I called The Tailor Shop of Rochester Hills Wednesday, November 9th at 10am right when they open for an emergency gown hem (work sprung a black tie affair on me with one day to prepare). The tailor told me to come in and that it wouldn't be a problem. He did a multi-layered gown hem for $85 in about three hours. The job turned out stunning. I can't say enough about the quality of the customer service at The Tailor Shop; I will not be going anywhere else for alterations ever again.

CLOSED. This shop is closed. I tried to communicate the closure via the "suggest an edit" link on Google, but it kept returning a "server is busy" error. In any event - sign is down, padlock on door, phone number is disconnected, this place is permanently closed.

Very rude and unprofessional. I walked into the shop and was ignored for about 10 minutes. Then the man that finally spoke with me was not friendly. Also the service I was asking for was very over priced. I will not ever be back. Unpleasant service.

I loved the service. I took a really nice dress and a jacket to fix and the tailor did everything in 2 weeks (but I was not in rush). I am not American but he was really nice and treated me with respect. Definitely going back there if I need.

Customer service was ok. However the quality of work was poor. What makes it worse is how long it takes to get something altered. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone!

So this is the first review I've ever done because I felt it was necessary due to the POOR customer service I received! I called to ask questions on a casual shirt I needed to get altered, not even ONE MINUTE into the call, the manager/owner caught a attitude saying "I'm not about to spend 30 minutes explaining to you the process of what to do!" Then hung up on me! Let me tell you guys, I was BEYOND shocked that I experienced something like this on the first call and to think I was curious about trusting them with my clothes. With that being said, there's no telling how poor the service is and I'm not even going to risk it, if you don't care to hold a 1 minute conversation with a customer regarding the service of their clothes, what's supposed to make me think you'll actually service my clothes the correct way? So after being shocked from the initial call, I called back and asked why I was hung up on, his response was "I'm busy and you don't have to come up here!" Then hung up again. So yes, I've been warned and I'm not taking any unprofessional chances with this company!

Don't expect service if you're black. I walked in and asked if I could get measured for a suit so I could come back and have it tailored. I was told "I don't do measurements" and the owner simply stared at me until I left. This was in spite of the fact that it clearly says he does on their website, the man had a tape measure right in front of him, and it's a tailor shop for God's sake. I was the only other person in the store and it was about 2 hours before closing time. Now this may not have been racism. Perhaps the store was being run solely by a man who simply didn't know how to use a tape measure and likes to keep it out for decoration. In which case, they still get one star for having nobody in the store that can do the most basic task one would expect of a tailor. If you're not black, you make the call. Perhaps he'll suddenly remember how to use a tape measure. If you're black, don't waste your time. You know what will happen.

The owner is very talented, friendly and kind. After altering my pants, they had to get a zipper which was due to a mistake I've made. Not only did he order several zippers for me to pick the exact accurate colour: he worked longer hours to get them done just in time and didn't even charge me in the end. Excellent customer service, thank you!

Absolutely terrible, the altered 2 of my suits, they were both over 2 weeks LATE, one was altered terribly and they forgot to take up the sleeves, the second one i'm pretty sure they didn't even touch! i pointed this out to them and i was told "we couldnt take it in anymore (than it already was)" and they still charged me for it because they "tried" Are you kidding me? I was scammed, owner is unresponsive to my attempts to contact him.

Our family has been using this tailor exclusively for nearly a decade now. He has never once failed to produce quality work on time. Suits, pants, shirts and coats for me. Dresses, bluses and complicated jackets for my wife and the girls. He seems to do it all and do it very well. His prices are very reasonable and competitive, but we have stopped looking elsewhere for help. This shop has earned our trust and our business.

I went to Carson's looking for a suit. They no longer have a tailor and use this tailor shop. Instead of buying at Carson's I went here. Not only did I get a great suit on a half off sale, the tailoring was done while I waited. I left in 45 minutes with a fully tailored suit. Great service.
