I wanted to like this place because I could really use a tailor that I trust and can keep going back to. However, I will never return here. Brides, please don't bring your dress to Martin's! Terrible mistake. I asked them to leave the bust of the dress alone and take out the stomach area, and they did the exact opposite. They took the bust out and left the stomach part intact, so when I picked it up it didn't fit me at all. Also they never asked me for my name and number so when we picked it up they said they had "no idea" who the dress belonged to. You would think by now they would be in the habit of obtaining that very important information with every single transaction. Guess not! Overall very unprofessional, poor service.

I cannot recommend this company highly enough. Here’s my story of their caliber: My grandmother agreed to let me wear her wedding dress in July, in October she passed away very suddenly on the same day that I got engaged. As you can imagine, the dress suddenly became even more special to me and still remains so. I took it all over town willing to pay whatever necessary to get it altered because I COULD NOT handle someone ruining my dear grandmothers dress. After a few places telling me they could not fix it in the time line I needed it done, I went to Martins as a last resort because I had heard they did a good job from a friend. As soon as I walked in the women who greeted me were kind and helpful and easy to communicate with. They were creative in coming up with ways to alter my dress to fit my style while still keeping its antique look. I was confident until she told me how much it would cost and that they’d have it done in 3 weeks without fittings. I thought, “how could a place do it so quickly for so cheap and do a good job? It sounds too rushed.” (since other places had told me 3/4 months plus fittings). But I had not choice. I left feeling uneasy and felt even more nervous when they called me only 1 week later to tell me the dress was done. I was sure that they had done a cursory job. I WAS SO WRONG! I tried it on and it fit perfectly and looked better than how I imagine it. They captured my hopes perfectly. The seamstress must have been so excited by the project that she worked hard on it and got it done fast. I was so impacted by their care and understanding for the dresses value that it brought me to tears. Even though they had to change a few extra things to make it look just right, they still competed the dress within 2.5 weeks and did it for less than 1/3 of the cost of other places. (Im talkin $160 instead of $600+ elsewhere) My mother and I are both seamstresses but we could not do a big project like this, so take our word for it, their work was immaculate and precise and professional and I will NEVER go anywhere else to get things altered. Martins has the best service, prices, and quality in town when it comes to alterations. If I can trust them with my grandmother’s 55 year old dress, you can trust them with your shirts or pants, I promise.

These folks were so friendly and took my “last minute” mother of the bride dress 5 days before the wedding! Not only did they hem it in about 3 days, they also added a piece at the top to make the neckline not so revealing. It looked like I bought it that way! I had a wonderful experience here. We have been to them several times and it's always great. The prices are extremely reasonable and great customer experience. I dropped my dress off on 3/11 as I needed it for a convention our of town and I was leaving 3/20. She said she would put 3/18 tomake sure that there was plenty of time if something needed to be fixed. There was a rush charge but I expected it as I waited a little late to find a dress and it was not unreasonable. I got a text on 3/13 saying my dress was ready! I was so surprised and happy and when I picked it up the next day it looked so much better and the work is beautiful. I wish I could add before and after photos because there is quite a bit of difference. I really appreciate the service and quality they have and plan to start bringing my pants here to start getting hemmed as being short all pants are long.

I brought in my old "big boy" suit to have it altered to fit my smaller size. After much considering by the lady there, she advised me that I would be better off buying a new suit and then just bringing that in to have the pants and jacket hemmed. She could do the long list of adjustments the old suit needed but I would better off with a new one. Now, what kind of business person advises you to not spend a lot of money at their store because you'd be better off and happier with the results if you didn't? A person with great integrity and caring for the overall satisfaction and betterment of her customer. So, I took her advice and bought a new suit on sale that I am very happy with and had her do the minor adjustments. It looks amazing and I can't recommend this business enough.

Best in the business. Walked in at 3:10pm with a new suit and walked out paid at 3:35pm. Got a convenient text just 2 days later letting me know that it was ready for pickup. I see some reviews complaining about price..in my opinion thats like looking for a bargain tattoo shop...you get what you pay for. If you buy a $700 suit you can’t complain about a $45 tailoring bill. I will continue to give Martin’s my business.

I have three extremely cheap rayon-ish sundresses that are my absolute favs and "go-to's" in the summer! After a year or two of wearing, the gathered bodices had the elastic-string coming out of several gathered rows and removing the gathers entirely. I chose Martins due to the positive reviews online. Boy, what a fantastic job they did! They explained the difficult and lengthy process involved and said they would try it when I said I'd just have to throw them away (the thought of which made me sick). Their communication explaining the process and estimate was excellent and the two ladies there did an outstanding job. I'm so happy with the quality of work. If I have any other alterations, I will only consider them.

I had the worst experience with this place. I needed curtains altered and this place had such high reviews so I thought it would be a great choice. I had curtains I needed hemmed and was nervous about pinning them myself because I didn’t want the length to be wrong, so my mother in law who is a seamstress came and pinned them for me. I don’t know what happened but when I got them back they were 3 inches to short.. I took them back and told them I needed 3 more inches... I picked them up today and they are now puddling on the floor... I am so confused and frustrated.. my husband is now doing something crazy with the curtain rod to try and make them work because I don’t trust to bring them back in. The only reason I gave them 2 stars is because they were accommodating when I came back in to get the curtains fixed. I have only ever left one bad review in my whole life, and I am not the type of person to complain because I know things happen, but this experience was awful. What a time waste of money.

The dress looks great BUT.... So I had to get my dress hemmed for my wedding. Because this place has great reviews, I went here. What a mistake. I called the day before I went in and was explained I can walk in, but do so before 2:30 as it's prom season and they are busy. So I show up about ten. The lady comes out and I can hardly understand her first off. She's older and I guess does the wedding dresses. She first told me I should've made an appointment because she had errands to run and I was taking up her time (chick just tell me to set an appointment and come back, geez). Then she just proceeded to be the biggest jerk I've ever dealt with. My six year old son was with me and he looked so upset. I even told the lady I was sorry and didn't mean to upset her. She started pinning the bottom of the dress, and out of no where walked away without saying anything. I just stood there... Then another lady comes out and starts to finish. The old hag storms out of the store. So they tell me it'll be done may 4. It was done sooner, cool! Go to pick it up. Stand there five minutes while two employees shoot the breeze then the same nice lady came and asked "what I need". I told her I was there for my dress and she got it, hung it on a nail and gave me my total. Asked, "do you want to try it on or what? We are kind of busy." I said no because I didn't want to spend one more second in there. My maid of honor was ready to go back in and knock her lights out. The only thing I did "wrong" was not having much time between this alteration and wedding... I even explained to them is because my soon to be husband is army and looking at being moved across country next month. We wanted to marry first so I can go with him... These people did great on the dress, but if you care about your dignity or being treated with respect, don't go here. They do not care about you, or I guess about soldiers and their weddings either. Nope, never again.

I was under a tight deadline for wedding dress alterations and not only did she get it done on time with room to spare, but the dress was moved from a size 10 to about a size 4 in only two visits. She did a great job and had a great attitude. I'd recommend her to anyone.

I am a law enforcement officer in this area. I purchased 3 pair of uniform pants from a uniform company. I requested snap over loops be installed by the uniform company. The loops were installed incorrectly by the uniform company tailor shop, not once but 2 times. The uniform company finally gave up and just gave me the 3 pair of pants at no charge. I took them to Martins and informed them of what I needed. Martins completed the work on time and fixed the snap over loops on all 3 pairs of pants to perfection. I HIGHLY recommend Martins.

I took my White Coat for medical school. They suggested all the necessary alterations to make it fit perfectly. It took a week to get back and when I did, it was perfect! Great group of folks here. I brought in a bean bag cover where the zippers had broken off. The gentleman took a look at it and said they should be able to fix it pretty easily. He gave me a quick quote, which was very reasonable, and said they would text when it was done. They had it done within two days, and the zipper worked better than it did before. Very professional and kind. I am having them do alot of work to my wedding gown. Their tailoring a Calvin Kline suit to better fit my fiancé, and the cost is very reasonable for the experience the staff has. If you need something done right and in a timely manner this is the place to go. Update!!! Went in today they had both my wedding gown and my fiancé s suit done several days in advance! I'm beyond pleased with the bustle of my train which they added and they took up my dress about an inch, to perfection! The finished hem looked amazing!

The first time I went in, they did a great job with a drop-off. This time I went in with a pillow that needed repaired and a pair of pants that needed a zipper repaired and two buttons sewn on. I expected to have to leave them for a week or more, but they had them both fixed up within 20 minutes, and the price was more than reasonable!

I needed a Bridesmaid dress altered, however there were no alteration places I could take it to where I live. While I was visiting family I took the dress with me hoping to find a place I could take my dress to get hemmed like 4 inches or so taken off. I saw the good reviews and went here to see for myself. The lady was really nice, she said my dress would be done in a week. I explained I would have to come back in a month to pick it up because I don’t live in this state anymore. She said can you come back today before we close at 5:30, if so I can do this today for you so you don’t have to worry about leaving your dress for a month in a different state. I was so excited. She texted me at 2:15pm saying my dress was done. She not only had it done in about 4 hours for me, the price was reasonable, and she did a great job! It is now perfect length for me and I don’t have to worry about not having it done in time. I would definitely recommend this place.
