I've asked him genuinely about getting a new shirt or suit, and he'll remind me that I bought a very similar suit with him in the past, so that might not make sense. This is just one example of how much I love it here. Besides for the amount that I use Imparali, my closest friends and family (Dad and 2 brothers) have all began to use Imparali as well. They have all loved it.

Matt did a great job on 2 pairs of suit pants that I needed to have taken in. Initially, there was a mix-up on when the pants were supposed to be finished, but Matt did his best to correct the mistake as quickly as possible, which I greatly appreciated. The pants now fit well and look great, so no complaints here.

These guys have a beautiful showroom and impeccable service. I have been going to them for years and have never been disappointed. Conveniently located near transportation and excellent quality. They always listen to exactly how I want things to be tailored and nail it on the first run. My old tailored would always insist on tailoring his way which was a very old school style. I like my suits and shirts modern and very fitted which Imparali has always done. Worth every penny to get it right on the first try.

Don’t do it to yourself. Spend the extra money and go to more experienced professionals. I attempted to have 7 shirts made here. After 6 weeks, 4 rounds of alterations, and my 5th visit to their store, I couldn’t lift my arms above my head in the shirts. I gave up, and they gave me a refund. They got every measurement wrong, and couldn’t fix it -- even after re-making the shirts from scratch. I don't have a strange build. I’m 6’1, 195 lbs. I just needed a slim, tapered fit with a bit of extra room in the neck, shoulders and arms. They spent so little time taking measurements, and I only met the actual tailor (an elderly asian woman) once, on my second-to-last visit. I shouldn’t have been surprised by the result. They even got my email address wrong, so i had to keep calling them to check on the status. Don’t even get me started on the actual store location. It’s a hole in the wall. If I could give them zero stars i would.

Imparali tailors is quite an impressive set up. The business is located in a clean and quiet building. It gives off a vibe of welcoming luxury that looks exclusive. Freddy who was the gentleman that helped fit my wardrobe for alterations was charismatic, knowledgeable and incredibly patient. He made me feel confident in my decisions and introduced me to new styling options. The fees for alterations are modest and slightly less expensive than others. Will be back soon!!!

Avoid avoid avoid.They don't know what they doing Inside the have Chinese people working on the suits . One of the worse tailors and worst service I have ever had. I brought my YSL Suit and my Armani Suit in for alterations because it was too loose and then they worked on it 2 time . After that they said will fix it again and still was wrong fit. After reading the previos posts I know for sure that he pays people to write good reviews. And those who write bad reviews he calls them fake. Avoid at all cost .

I'm a very small guy and need everything tailored for me, even shopping at Zara, H&M or Top Man, everything seems too loose for me, I work near the area(Rock Center) so having a tailor close by is ideal. These guys get their tailoring done exactly how I like it and really appreciate the straightforward process they have. I've been to other tailors who give me a quote just to find out that it's just a "quote" and the work is more then what I had expected. Top notch work and customer service, would certainly refer this place for any tailoring needs

I have been a regular at Imparali for almost 9 years now. I first found out about them when i had to get some of my suits and shirts altered. I have broad shoulders and a small waist so its a pain to get off the rack. After Matt and his team worked on my clothes they fit incredibly perfectly. After getting to know Matt, he suggested that rather than wasting time and money on off the rack i should go for custom suits/shirts. I did once and havent looked back. I have quite a few suits and shirts that i got done. Matt and his team have an impeccable eye for detail and the variety of swatches to choose from is mind blowing. They work within your budget to get what you are looking for and what you get looks like a million bucks. I have recommended quite a few friends & colleagues to Imparali and they have also been super satisfied repeat customers. They are so good even after delivering the finished product about any minor alterations/repairs needed (which rarely happen). I would say hands down my best and favorite shopping experience for formal clothes. They have now expanded their selection to include shoes and accessories so my addiction with getting stuff from them may get worse :-)...Plus its good to know that what you are wearing is from a place that has tons of celeb clientele. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!
