I have had some really great experiences with services and some really horrible ones, and I have never felt compelled to write a review before today. I had taken some garments to Dina's Tailor Shop, one of which was a shirt that needed the sleeves shortened. When I received it back, the sleeves were shorter than what had been marked, so much so that the sleeves ended up being more of a 3/4 length than a full sleeve with my arms moved away from my sides. When I brought it to their attention, I was first told that it was my fault because I approved the mark. Then I was told that it was the style of the shirt even though the sleeves were originally longer than my fingertips. Their suggestions for me were to either not move my arms or to sew a stripe back to the end to make a "cuff", which would have been problematic for them since they threw away the material that they cut off.
I would have accepted the mistake if they would have apologized and taken responsibility for it. There was no refund for that portion of the alterations (which to me is now a very expensive mistake on their part), no apology, nothing. The final insult was that when I went to pick up my shirt, neither the person who made the mark nor the owner even bothered to come out to return it to me. They sent out a person whom I had never met before instead of facing me themselves. That, to me, was extremely unprofessional and the final straw in the whole ordeal.
If you are planning to use their services for a simple hem, you'll probably be okay. However, if you're planning to take a more complicated job to them, I strongly encourage you to consider your alternatives. I seriously considered giving DIna's Tailor Shop one star, but they did hem a few items to satisfaction. I certainly will not be back.
