My sisters and I went to Rosa to hem 5 dresses in total for a couple weddings that were coming up. When we asked her about prices at first, she ignored our questions and started her alterations. We didn't think much of it, and expected her prices to be comparable to other alterations we've had done at other tailors. Then when we came back to pick them up, she has the charges at more than $600 for hemming 5 dresses!!!! I've never heard of someone charging $100+ for a hem.... Then she started discounting off $10 here and there to make it seem like she was giving us a good deal, and eventually brought it down to $500. The alterations ended up costing more than the dresses themselves did. If you're going to charge this much for some simple hems, we would have appreciated her telling us upfront so we could have made the decision to stay or go somewhere else. I told her how I thought her prices were unreasonable and that she should have told us sooner, and she was extremely rude and said her time is too valuable to charge anything less. I don't care how good at hemming dresses you are, I would never expect to pay $100 per hem. I got the feeling that she get's angry customers a lot once she reveals her prices, which is why she doesn't say them upfront. Overall, I was extremely disappointed with the service and the cost. It also didn't help that when i got home, one of my dresses was ripped slightly. I would NEVER recommend Rosa to anyone. I'd say you're better off having a family member hem your dress than get ripped off by Rosa.

Rosa is absolutely fabulous. She tailored my future husbands suit. We trusted her and she delivered. Not only did she do a great job ... she is also reasonably priced. Thank you Rosa and team!

Rosa has altered several pieces for me over the years as I lost weight, and to just make clothes fit better. She has always done an excellent job on all of the work.

We were from out of town and needed a new pair of dress pant hemmed. Rosa was wonderful and was able to accommodate us.

Rosa does a fantastic job and charges fair prices.

I went to Rosa with a bridesmaid's dress that needed alterations. In short, the dress was too big and needed to be drastically taken in. I did the initial consultation and was expecting the dress would require maybe $100 for alterations, based on previous experiences with (high end) tailors in Boston. However, when I finished my fitting with Rosa, I asked the price, and was shocked to be slapped with a $225 bill. Mind you, I am a bridesmaid, not a bride. If the alterations were going to be more than the cost of the dress, you should tell your client ahead of time so they can make an educated decision in how to proceed. If she did this, I'd be loyal: I'd bring her all my clothes that needed alterations, refer friends and family, etc. Also, If I had known, I would have just trashed the dress I had an just buying a standard size 6. Long story short, I feel like I was taken for a ride. Sure, I should have asked, but when I asked Rosa why she didn't give me an estimate prior altering the dress, she told me "I'm too busy". Sorry, as a client who just spent a good chunk of change altering a dress, this is not an acceptable answer. She did give me a $15 discount, but I won't be back. She also took it upon herself to call another seamstress I was working with to tell her to charge me more- also did not appreciate this.

This was the second time that I've needed something altered. the first shop I went to years ago was cold and unwelcoming. Rosa is totally the opposite. she is absolutely amazing. Not only is she a remarkable seamstress, she is also an amazing human being. you can't go wrong with Rosa's Alterations!!!! I highly recommend it.

Very good work.

Disappointed was encouraged to do extensive tailoring on a suit jacket so bought something instead for the gathering. Went back multiple times on a Saturday and she wasn't there. Finally was able to get her and she let me know she got rid of the jacket and that she will only keep thing for thirty days.
