If you’re looking for a GOOD tailor that knows what he’s doing in the NYC/NJ area, look no further. This place has been around for decades and the work really shows. It’s got that real old-school Italian mobster vibe, down in the basement of an old building. CERTOS has its own unique personality. I’ve been in emergency services for years and have always brought all of my uniforms here. I also have a bit of a strange athletic build (shmedium, if you will) and need most of my tops altered. Harsh gets it done in a timely fashion without cutting any corners. Aside from my uniforms, he’s tailored my suits, sweaters, dress pants, dress shirts, and even some of my casual wear. Because of this place, I’m always looking sharp. I read some reviews mentioning the pricing, but I have to say, this is truly a “you get what you pay for” kind of place. If you’re going to spend money on good clothes, why cut corners and seek cheap tailoring? If you’re in the area and get your clothes tailored anywhere else, you’re throwing your money away. GO TO CERTOS! You won’t regret it. PS: He makes CUSTOM suits, too! That’s right, be the best dressed at the next wedding you attend.

Moving to the East coast from Los Angeles, I was nervous to find a new tailor whom I could trust with my clothing. So I waited YEARS to take some of my favorite shirts and slacks into get altered. Wish I had done it sooner! The crew at Certo’s is truly a cut above the rest. Their work is immaculate and I couldn’t be happier. Highly recommended!

Great tailoring and great customer service at a fair price! I just returned from my second visit to Certo's for mending and alterations. On this visit the gentleman who helped was named Harsh but don't let the name fool you, he was very kind. Harsh asked a few questions so he could truly understand what I needed done to each pair of trousers. The gentleman who helped me on my previous visit also provided excellent service but I forgot to ask his name. Today I needed mending and alterations on three separate pairs of trousers. Harsh chaged me $40 for work that may have cost $60 from other tailors and because I've had work done at Certo's before I know I'll be pleased with the results when I pick my clothes up in in three short days. I'll definitely be returning in the future for all my tailoring needs and eventually some custom suits and shirts. I read that Certo's is where famously dapper Ol' Blue Eyes, the Chairman of the Board, Frank Sinatra himself used to go for his suits, Ring-A-Ding-Ding Baby!
