Was told a bridesmaids dress would cost $225 for the alterations and thought that was ridiculous and decided to take is somewhere else. The dress alterations ended up costing me $40 for the EXACT same alterations. I couldn’t believe it. Glad I took it for a second opinion. I would question any alterations they are charging you for.

My wife’s bridesmaids dress was promised by a certain time, they didn’t deliver. Then it didn’t fit right, because they didn’t take the proper measurements. Then they charged us more to fix their mistakes, and the dress still didn’t fit right, but we had no choice but to go as is as they already charged $250 to alter a $160 dress and there wasn’t time to make any adjustments. Will never send anyone there ever!

I initially went here because I thought they were affiliated with Joann's fabric stores. I now realize they never could be. I will never go to Joann's again. I took in a suit to get fitted for a wedding, I needed just the pants and coat sleeves shortened. On top of it costing $42 for such basic services, they were not performed correctly. The pants came back about 2-3"shorter than what they were supposed to be, but they couldn't "guarantee" the length b/c I wasn't wearing the exact shoes I would be wearing with the suit for the wedding. With the same shoes I had worn to get measurements they were still inches too short. When the sleeves were shortened they broadened the shoulders and altogether making me look like a baggy hobo with capri pants on. I had to go spend more money to rent a tux for the wedding. Thanks Joann's, for a horrible experience.

Business does not list prices, if I recall correctly, so charges are based on the whim of the seamstress, it seems. The "rush" costs seem exorbitant. With that said, I commissioned repairs on two pairs of pants and paid for rush service. The cost was unreasonable but I was pressed for time. Initially the work seemed to be up to par, but upon further inspection by myself and a friend, i realized part of the waistband had been left unstitched. When I returned to the shop months later because of being out of town for business. Though, only wearing the related altered pants twice. I was advised I would be charged for them to complete the job correctly, which was unacceptable to me, so I declined. Given that I had already paid handsomely for incomplete service and also offered to show them the receipt to prove my point multiple times. So BEWARE of this entity, in my opinion.

Alterations by Jo Ann has become my new secret weapon in making my clothes fit! For years I have bought fitted dress shirts--but they never seem to fit. I discovered Jo Ann's can alter them in the sleeve and side to remove excess material. The result is a custom-fitted shirt for a minimal investment. The results look great. I take my "off the rack" suits and sports jackets in for minor modifications and they look great. They have repaired pants, neckties, and altered my waistband, etc. The place is clean, well-organized, and changing rooms are ample with full-length mirrors. Fashion advisors and clothing engineers is what I call them.

Very disappointed in the customer service I received at my last visit. I specifically requested that the scrap from an expensive European leather belt I had them shorten be returned to me with the belt. The OWNER either failed to read the note on the ticket or just arbitrarily threw the piece out. I will no longer be doing any business there. Boo!

My husband and I have leather vests that we needed some patches sewn on. This place is very reasonable on price. It took about a week. The work is perfect. We also use this place for clothes that need mending. Love this place.

Called just ask about getting a bathing suit top lined bc its extremely thin. The lady that answered the phone was extremely short, rude, and just flat out bitchy, like my questions were offensive and annoying. I typically use Alterations AAA Unlimited on east sunshine, and the service and work there is awesome but they are on a 2 week wait period. I guess I'll be waiting 2 weeks after this call.-_-
