TOP NOTCH alterations! I've been coming here for me and my tiny daughter for many years and am ALWAYS very satisfied with the results. Everything I bring in comes back to me looking more "finished" than the store-bought version. I am on the larger size and my daughter is tiny but this tailor does ALL sizes with outstanding skill. Pants and jeans hems, sweatshirt sleeve shortening and uneven evening gown hems all come out perfectly! THANKS, Brentwood tailoring!

They did a wonderful job with my wedding dress years ago.

Honestly every time I have taken items in to be altered, I have been totally impressed. The owner is phenomenal! The craftsmanship is excellent. I have been going to this tailor for years and have never been disappointed. The owner truly cares about making sure everything is just right. That has been my experience and I recommend them highly!

I brought my wedding dress in to get a quote on alterations. The lady had me try on my dress (which I hadn't tried on in a month) and asked me to come out the fitting room. Aunt Flo was in town so I knew I would be a little bloated and gained a little but not enough to where I couldn't fit the dress. I asked her to zip it up and she immediately told me it was too small. I asked her if she needed help and she told me not to touch it she would ask for my help if she needed it. She called in someone from the back and they tugged a little bit at it and she told me there was nothing she could do. She then told me I would need to order another dress two sizes bigger and then have to pay to get it taken in, plus it would be best if I found a dress without so many layers because it could be expensive. I was immediately flustered and upset being that I only had 1 month to my wedding. She named some astronomical prices when it came to what my dress needed. She also told me because of the way my dress was made she would not be able to let it out at all. I immediately left and cried in the car thinking I was just a FAT COW who gained so much weight in a month's time. I called my friend distraught and she told me to go get a second opinion. Glad I DID!!! Went to another alteration place the same day wearing the same under garments and all and she was able to zip the dress up just fine to my surprise. I told her what happened and she thought it was just crazy that the lady couldn't get the dress zipped even with help!!! Now unless I lost some inches in a matter of 20 minutes, they should be ashamed at Brentwood. I never even write negative reviews but I couldn't spare it for this one. My experience was horrible; either she did not want to do the dress or she wanted to get extra $$$ from me; either way I will NEVER GO BACK!!!

THE BEST ALTERATIONS IN ST LOUIS!! I had a wedding dress emergency 2 weeks before my wedding. Brentwood alterations was amazing, got me in the same day I called and promised to have it done on time. 2 days before my wedding I nervously arrived for my final fitting and it was PERFECT!!! They are so professional, great price and you can tell she has a true passion for what she does! I will be going back for any and all alterations I need in the future!!

Shani Ali

The lady helped me was very knowledgeable and provided me options that worked with my budget rather than immediately suggesting a major alteration to my dress.

I had been taking my clothes there for years. Recently, I took my trench coat to have the sleeves shorten and I was told that I had to pay upfront. This was extremely odd to me because I have never had to pay upfront before. No biggie, I pay and go about my business. I go to pick up my coat this Saturday, and every non black customer in the shop we’re told that they didn’t have to pay until after the work was done. Not wanting to make a scene, I took my coat and left the shop. I couldnt let the blatant racism go so I called the owner to ask why did certain people have to pay upfront and others didn’t. Of course she gave some lame unacceptable excuse. I will never step foot in Brentwood Alterations and Tailoring Shop agin and encourage any other person who may have experience this treatment to speak up and take your business elsewhere.

Friendly service. I trusted all of their suggestions in terms of suit jacket alterations.

I need a bridesmaid dress hemmed and altered in the bust to make it more conservative and after some searching online, I found Brentwood Alteration & Tailoring. They did a wonderful job for a very reasonable price! The dress worked out perfectly. I'm already planning to take a few other dresses there for alterations. Couldn't be happier.

My girlfriend and I have a wedding coming up soon and needed some alterations on my new suit, and her new jumpsuit she was planning to wear. Just picked up everything yesterday and they were PERFECT. My suit jacket sleeves and pants needed to be shortened, and my girlfriend's jumpsuit needed almost 8 inches cut to make it the right length, AND she needed a small hole patched as well. This was our first experience at Brentwood Tailors, so we were initially a bit nervous, but after seeing the quality of the work, we will definitely be coming back. It's a little expensive and it is cash/check only, but from our experience, it was worth every penny. The women who run the shop are extremely nice and accommodating, and answered any questions/concerns we had about our alterations. Would definitely recommend!

I've had a few things altered at Brentwood A&T before, but my experience today pushed me to write this glowing review. I needed to get two suits fitted - my first EVER suits - for some job interviews coming up. I know next to nothing about suiting. I have always really liked how clearly the folks at this shop explain what they are going to do and that they give their honest opinion - and today, when I put on the second pair of suit pants, the woman I was working with (I think the owner? I'm realizing just now I don't know her name!) was talking about the pants with me and suggested that I go a size or two up, because they were a bit too tight for a conservative, professional look (which is what I was going for). She explained this to me very kindly and with good humor, and I was happy to get some advice! So, I went back to the mall and got the pants in a larger size. Lo and behold! She was 100% right. Once we had the larger pair pinned up, I liked the look MUCH more and felt way more confident in the suit. Talking about sizing is a sensitive topic, but I am so appreciative that she not only tailored my clothes, but ensured I would look my absolute best for some very important interviews!

Brentwood Alteration and Tailor came highly recommend and they did not disappoint. I had a suit altered here, but I had actually bought a size larger then I needed. Instead of doing more extensive alterations, they suggest I take it back and get a size smaller. This saved me a fair amount of money, and in the end the suit needed only minor alterations. They were very helpful and I will return if/when I need any tailoring in the future.

I dropped off a pair of slacks I needed hemmed for a wedding. They were able to get it completed more quickly than normal for a very reasonable charge considering how quick I needed it done. Definitely will return for any other alterations I need done

Hopefully you have nothing complicated otherwise don't waste your time going in. I was told my bridesmaid dress could not be let out. I'm 8 months pregnant and only needed the skirt portion let out. She said it couldn't be done because the top wouldn't zip, which if there was more room in my belly area then it would obviously zip. But of course she didn't want to hear that or my suggestions to take the extra fabric from one of the linings since there's two. I was in the store for 7 minutes.

Great price and she gives her honest opinion.

Unprofessional. Rude. Unless you are a size 6 you will be made to feel like a fat beast.

I've had several sport jackets and pairs of pants altered here, and the staff have always done a fantastic job. It's a family-run business, and they really couldn't nicer. Turn-around time is average and every time I picked up my clothes the tailors made sure I was happy with their work.

I found Lo-ann online and set up an appointment to get my wedding dress altered. She was extremely kind and the price was reasonable. I wouldn't go anywhere else .

look no further for a tailor in St. Louis. She is so sweet and has never let me down. hems and tapering are also a lot more reasonably priced compared to other StL tailors.

Ive taken many suits here. Excellent alterations. They do proper pinning and detailed measurements. Ive used a few other St. Louis tailors who did quick center stitch jacket alterations and messed up the fit of my jackets.

I was very nervous to get my wedding dress altered as I had never had any alterations done before. Loan was amazing and very talented! Would recommend her services.

Brittany Rader

I don't even have enough words to describe what an incredible job Loan and Trinh did on my wedding dress. Not only was the tailoring and sewing quality impeccable, but the service I received will not be forgotten. I went in to see Loan based off the recommendation from a friend, whom Loan had also tailored her wedding dress. I knew I needed minor alterations on the bodice of my dress and that the hem would need to be taken up since the skirt portion was about a foot too long but I didn't think any of it would be a big deal. After trying on my dress and discussing with Loan, she informed me that due to the asymmetrical nature and several layers of a horsehair hem, the only way to hem up the skirt portion of my dress was to take everything up at the waist. I have a degree in fashion design and have constructed many garments myself so I trusted her when she explained how they were going to have to do it. I knew this was going to be no easy feat not only because of the asymmetrical and horsehair layers, but also because of the dozens of layers fabric that made up the very full skirt. She told me the price, which just about knocked me over at first, reminded me that it was a lot of money to spend on one day, and recommended that I try a very stiff petticoat under my dress (along with some pretty tall heels!) to see if that could push my dress out enough so I wouldn't be stepping all over it when I walked. (That right there proves that she is an honest woman. She wasn't trying to take my money like so many people do in the wedding industry. She also welcomed me getting a second opinion but I decided not to because she totally gained my trust and I really respected how she handled the situation.) Based on her suggestion, I order a couple petticoats for $20 on Amazon, put on my 4" platform heels, and tried to make it work but my dress was still too long. I also knew I was getting married in Mexico so wearing any taller of a shoe wouldn't have worked walking on all the sand and I didn't really want the extra heat of the petticoat anyways, so I bit the bullet and decided to pay the $600. Loan spent several late nights with me after the shop was closed, marking layer after layer after layer on the hem of my dress and making sure everything was just right. She was more than accommodating and promised me that my dress would get done, even when she was going on vacation and completely booked at her shop. She kept that promise and exceeded all of my expectations. I will (obviously!) continue to go back to her for all of my tailoring needs and I recommend her and her tailoring team to anyone who needs a seamstress, especially if you are getting your wedding dress altered. She will be 100% honest with you no matter the situation and will not take advantage of you. Like I said, I cannot say enough good things about the whole staff of Brentwood Alteration & Tailoring. They are truly amazing!!

Tailored a new slim suit for me and turned out perfect. They were also very helpful in determining the best size to mitigate the work needed, which saved me money. Would recommend.

Amelia Van Handel

This business has my highest recommendation. Loan and Trinh tailored and bustled my wedding dress for me and they were professional in both their interactions and their skill. They were very flexible about scheduling around my work schedule for appointments and each appointment renewed my conviction that they absolutely know what they are doing. They hemmed and bustled my dress expertly with two different bustle length options (at my request, because I needed to do a dance at my wedding and needed the dress completely off the ground for that) and also reinforced the buttons on the back of my dress to make sure I wouldn't have issues on the day of the wedding. The result was beautiful and inspired endless compliments. Everyone I ever saw in the store with me was also thrilled with their tailoring, so I will definitely be back for other alterations in the future. Thank you so much!

Very nice employees and fast service

Erin Hugeback

I called the shop to see if I could get a walk-in appointment. After I called, I went to the shop and the door was jammed and the shop looked closed. I called the shop and was confused with some lady from New York who was calling about her wedding dress and I had to explain several times that it wasn't me. When the lady came to the front to open the door, it took several tries and finally it opened. After being pointed in the direction of the dressing room, I put on my bridesmaid dress. Not long after, I was ready to be measured. I waited a few minutes and heard employee banter in the next room. I crept around the corner to see if I could be assisted and I was told that the lady who was helping me at first would be with me in just a minute. I waited a few more minutes and eventually left the shop with my dress on and drove to Val's Tailor Shop where I was instantly helped.

Julia Choo

Really great service here. Reasonable price, and the owner is very patient and nice; she's a godsend for alteration problems! Highly recommended 10/10
