Let me first start off by saying that I have purchased my fair share of custom suits and full bespoke suits. Knowing better, I should have walked right out when I first walked into this place. His entire staff was not even dressed in well fitting suits, including the owner himself. Further the entire place was dirty and dated. Regardless, I did not want to judge the place based on the first impression. I had purchased a suit for my father here for a wedding. When the suit came back from the first fitting. The entire suit did not fit. It was obvious that the pants were improperly measured, however the owner Vijay insisted that this could be fixed. We went back and forther with his tailor for adjustments however in the end the pants did not fit. What makes this situation worse is that through the whole process the owner himself did not attempt to rectify the situation himself. Instead he put us in the back fitting room to hide the fact from the rest of his customer that the quality of his work is inconsistent and shotty. After four fittings and having the pants remade, the pants still do not fit properly. We would have had better luck going off the rack. Vijays attitude the entire time was that of someone who does not care about service. He was more worried about making a profit instead of gaining a customer for life. In fact when we walked out, he mentioned the fact that he was giving us an extra pair of pants for free when in fact one of the pair of pants was the original pair that never fit. Not to mention the pants that was remade still does not fit. My father now has two pairs of pants that would serve better as dish rags and a jacket that has no pants to go with it.

I ordered 3 shirts from Custom Men. They took 6 weeks to arrive, while charging an $18.00 delivery fee. Upon trying all 3 shirts on, the cuffs and collars were far too big. Custom Men told me to wash and dry them to shrink them to proper size. Should one have to do this with custom made clothing? I wore, washed and machined dried the shirts, they didn't shrink at all. I returned the shirts and was re-measured. Custom Men had taken an inaccurate measurement and their factory had cut the shirts too big. I left them to be altered. Two weeks later, Custom Men called saying, "the shirts are ready". I tried them on and they had properly altered the lengths of the cuffs but the collars were still so big it was immediately observed by their seamstress. When I asked to speak with a sales rep I was told, "they're busy with clients". Custom Men refunded my purchase. Why they would do business in this manner is mystifying. They lost a sale and return business. My time was wasted. I would not recommend them.

Got several custom suits and an overcoat. The bespoke, custom-made experience is definitely the way to go. Top male sports stars go to Veejay who fits them into a perfectly made suit. Top quality service, excellent fabrics and quick turnaround.

People were nice, however the craftsmanship is garbage. I donated $5000 for three jackets and some pants. Measurements were taken over my clothes - first warning sign of an amateur. Fitting, pants were fit for those who wanted to ride a horse - baggy. They called some illegal alien who looked at pants and jacket, threw some pins and made some marks on it - second warning of amateurs and garbage fabrication. Was told the suits were going to be dry cleaned - they were pressed there and delivered - not dry cleaned - third warning - liars. Pants - as long as I stand, I will be fine. If I sit, the circulation will be cut off to my legs. Jackets - two of the three have sleeve buttons which are not properly aligned. Overall - stay away from these amateurs. Those who give these guys good reviews clearly are ok with garbage level tailors. I don't blame these amateurs, I blame myself for not following my gut feeling from the beginning. Avoid this place and really do your research before spending good money. It was a lesson which I learned quite a bit from and lost $5000. I took the jackets to a highly reputable bespoke and they were altered properly. The pants were so poorly tailored, the bespoke I went to said, "You should just get new pants and throw this garbage away." I did not thrown them away, but gave them to someone. This is the level of craftsmanship these amateurs provide. You want to learn the hard way, go to these guys and spend your money foolishly like I did. Great lesson learned and I will never again make the same mistake. Don't go by the BS reviews which are staged and clearly not accurate. I don't normally comment or take time out of my busy schedule to write a review, but this one is clearly warranted. Avoid these shoemakers at all costs and physically go to a few reputable custom tailors and make up your mind. These jackasses, should not be anywhere near your radar when it comes to professional level tailors.

Did not like the quality of shirts cheap material imported from China, shirts are been made from cheap Chinese material that is been tailored in their 5th ave office, my husband's shirts simply show it, We will not visit this location again as they are selling cheap Chinese counterfeits as high brand quality material suites such practices should be banned.

I have been a repeat customer at Custom Men for several years. Vijay is a very thorough and thoughtful clothier, and is very helpful when it comes to conceptualizing suits and styles. The quality of the suits and shirts is superb. Through 2 years of regular wear the suits have held up great and continue to wear like they did on day one, and the shirts are still as bright as they were when I picked them up. I receive frequent compliments on the quality and style of my Custom Men clothes. It's worth mentioning that Vijay runs frequent promotions and special offers, so the prices are extraordinary given the quality of the materials. I came here on Wednesday (10/10) for alterations for a pair of suit pants that dint' fit too well. I got them back on Friday and the alterations were perfect. I have used Custom Men several times over the last two years after being referred by a friend. I am extremely happy with their selections, service, suggestions, timelines and overall quality/price. Vijay and the team there are extremely easy to work with and are truly customer focused. Very professional. I priced compared a Hugo Boss suit from Blomingdales vs a Custom Mens Suit of equivalent materials, cut, etc... and it was the same price BUT at custom men your getting a beauty of a fully custom suit (cut. measurements, linings, etc..).... I also compared shirts.. and again the win went to Custom Men... actually in most cases Custom Men was less expensive on the shirts then compared to Boss, Zenga, and several other high end shirt makers. In the 1 case where there was an issue with my shirt order, (i.e. cuffs were french and they should have been regular, the order was fixed in less than a week) I have since recommended Custom Men to several friends and have just made an appointment for another fitting of shirts and suits! Highly recommend them if you are looking for a local custom suit and shirt place in the NYC area. Oh, they have also done casual stuff for me as well.. Dress shirts, Blazers, etc..

One of the most important decisions I've made at this point in my life was to travel into NY to be measured for a custom made suit. Not knowing where I was going, nor what I was doing, I located Custom Men on 57th Street in Midtown. As soon as I entered the store, I was at home. Without an appointment, although strongly recommended, Vijay and his staff walked me through the entire process of being fitted for a custom made suit--and to put it lightly, the encounter was unforgettable! My suits were shipped to my office on Long Island. When I arrived at home, I opened the shipment and removed my new suits from the package. And all I have to say is "WOW!" I certainly had no doubt that the suits would be so well-made, but the craftmanship goes far beyond that--The meticulousness with which these suits have been custom tailored is nothing short of artistically superb! The jackets, the pants, the vests, the shirts--all fit as if they were specifically made for no one in the world except me! The quality of the fabric alone makes a statement unto itself. To me, this is the signature stitch of a proper suit with all of the details finely woven into each layer. Quite simply, I am a thoroughtly satisfied customer! In the overall scheme of suit-buying, I suppose it's true what I've heard--"Once you go custom made, you'll never go back to suits off the rack." I hit the gym hard so my body isn't made for off the shelf clothing. I've tried a few other bespoke joints in NYC but didn't like them much. I saw a guy even bigger than myself at the gym in an awesome suit and when I asked him where he got it from he gave me this place's name. It was the best referral I've ever received. Made an appointment on May 1st, had a lovely lady named Div assist me. She walked me thru the entire process and made pinpoint suggestions for my look/built. Very rarely you get a wardrobe consultant working at a custom clothier's place. Long story short, she made me a custom suit within 3 weeks which needed absolutely no further adjustments. I wore it to a friend's wedding on May 26th and probably grabbed more attention than the groom! Other bespoke places which I've tried didn't get it right even after multiple visits. I would highly recommend Custom Men for athletic guys!

Top notch place. It is hard to find good suits & shirts in the city for acceptable prices, especially not ones that are fit to order and of the best quality. I've been getting sick of going to all the so called "Hong Kong tailors" where the clothes made are cut out of standard patterns. Where’s the seafood? I ordered the “Canton Men” (combination seafood noodle soup). It contained one small piece of squid tentacles, one very thinly sliced squid and two verrry small shrimp. For $12.50 there should have been at least twelve pieces of seafood! WOW!!! I live in San Francisco and the restaurants there don’t skimp on the seafood and charge close half the price! I’ll try another Japanese restaurant here to see if this is typical here in NYC! VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!!

I purchase Custom Men's Groupon deal advertised as $599 for a $1500 custom-tailored suit. After picking a style from a book that looked to be from the 1950's, they took my measurements and sent them away for the suit to be made in China. When the suit finally arrived, it needed a few alterations, but after my fitting the proprietor, Vijay, emailed me this: "Your problem is you are looking for a suit to "flatter" you. If you paid me $6000 a suit may be, I would have my tailors drop everything else they were doing and just work on your suit all the time..but for $600, it's not going to happen. "I think for the money you paid, your suit fits you well and there is no need to fix something that's not broken as it will open up a can of worms and you will keep finding other imperfections in the suit the next time you come." Obviously, I found his attitude unbefitting a "custom-tailor" and promptly called Groupon for a refund.

I got my suit altered, one of which is for sleeve length. I put them on after they're "done" and noticed one sleeve was still longer. I don't mind follow up tailoring, if first measurements were not perfect, etc. But one of the people working there took his measuring tape and measures the sleeves and says they are the same. I noticed he was not holding the one sleeve taught in the longer arm, thus "measuring" the same length. I held both sleeves together to show one is obviously longer, and he tries to give me the runaround such as the shoulder seams are not lined up. If the seams were it was then it's at most a few millimeters, but the lengths are so drastically different and obvious. I tell him measure again, this time with me holding the sleeves and he accuses me of "stretching" it to produce an uneven measurement. It's obvious one shirt cuff doesn't show and the difference in jacket sleeve length is why. Luckily the actual tailor comes out, takes another measurement and gets them to match better. During this time this man confirms one sleeve is in fact 0.75 inches longer, with the other rep (third person) passing that message along to me. So one of the people working here lied to my face and treated me like an idiot. When I got confirmation it is longer from the tailor I knew the first man was lying, and I was waiting for the rush job to finish so I can get out of there. All he had to do was just say it will require a follow up adjustment. Maybe measurement wasn't accurate, or just simply forgotten. But he chose to lie to me. I would like to thank the honest tailor who made the adjustment and confirming the lengths, and the other gentleman was a pleasure to work with from the beginning, but I am never coming here again.
