I'm very pleased with the hemming of four pairs of pants. Alessandro was patient, and helped getting the right lengths. For each pair of pants, he rolled the bottom of the pants up, pinned them, and told me the preferred way of how they should look. I had some slim and regular pants and each one really does require a different length because of how they fall on the shoes. The end result was perfect! Really top notch work for a great price. Would definitely come back.

I lost weight and had a dress that had to get taken in right away because I had a wedding 3 days later. I immediately got a quote, went in the next day and was told the turn around would be in 2 days. Then I got notice that it was ready the next day -- and the dress looked AWESOME. More expensive than I expected but WORTH EVERY PENNY! I will certainly be using them again. :o)

You need to go here! I did my research and made sure I chose the right place to alter very important items of clothing for me. This place was one of the only places in my area of Midtown West that altered both men’s and women’s clothing. When I called to inquire further information, I immediately booked my appointment after my conversation with Alessandro. He was incredibly kind, helpful and friendly. When I arrived later that day I was treated with a high level of respect and left there eager to see how my garment would come out. One week later, it was PERFECT! I even brought another garment for them to do, which came out perfect as well. I highly recommend this company to EVERYONE!

Went there to get some dress pants and a casual jacket tailored and they were very patient and worked hard to get it exactly how i wanted. Great place because they can do almost anything and actually care to do a good job.

OMG!!!! Alessandro and the team are amazing. I bought a wedding dress that was a size 12. I am a size 6 on the top and 8/10 on the bottom. They took the entire dress apart and took in the dress to give me the snatched waist I was looking for. I would go to them for everything!!! You can't even tell they took the dress apart.

Thanks to Alessandro and his team, a gown became a cocktail dress in a mere few days and for a fraction of what it would have cost to buy a new dress. This was a simple, yet complicated job. The gown had a split up the side and ruching all along the torso. I wanted the dress shortened and the split closed up. The alternations needed to be precise lest my dress become an unbalanced hot mess. They did it - the dress looks better now than it ever did as a gown. And the fit... The workmanship was top notch, the fit spectacular and dealing with Alessandro was a joy from my initial inquiry to when my husband picked up the finished product. About the Stitch is one of New York City's hidden gems.

Flawless work. I had a dress altered, and it looks as though it was originally made this way. Al and the team are really nice. However, this was my first time getting something altered/tailored and I felt the experience could have been better. They ask you to try on your item first. After you do and tell them what you'd like, they give you a quote. I would have preferred getting the quote first. After all the time and energy to change in and out of my clothes (the dress was fairly complicated), I felt I was already in too deep and committed. The price felt high to me and there was no up-front breakdown or consultation on alternatives, so I felt stuck and uneasy. The end result was lovely but I'll probably shop around more for future tailoring needs. If you know exactly what you want, the nature of the work, how much it should cost, etc. you will be fine and love this business.
